The coffee capsules are kinda expensive, however Nespresso always have some deals on their website plus free shipping on orders over $35. Plus the saying “you get what you pay for” is very true. I definitely recommend this coffee maker.

Broken after descaling! Very disappointed!

This is my second citiz with frother in the last 9 years. The first one lasted 7 years. My most recent one seems to be kaput after 16 months. After descaling the machine had stopped working. It is out of warranty, so replacement is not an option. The only real option is full replacement with a discount from nespresso. I am incredibly disappointed. At this price point I expect the product to last longer than 16 months. The Quality has gone down over the years.

Broken after just a year and a half

I loved this machine! Unfortunately it’s broken after a year and a half. I was offered a discount on purchasing a new machine to replace it. After saving up for this, I expected it to last more than a year and a half. Or at least, I expected there would be a reasonable repair option available if it broke after the warranty. The only solution is to buy a new machine at a discount. The person I talked to on the phone about it was kind, but I was hoping for a better customer service solution. I’m hesitant to invest again in a new machine from Nespresso given the quality of what they’re creating. Hugely disappointed because i really enjoyed the machine and the milk frother.I wouldn’t buy this unless you can afford to replace it in a year and a half.

Frother stopped working

This was gifted to me last year. Frother slowly stopped working over the last 3 months. After calling customer service and using a video chat they asked me to put water in it and asked if it “warmed the water”, which it did (warm at best). But it also does not froth milk. I asked why I couldn’t put in milk to see how it doesn’t work. Then told me it could be the milk that was an issue? So every milk I ever bought in the past 3 months was unsuitable? I was then told they don’t offer a new frothed and I would have to buy a separate stand alone one.

Great Espresso Machine… Highly Recommend

Really enjoy my latte’s from this machine. Makes a nice, hot drink consistently. So much better than our local coffee shop. So happy I did not pay attention to the negative reviews! Love making my own drinks at home!!Bought my machine close to a year ago and make 2-4 espresso drinks a day. Really, the only problem has been operator error: starting to pull from a capsule while the used capsule receptacle is full leads to capsules not piercing and water in the cup.Other things mentioned, like leaking, are actually pods draining in the pod receptacle and to be expected. The same with the espresso dripping, the pod is still draining (I allow the capsule to drop into the receptacle so it drains more in the drawer). I descale it regularly. Great little machine

So, first off, I love this machine and would recommend it to anyone interested in making a cup of "espresso" without the fuss and clean-up of a traditional machine. I didn't want this to end up on the basement shelf with the bread maker and air fryer which were used for several weeks then stored away. This is so easy to use it is now my go-to for after dinner decaf espresso. I chose the original line over the newer line for cheaper pods and more traditional brewing. I have a Kreurig to brew my regular morning coffee so I didn't need a machine to brew larger cups.I've enjoyed espresso with frothed milk as well as just with lemon rind and enjoyed them all. I keep a small glass on the fold down cup shelf and that solves the issue for me. I can live with that for the ease this machine offers. I also run a small shot of clear water after each use to help keep the inner works clean2. there should be an indicator light for low water as it is easy to forget to check the water level and get an incomplete shot of espressoI've had the machine for about a month so I cannot comment on longevity of performance but am loving this machine today! No buyers remorse!

Love my CitiZ!

I bought my CitiZ in 2016 as a retirement gift to myself, and it's still going strong (although I did have to replace the milk frother several years ago). I liked it so much that I gifted one to my son, and I bought another one for our vacation home. The bright red color brightens up my kitchen! It's easy and quick to make delicious coffee. I appreciate the postage-paid mailing bags to recycle used capsules. I use the lungo setting and add chocolate syrup and steamed milk to make a delicious mocha. Love it! (I received free product for writing a review)

Not worth the expense to only last 18 months

I bought this machine January 2021 and it was on back order. Finally received in April 2021 and machine worked fine until October 2022 when the machine stopped piercing the pods. After descaling and then cleaning with the guidance of support, I was notified I would need to have it repaired…warranty for this machine is only 1 year…and then to find out that they are no longer making parts for the Citiz so it is not repairable so is a $300 paperweight. Nespresso extended a 35% discount on a new machine but the thought of spending $300+ on a machine that will only last 18 months is disappointing. Buyer beware as while they are advertising this maker, if it needs repairing, supposedly they are not making the parts for it.

Prefer my Essenza

The CitiZ draws a fine cup of espresso, but the user interface is less robust than the Essenza. I have had an Essenza for years. It still works great except the button to draw a shot is going out and barely works. If I could repair the button, I would. Unfortunately Nespresso doesn't do repairs. So I bought a CitiZ. The lid of the water tank is not attached to the tank or the machine making it harder to set in place correctly. To remove the used pod holder, grab the upper cup shelf. Don't try to grab the actual pod container - it is not attached to the bottom. The lever to insert a pod is sticky and hard to set into place. If you don't get it closed fully, the pod doesn't puncture and you just get hot water in your cup. Ridiculously good espresso & foam

I read every formal review of the Nespresso machines I could find. Every single one of them said something like "Yeah, it's okay, but not as good as REAL espresso."I've been doing my own at home for 30 years. For the last eight years I've had what's now a $3k Italian double boiler and a $1200 grinder. I have apparently spoiled my impossibly espresso picky wife, as she prefers my work against any we find here or in our travels.I've thought about trying a Nespresso machine simply because ANY time i fire up the big home system I've used up an hour from turn-on/heat up through cleanup. Lo, we found a used Citiz and brought it home. Oops - It had been sitting dry for years and even an hour on the phone with one of Nespresso's SUPERB techs didn't bring it back. In addition, the little frother thing (Aeroccino) is nothing short of also amazing. What an incredible invention. You need to pour the foam IMMEDIATELY as soon as the machine stops, but I'm sorry, it IS as good as what I can do on the double boiler machine.I hate to say it, but in the three weeks or so I've had this thing I've only fired up the big one once. The Nespresso is that good. The foamer is that good. AND you've got a single shot in just about a minute from cold start. If you like espresso (the "lungo" is good too) rather than regular coffee, do this.
