Roamer is proof that camping doesnt have to be roughing it. Whether youre headed to the backyard or the campground, Roamer is every bit your bed at home except a whole lot easier to throw in the back of the car. Nemos innovative and proprietary internal air channels, called Flow Core, drastically speed up inflation and deflation and reduce packed size well below the competition. Its so good it can make a camper out of even the most diehard camping skeptics. If you or your partner demand the comforts of home, Nemos Roamer pad is the answer. And thanks to its patent-pending internal architecture, it packs surprisingly small, living plenty of room for other niceties. And when you get to camp, it self-inflates in a matter of seconds and the firmness can be fine-tuned with our Laylow micro-adjustable valve. The stretch fabric top conforms to the body, while the durable 75D fabric bottom is ready to withstand anywhere youd like to call home for the night. And continuing NEMOs dedication to sustainability, Roamer fabrics are made of bluesign certified 100% post-consumer recycled materials.

My wife and I bought this for our honeymoon 2 years ago. This is the most comfortable camping mattress I have ever slept on. We take this on every trip to visit family in case we are stuck on an air mattress. The included primitive pump is ingenious, and we have had no issues inflating the bed. The instructions for use being on the back by the ports are very helpful and easy to follow. it does inflate a bit on its own, but it definitely requires pumping.

We use a VW Tiguan to car camp, i.e. flatten the rear seats and put this pad and the size is perfect! Used to carry around a foam mattress and cover sheet that ate up a huge portion of the packing space. This pad is far more flexible and folds over wheel protrusions near the rear.Rids all the uneven parts on the car floor with 4 inches of padding. I would suggest placing this on top of a reflective mat that would keep the car chassis metal’s heat conductivity away from the bottom of the pad and lose body heat. Top that off with a thermal blanket we having been camping in the car (instead of a tent) and I get far better sleep!Self-inflating pads like this one is a double-edged sword: other cheaper brands just wont deflate easily after use! Tried THE brand and gosh, this definitely is easier to deflate (using a pump) than any other brand out there, shaved a good 30 minutes off pressing down on the padding to squeeze the air out.

Disclosure: I received Nemo Roamer Double Sleeping Pad in exchange for an honest review. Many people enjoy time outdoors, but not everybody enjoys sleeping on a 20-inch wide sleeping pad. And without a good night's sleep, life is a misery. NEMO Roamer Double Sleeping Pad looks more like a full-size bed for glamping than a regular camping sleeping pad. It is 78 by 52 inches, big enough for two people or a very comfortable bed for a big guy like me at 6 feet and 200 lb.When I opened the pad for the first time I let it self-inflate for about an hour. Front panel of the mattress has three valves with easy explanatory graphics. I needed six pump sacks with air (included with the pad) to fill it up. However, after that first time it only took 10-15 minutes for the pad to self-inflate and two sacks was enough for a comfortable setup. Please note that after the first time the pad was inflated, the deflated pad became almost twice as big as it was in the original packaging. Fortunately, Nemo includes a large duffle bag sufficient for the pad’s expanded size. The top of the pad is of a nice material and is pleasant to touch with somewhat sci-fi colors that reminded me of the movie Matrix. Fabric at the bottom is 75D polyester tough enough to protect from punctures, but I would still recommend a ground sheet.I am a side sleeper and move a lot in my sleep and Roamer provided plenty of space for that. Also the pad's material didn't produce much noise. I had a very comfortable sleep on multiple occasions.Make sure to check dimensions of the floor of your tent. Many two-person tents are not big enough to accommodate a pad of this size. At 7lbs 8oz it is mainly for car camping, however I might try to take it in a pulk/sled for winter camping. R-Value 6 should be enough insulation for freezing temperatures.Talking about the price, $399.95 is comparable to the price of two 25-inch 4-season sleeping pads, but with definitely more comfort. It is also a definite plus that Nemo used recycled materials in the production of this pad.

