I already had the nespresso plus machine so in some part of my review would be comparing it with this previous model, if you haven’t tried nespresso machine before then now you can enjoy the most delicious, the easiest and the most convenient cup of coffee you could possibly get at home with only a touch of button. The installation is simple and the instructions are straightforward too easy to follow and operates with the touch of a single button. The machine it self is slim and sleek it would fit perfectly in any small space over the counter, it has very beautiful luxurious design, majestic black color with rose gold edges absolutely gorgeous i only wish it was print resistant too. The pods reservoir is on the side very easy to open and reach for used pods which are recyclable too, the water tank on the other hand is located on the back of the machine and has a good capacity pretty larger than my previous so less frequent water tank filling. The best part about this model is being a smart machine you can connect to your smartphone through blue tooth for better experience like getting notified with any troubleshooting and get help regarding cleaning/descaling the machine I really love this new feature about this model absolutely brilliant. You only need to select your pod in term of coffee strength/roasting how large your cup of coffee your making, insert your pod and push the button and enjoy! It doesn’t come with a milk frother so you need to get one if you love cappuccino/ latte like me. Now the things i didn’t much like about this model is that i find the way the machine open/close to insert the pods by pushing a lever need some effort make it less convenient in comparison with only pushing a button in the previous model I owned, the trey that hold the cup is really beautiful and kinda heavy chrome and can be adjusted for several levels however in my opinion it is not very sturdy it seems to get detach from its place way too easily than should be, with the slightest forward pull it will fall, makes me worried for little kids accidentally take it out/ fall on their feet it is pretty heavy metalic piece I would not recommend you leting a little kid near it for that reason. One thing as well I found this model to be a bit louder but it is not a deal breaker! Overall it is a magnificent home coffee machine with the most delicious coffee ever, the machine is smart convenient and absolutely easy to use and clean. I definitely recommend it.

The Nespresso Vertuo Next makes some seriously amazing coffee! I live in a rural area and mostly work from home so having this machine enables me to get top notch brewed coffee any day I want! I show some size comparisons to a traditional coffee pot. This nespresso takes up less space than a traditional maker and can be slid back up against the wall and still have enough space to open under the upper cabinets. There weren’t many instructions included so I’d recommend the Nespresso YouTube channel for some great QuickStart videos. It is a bit louder than I am used to. There is an app and wifi connectivity but it doesn’t allow you to schedule a brew and I don’t see a big benefit to the app. You can order more coffee through the app and they are a bit pricey so this is ... The vertuo pods are newer design so there aren’t yet as many options for other branded coffee, but they seem to slowly be appearing out there! I also got a stainless steel reusable pod off that fast shipping site and it works in the machine but needs fine ground coffee to get close to the Nespresso brand level of taste from the brew. I also discovered there is a top off feature-within 45sec of finishing, press the brew button again to top off the cup. You can also unlock and lock again (without lifting the lid) and get a second, not as strong, but fills more of my cup, brew out of the same pod. I’m used to being able to select my size brew but this one chooses automatically for you based on the barcode on the pod. The lock/unlock workaround works just as well though. Love this high quality Nespresso machine!

