The Nerf N-Strike Modulus ECS-10 is a very large nerf gun with a twist. The modulus series includes various (optional/sold separately) kits including the stealth ops kit, the strike and defend kit, the long range kit, and the flip clip kit (say that last one 10 times fast). It is a pretty cool feature that the gun can reconfigured in MANY ways (over 1000 with all kits). As the product comes in this box, it can be put together in over 30 different (fully-functional) ways, so no additional kits are required for use. Each kit comes with various pieces that can be changed out with other pieces on the gun (for example, the scope, clip, grip, etc.). The darts have a range of a bit under 100 feet, so they often travel quite far. I’m wondering how many of the 10 darts we’ll still have a week from now. It would be nice if they included a few more in the box, but I’m sure more can be purchased separately. It also requires four AA batters which are not included. All-in-all another quality product from nerf!

received this item from the Walmart Spark Review Program for no compensation - just an honest review. The Nerf line-up just keeps getting cooler. This ain’t your 70’s, 80’s, or even your 90’s Nerf gun, either! My son had been wanting this since it came to market and was overjoyed once he saw that we received it. The box itself is massive – around 1.5’x2.5’ long. The Nerf N-Strike Modulus ECS Blaster comes with the battery operated main gun and several additional accessories. Nice that you can ‘upgrade’ by purchasing additional pieces too. It only takes 4 AA batteries – so – those are readily available and not too expensive – and were a snap to install. Recommended ages was 8+, and this seemed about right as my 9 year old was able to use it and it fit him well. The ... Recommended ages was 8+, and this seemed about right as my 9 year old was able to use it and it fit him well. The 10 elite dart banana clip was nice – but plan on buying additional rounds and clips as with quickfire ability – you cycle through them quickly. The nice thing is if you have other Nerf guns that shoot elite darts – the clips from those guns will very likely fit the Modulus Blaster. Shots easily flew 90’ in distance. Noise was not too loud – but – it’ll give you away if you are hiding. Shooting requires pressing the orange motor button to get it revved up – located in front of the trigger – then pressing the trigger. The motor was quick and you could rapidly cycle though your loaded clip in a few seconds with no large perceptible loss of power or accuracy. This is the most powerful dart sting so far I’ve experienced from a Nerf gun. My son loved the built in carrying handle with rail. The included accessory stock is nice, attaches easily & securely – in that it will store an additional loaded clip in it – but those 2 pencil sized rods are really weak and bend easily. I picture this stock breaking very quickly. The ‘scope’ is more just a sight – no magnification here – just a cool looking and attaches to any rail. The dual rail barrel extension seemed to make the elite darts fly better and certainly looked cool on the Modulus Blaster. The drop front grip added a bunch of coolness factor and was great in your hand – it just didn’t seem to secure very well to the Modulus Blaster – bent easily at the mounting rail – and was a disappointment in the long run as it fell off on moderate play/use. There is a hidden clearing jam port located on the top of the Modulus Blaster – if open – your gun won’t fire – so make sure it’s closed. We look forward to upgrading this and using it in battle. Definitely the best elite dart Nerf gun we’ve come across – just some minor issues (included stock & front grip are weak) that hold this back from being the best it could be!

To preface this, I have the Stryfe, Rapidstrike and Rayven so I'm no stranger to flywheel based Nerf guns. Of those, the Rayven is the most powerful but very loud. The Modulus shoots even farther than the Rayven and is much quieter than any of their previous motorized guns.It works similar to most other motorized nerf semi-automatics, using standard clips and having a flywheel activation button and a trigger. Spinup time is much faster than other flywheel guns and combined with the lower noise level you aren't immediately giving yourself away before you fire quite so much. This comes with the new banana clip style clip, which looks alright but really is sort of a waste because it's basically the size of a 12 dart clip but holds only 10 because space is wasted to create the shape without providing any benefit. The main shtick of the modulus are all of the extra accessory packs, which as usual for nerf, are hit or miss, but the rails and accessories are all standardized so you can use your old stuff with your new stuff and vice versa. The powered reflex sight from the stealth upgrade hit is particularly neat. The stock from the strike and defend kit is the most solid feeling stock I've seen from Nerf and, amusingly, actually has a one-dart blaster built in so you could pop the stock off and take a shot with it if you wanted.I definitely feel this is the most solid offering Nerf has put out in a long time, and represents getting back to their core products of solid dart throwers and cool accessories, after the failed gimmick of having a built in camera for way more money than most want to spend on something like this.