Me and my boyfriend got this for car camping. We initially got one and thought it malfunctioned because one of the 3 knobs popped out so easily and subsequently deflated on a camping trip. Okay. We exchanged it for another one (great customer service actually), then realized that it wasn't faulty...it was the original design??With the second one, we used it completely as directed, had a couple of good uses using it as a mattress on our carpeted floor. But then we took it camping twice, including a recent trip to Channel Islands, and it COULD NOT STAY INFLATED TO SAVE ITS LIFE. Literally felt like we were on the ground an hour in. The foam in the pad did nothing; it was like there was no pad the whole night. Re-inflating did nothing. The pro of this pad is that it ... MoreMe and my boyfriend got this for car camping. The foam in the pad did nothing; it was like there was no pad the whole night. Re-inflating did nothing. The pro of this pad is that it inflates really easily - 3/4 self inflation 1/4 our own air, but air escapes really easily (i think partially bc those knobs pop out so easily??) :(( For something so expensive, you'd think it would work. I really wanted to love this pad, it's one of the few doubles sleeping pad out there. But to our disappointment, we cannot keep taking this pad camping when it's really just extra weight with no use.
We took this on a car camping trip to Iceland. The first night it let a bit of air out and each night after it got progressively worse, very frustrating for such an expensive air mattress. The problem is the "valves". They are just push caps, no twisting like you would find on normal air mattresses, it's no wonder it leaks. When it did work though, it was dynamite. I just can't believe for this kind of money they come with such cheap little plastic valve caps.
We just spend two weeks beach camping with this mattress. The mattress faired well for the two weeks. My beef with this mattress is the the fake claim of self inflating. If you just put this matress on the gound and wait it will inflate to about 50%, which would leave you unhappy. So then you need to use the unique pump bag to fill. This matteress fit well in my 3 man tent but you could not get in in or out if fully inflated...Therefore, you will need to use this "inovatve" pump to fill it to a satisfactory level. Pumping this to the full amont was extreemly diffilcut in tighter situations. I tried inflating with my mouth but was not able to. I tried using my paddle board pump but no fittings seemed to fit.So, great mattress with enough space. I would NOT recomed ... MoreWe just spend two weeks beach camping with this mattress. It is also a beast to pack/ carry. Almost as big as my paddel borad deflated. In conclusion, it was great, but, the pump system was difficult in certain situations (tight condtions, windy conditions, and this matress is best suited for larger (4-6 man) and not suitable for carriyng back country.
We bought this thing with high hopes of the two (F)s being able to comfortably sleep when we camp. Camping is mostly car camping and this gear should have been a great addition. But, it leaks air… slowly all night long. There’s no puncture, no known reason… but we fill it and have to add air or we sick through to touching the ground. We weigh 160 each so it’s not a p/psi issue or over weight limits. It’s sad.. over $400+ and we never saw more than a few uses out of it before it became considered one of our worst expensive purchases. It failed basically from go. If my partner was someone that actually returned things rather than ‘making do’ and buying NEW this thing woulda been gone months ago.
I've owned this sleeping pad for 2 years and have used it while camping about 5 times. Sleeping on this (vs the ground, or a pad that's thin like a yoga mat) makes a huge difference for me in terms of sleep quality & how my body feels the next day.But the reason I felt compelled to come write this review is that due to covid, my partner and I have had to isolate from each other in our 1bd home, so I've needed to sleep in a different room. We set up this sleeping pad in our living room and I've been sleeping on it for almost 3 weeks now. That's a long time to sleep on something that isn't a "real" mattress, and I think it's a testament to the quality of this sleeping pad that I feel a greater appreciation for it now than I did before. After the initial setup, I ... MoreI've owned this sleeping pad for 2 years and have used it while camping about 5 times. That's a long time to sleep on something that isn't a "real" mattress, and I think it's a testament to the quality of this sleeping pad that I feel a greater appreciation for it now than I did before. After the initial setup, I have not had to add any additional air to the sleeping pad, not even once! This thing has kept its air pressure beautifully for almost 3 whole weeks. It's not as comfortable as my real bed, but is significantly more comfy to sleep on than the actual air mattress I own (and unlike this pad, the actual air mattress requires you to top off the air every few days). The only reason I'm not rating it a full 5 stars is that I really wish it came with a hand pump, or at least wish Nemo had a hand pump accessory available for me to purchase. Inflating it with the bag isn't difficult with the correct technique, but it is a bit time consuming, and I also have asthma, so I would just personally prefer to use a different method.Other than that, it's been great! I really recommend it to anyone who's looking for a camping mat that can comfortably sleep two people, especially since it can double as a nice place to sleep guests (or for yourself) if the need arises. I hope it lasts like this for many more years to come.
I bought one on the amazing Memorial Day weekend sale last year and one on a lesser but still decent sale this year before Memorial Day weekend. I love the sale price. And it's worth every dollar to get great sleep as a family on camping trips. As we age, I cannot imagine car camping without it. Obviously this is not a product for hike-in or backpacking trips. But once you use one, it's difficult to go back to a Thermarest type mat (though we still use those underneath our Nemo Roamer if we're on gravel or asphalt for protection of the mats and additional comfort but it's not necessary on grass or dirt). I love how compact it is during travel for space efficiency and we love how quickly it can be inflated and deflated. I love how compact it is during travel for space efficiency and we love how quickly it can be inflated and deflated. And because we like to set up and take down camp as fast as possible we use a lithium ion battery powered Ryobi air inflator. Also use either a full or queen sheet with tight elastic on the mat for cleanliness. Not sure what else to say other than this has saved us from buying a small RV (of which it's been impossible for us to find something that can sleep 4+ that is also affordable, lightweight and without an interior kitchen or bathroom). So if you can stomach the cost it's the best sleep you'll get on firm ground.
This sleeping pad is so comfortable, I use it when I visit family instead of a bulky inflatable bed.But it started leaking after just 5 nights of camping. It always lived well above the rocks—on top of a reflective pad, which was on top of the tent floor, which was on top of the tent footprint. I don’t know if it’s the valve system or a small hole. But I’m 4 months past being able to return it.If I had it to do over again, I’d get a different brand. Eighty-five bucks a night is a bit pricey.