There was no doubt in my mind when getting this for Christmas in 2022 that this machine would make my morning latte brewing significantly better. I used a relative's Nespresso Evoluo before and knew how great the coffee was at such speed in brewing. This machine, though, did not satisfy.I brought this machine back with me to college the second week of January in 2023. I got to use it twice before the issues started. The first thing I noticed (by design, likely) is that while the Evoluo heated up in around 4 seconds, the Vertuo Next took about 30 seconds to get there. MoreThere was no doubt in my mind when getting this for Christmas in 2022 that this machine would make my morning latte brewing significantly better. I thought this was odd, but I dismissed this due to the price difference and therefore expected performance difference as well.Using it a third time, I found that after the machine heated up and had a glowing white button, I was left with a screeching noise followed shortly by a blinking red light (more to come with this, but the number of blinking red lights changed with each brew attempt each different day). and no coffee. I thought of the basic options to fix this. I unplugged the machine from the wall, waited around 15 seconds, and plugged it back in. Hit the light to turn it on and then once more to brew and... the same thing. I knew this issue would have a deeper fix than just by "putting it in rice" so I called customer service.Customer service is great. The menu is easy to navigate and getting connected to a polite, useful employee is very simple. They helped me do a reset on the machine and I was up and running with coffee after. After a week off from using the machine due to sickness, I woke up germ-free and was excited to get back to my daily coffee (which, at this point, I loved and relied on). I turned on the machine, waited, and saw that glowing white light filling me with excitement and joy of the flavour and caffeination that this magic bean drink brought me.My spirits were smashed again by the blinking red light, this time returning to white after blinking for a while. I hit the brew button again and it blinked red, then went back to white and spit the coffee out with no more concern. "Odd," I thought, but coffee is coffee and I wasn't going to fix something that wasn't broken to me.Several brews later and I had the blinking issue every day now. Each time, the machine heats up, glows white like a horse ready to race, and then blinks red with a dead spirit upon push. Call after call, service got me running again with a reset (note, the reset cleared the phone connection to the machine each time which was a key advertisement point to this model compared to others).March (3 months later) came, and I went home from college where I was able to use the Nespresso Evoluo again (and see my family and dog, but the Next had left me drained and I was truly excited to sue ol' reliable). I raced to the machine in the morning, hit the "on" button, waited a few seconds, and then pressed the button again for the coffee to brew immediately. The smooth setup and sweet operating noise of the machine brought a smile to my face, and after about 10 seconds, so did the coffee. No weird noises, quick coffee, and best of all, no blinking red light.Time passed, break ended, and I went back to school. I arrived in my apartment room and was met with the smug stare from the Vertuo Next by my bedside (yes, I am that reliant). It knew I had cheated on it with the Evoluo and I could tell that good things just weren't to come. Classes started, and I used the Next every day. With exams coming up, sometimes it was even 2-3 times each day that I would make coffee. Each time I used it, though, the fatal blinking red light came back in a different pattern. After 7 calls to customer service and a replaced machine (yes, same model and colour, and no, it was not the same machine that I sent in - they did in fact give me a new machine with a new serial number) I realised that this machine and I just weren't going to work out. I found out that you can spam push the brew button and after some robotic suffering and choking noises, the machine eventually spits out coffee with no more light. You just have to hit the button about 5 times a second continuously until the red light gives up and the coffee flow wins.I moved away for the summer leaving my machine in storage (climate controlled) for 3 months. After setting it up this week, putting a mug under it, and saying prayers to every god and higher being in the book, I turned the machine on. The white "startup" light pulsed for 30 seconds or so, and after I did another deep clean (which I usually did every two weeks or so by the way) I put a pod in and hit brew.And...Blinking red light. I called service for the 8th time, did the reset deal, and were back to where we were (well, until tomorrow that is, when the machine won't work again due to Murphy's law). This evening, I'll be dumping $219 into the Evoluo to have a working machine that won't cause me a stroke every time I use it. My relatives never cleaned their machine, and they didn't even know that Nespresso had customer service for the machines since there's has always worked so well.So in short, if you're looking for great, quick coffee, the Nespresso machines are 100% the way to go. Just be sure to spend the extra $40 on the good machine, since its not worth paying more for blood pressure medicine after using the Vertuo Next for a week. I give customer support a huge thanks in always getting the machine working again with a reset, but this machine just isn't for me (and quite frankly, I have no idea who it would be for), If you've read this all the way to the end, I hope this makes you spend the extra $40 to get the Evoluo (or anything else) and that you meet success in all your brews. I hope Nespresso keeps this from happening to future machines!
