I was excited to convert to Nespresso after a lifetime of grocery store drip coffee. In June 2020 I ordered this machine for my partner’s birthday. Everything was fine until a week ago - I noticed water pooling at the base of the machine. This morning I needed 4 cloths to clean up the water leaking from the machine - it’s also stopped reading the barcodes correctly. This machine is only a month old - if you google it, you’ll find that many folks have had issues with this machine right out of the box. Certainly not the Breville quality I’m used to.

Bought machine in mid November 2020 and stopped working 2 days into 2021. Very poor engineering and product design. Machine remains stuck in rescaling mode and numerous attempts to reset do nothing. Was this design ever tested? Shame because Nespresso Originaline worked well, but the Vertuoline is a quality control disaster.

This is poorly engineered and loud. It's been a fight to keep this thing running. Gets dirty quickly and the machine "teeth" stick, despite constant cleaning. Have had to unstick before every pod to get it to work. Paid $200 for this and it might be worth $20. Don't waste your money or time. Buy a different unit if you like Nespresso products. I'd give this zero stars if I could.

Purchased late March 2020.Coffee quality so-so. Disappointed from my first experience with Vertuo in an airBnB in Paris last December (2019).Documentation is poor: For the Bluetooth connection, you need the 2.4G not 5G connection. Otherwise it the iPhone app won't see it.Water pooling around base of unit - not clear, but coffee?! This just started in September.Then, this week (Nov 1) it just stopped working: un plug and plug back in, it dumps the internal water into a cup while quick flashing orange, then warms up with slow flashing white, the light turns solid white to indicate ready, then nothing happens when button is pushed: did the button 'die'?Cheap piece of equipment for the price with so-so, expensive coffee.Sending in for repair.
Unfortunately the new machine lasted one day before a significant amount of water started leaking from the machine. Called Nespresso and the machine is being replaced. A little embarrassing given it was a Christmas present for someone else.
I had a Vertuoplus that I had to replace recently and decided to get a Next. While it seems to make decent coffee, I am a bit disappointed with the crema vs the Vertuoplus. The crema on the Next is much less smooth, and far more air bubbles. It dissipates with in a minute or 2 and looks somewhat unappealing (tastes ok). Also, the bluetooth/wifi connectivity is flaky at best. On the whole, I kind of miss my VertuoPlus as I think it was a better made machine.
This is a great machine and the coffee capsules have a great flavour. Only thing to pay attention to is to make sure the water tank is positioned correctly when in use otherwise the machine doesn’t function correctly!
After emptying the dispenser of our 3-day old machine, we found where most of our coffee went. Since we had the machine, we wondered 1. why it was so noisy, 2. why it wasn't a full cup and 3. why there was little foam, now we know why! The coffee was leaking into to dispenser through a small black hose. Tried to add pictures and was unable to, ugh. What is going on with Breville's product quality?!?!?
The machine itself looks nice and well presented. The downside is you are limited to the Nespresso range of coffee. So if you dont like their coffee you are buggered!!!
Nespresso you have failed on this unit for everyone reading this review I am only here to warm others to not purchase this unit it's loud and feels cheap.The vurtuo plus was so smart and quite producing amazing coffee however this unit is nothing more than a cheap knockoff. Research and development have dropped the ball on this one