At first I didn't think it was gonna work after I put the double A batteries in, it wasn't working, but then it started working and shoots pretty far and accurately. It uses small foam darts that don't hurt when you are hit by them. I also was leary about how you have to hold one button to start the whirring of the gun and pull the trigger to launch the darts, but the kids never had a jam or problem with it, except needing more darts, which I went to Walmart to get. They had the darts but no magazines, which would be nice. The magazines hold 10 darts and it doesn't take long to shoot them all and then you are searching for them and reloading. This gun has a lot of removable parts so you can customize the look of it. The stock add on will hold a spare magazine, but ... This gun has a lot of removable parts so you can customize the look of it. The stock add on will hold a spare magazine, but it has two small plastic rods that I'm sure will break at some point. That won't have any effect on the function of the gun, it would just remove the magazine holder and you couldn't hold it in your shoulder like a rifle. I have bought Nerf guns years ago and can tell you they have certainly improved the design and function tremendously, shooting farther and more accurately than the ones in years past. This is a larger gun so it might be better for bigger kids. I recommend this gun, because my grandkids were laughing and running around, having a blast with no crying, no pain.
The Nerf N-Strike Modulus system is one of Nerf more innovative blaster lines. By incorporating the accessory rail system and other attachment methods, NERF has built a Blaster than can be customized by the user in, they claim, over 1000 ways, if you buy the additional accessories. This blaster set starts off with the base ECS-10 Blaster, which is one of two main blaster types in the series. The other is the ECS-12, which is much costlier and includes a built in digital camera. The ECS-10 comes with a duel rail barrel extender, a pistol grip, a 10 shot banana clip, a storage stock extender and a targeting scope. The user can combine these pieces in a few different ways to customize the look of the blaster. This particular NERF gun is battery operated, and you have to hold the “acceleration trigger” and pull the regular trigger at the same time to fire a dart. But, the acceleration does give the blaster a longer range than a pump action blaster. The barrel extender allows you extra space to add accessories and lengthens the barrel, improving accuracy, but decreasing fire power. The pistol grip handle helps for extra control of a blaster that can get rather bulky. The 10 shot clip allows you to hold a fair amount of darts, but I saw they do make a 21 dart version. I live in California, so not sure I’m going to be able to find that, but I hope I can. The sight is fairly inaccurate, and I can’t find a way to adjust it to actually make it a targeting sight, but hey, it’s a kid’s toy, not a hunting rifle. The storage stock acts as a shoulder rest/stock extender and has a place to add an additional clip for more fire power in a Nerf battle. The base set includes white darts with an orange tip.
Semi auto firing is awesome and batteries last longer than expected. Jams occasionally with bad darts, stock is a little flimsy but it holds a spare mag which is pretty cool. Barrel attachment you can put other barrels on the barrel!Attachable Grip is nice and ergonomic. Flip up iron sight is great because to align you have to tilt the blaster making it more accurate and the sight/scope looks cool but isnt that useful. The 10 dart mag looks great in the blaster and is quite reliable. The blaster is flywheel powered and uses 4 AA batteries, surprisingly these flywheels/motors are alot quieter than other blasters i have. Overall a solid purchase and i definitely recommend
I bought this for myself, and at first it was very complicated on how to use it. The instructions were not very helpful; they only show how to put the product together, not how to use it. It requires 4 AA Alkaline batteries. To fire, you have to hold down one switch and pull the trigger, which is nice and easy. Since it is semi-automatic, you don't have to pump every time you fire, which I like. The rear end attachment which can hold another magazine is almost unusable, as it is very flimsy and floppy. The actual part where your hand goes has an uncomfortable ridge. It fires only about 30 feet instead of the 90 it says it fires, which is a real disappointment. It clogs easily, and I am disappointed it can only hold 10 darts at a time. Taking out the magazine is ... MoreI bought this for myself, and at first it was very complicated on how to use it. Taking out the magazine is really easy and simple, unlike some of the N-Strike Elite blasters. Magazines from other blasters won't work for this gun. Overall, I am disappointed with the lower quality of this blaster, escpecially since it clogs very easily. But it is functional, but just don't get your hopes up. You would be better of buying the Zombie Strike Doominator of the Mega Rotofury, which are better blasters for about the same price.
This review was written by my son who this was for, his age 25.This review is for the Nerf Modulus automatic baster. First off, as this blaster is an electric, it does not have the air pressure to create a significant Feet per Second rating that the pump action blasters create. That being said, it does however fire much faster than its predecessors which can create an advantage over your opponent, or give the user a chance to survive against multiple opponents. The standard attachments that the Modulus comes standard with are; a removable barrel attachment, fore grip, scope (be advised that the scope does not magnify but is more of a sight), a ten round magazine, and a removable stock that can carry an extra magazine (I didn’t much care for it as it is rather flimsy when pressed to the shoulder). The removable barrel attachment also has a couple of additional rails for attachments. The accuracy of the blaster is quite nice as it has rifling throughout the barrel and the attachment. Overall I’m quite impressed with this blaster, although I will be replacing the stock as soon as possible.
This product was tested with several adults and children- age range 11-41. PACKAGING: The packaging is great as it really gives you clear visibility of the product. I also really appreciated the pictures on the back of the product to show what upgrades you can get for the base model. FUNCTIONALITY: We all loved how the nerf gun functioned. The batteries you supply for the unit really assist in making the darts go further than a non-battery operated nerf gun. The box stated the darts go approx. 90 feet. We found this to be true. In comparison to the other nerf guns we have, the darts traveled farther and faster. The clip for the darts is much easier to put in and release vs other nerf guns. This is great for smaller hands! As well, the MODULUS allows other nerf gun parts to clip into this unit, making a super mega nerf gun! We placed our other clip into the back handle of the MODULUS thus allowing us more ammo when playing!PROBLEMS: The darts. The darts have a tendency to jam on occasion. We feel this could be remedied with a little bit firmer end on the dart (not the tip- the end of the dart). With a lot of play, the darts can become slightly bent or twisted some with repeated loading and unloading of the clips. Firmer ends on the darts would help prevent that some and assist in less jamming. Luckily, on the MODULUS there is a opening at the top of the gun to aide in removing jams if they occur.PRICE: The price listed I feel is fair for what you are purchasing. You are getting many parts for the base model with add on capability. I would purchase this product.
I first want to say I received the Nerf N-Strike Modulus ECS-10 Blaster for my honest rating and review. Now that I got that out of the way. The motorized Modulus ECS-10 blaster is a brightly colored orange, neon green, white, and two shades of grey. It can easily shoot 30 feet and hit within a one foot radius. The motorized modulus blaster was the highlight of my son’s week. He found it quite entertaining and absolutely loves it. He plays, “kill the zombie” and shot just about anyone he was allowed to shoot. I give this blaster a 5 star because it keeps my son entertained.