I'll start this by saying I absolutely love Nespresso coffee. I was a Keurig girl for years, but the coffee quality and taste just doesn't compare. When I got this machine, it was amazing, and I fell in love with Nespresso altogether. It can be a very inconsistent machine. Sometimes it would go months working perfectly, and other times I'd have to run a cleaning cycle between every brew or it would stop working. Well, here we are just over 2 years later (purchased Feb 2021), and it has completely stopped working. The only functions it will run are the cleaning/descaling functions. I will not brew a single cup of coffee anymore no matter what I do. My biggest complaint about these machines is the lack of screen or error messages to refer back to. You have to decipher ... I will not brew a single cup of coffee anymore no matter what I do. My biggest complaint about these machines is the lack of screen or error messages to refer back to. You have to decipher different colored blinking patterns and refer back to their chart but even there all it says is, "see point 7 & 8", but points 7 & 8 just say if it doesn't work, try something else. Not super helpful. As a DIY savvy person, I've troubleshooted everything the book says could be the problem and it still won't brew anything. I love the coffee so much and currently have about $150 worth of coffee pods that I can't brew so I'm probably going to end up purchasing the new Vertuo Pop+ Machine but I hope it lasts a little longer than 2 years. Also, for $125-$150 I'm not expecting these to last a lifetime, but I know I've had Keurig machines work perfectly for 4+ years and only got rid of them because a newer model was available. Would be nice if they had something in between this model and the $800 model. I'd most definitely pay upwards of $300 for a Nespresso machine if it was guaranteed to work for at least 2 years.
I got this coffee maker for my office because of its compact size, and ease of use. It is very small and takes up very little counter space. It only has one button on it, which makes it super simple. The design is very sleek and the way capsules pop in and automatically eject into a wastebasket is very cool. There is nearly zero cleanup needed and the water reservoir is extremely easy to remove from the back and fill with water. An added bonus is that it makes the office smell like delicious coffee for a few hours. There are some downsides as there are with most capsule coffee makers, mostly that there are absolutely no options. The size of the coffee it makes, the pressure it uses and everything else is pre-determined by the capsules you purchase. Because of that, you can't just tell it to pour a double shot. This is usually a good thing as it's calibrated to make the best possible coffee with the capsule you got, and you can't mess it up, however it is limiting. One impressive thing is it takes about 20 seconds to 'warm up' in the morning, which is incredibly fast compared to other more traditional espresso machines I've used or drip coffee. It is 'noisy' when it's pouring the coffee, but isn't any louder than other espresso machines while pumping water. It comes with an app and can be WIFI connected (not required). I did try out the app and realized it was mostly to get you to register your device. The app doesn't control the device, you can't set timers or automation or anything, however it has sent me notifications that the lid wasn't fully closed. The app also has instructions on how to clean the machine and such which is nice.Overall it's a great coffee maker, it does make great tasting coffee and as long as you're willing to buy their specific barcoded capsules it's a perfect option for a small area. I will likely stick with a more traditional espresso machine at home for the main kitchen as I like to experiment a little more with my coffee and prefer to buy unique bags of coffee beans over capsules, but I have found myself using it on the go just because of how quickly it makes coffee when I'm running behind and how easy it is to clean up.
Love their coffee, but I’m just not pleased with their line of Vertuo coffee makers. I’ve had problems now with 3 out of 4 units I’ve purchased. We were gifted with an old Gran Maestria by our daughter in law for our beach condo in NC since her father had purchased her a new Creatista machine. We loved the coffee so much we decided to purchase one of their machines for our home in Michigan. I liked the idea of the Vertuo system so I purchased a Vertuo Plus that I returned to Target because it would not get the coffee hot. Having been burned by the Plus I decided the get a Vertuo Next and it worked good for around 1 1/2 years before it started showing a need to descale (orange light blinks twice). Well I’ve descaled it now twice and ran through a cleaning cycle twice (once on my own and once with a Nespresso service technician on a video call) and am able to get a few cups of coffee out of it before the problem returns the next day. The only thing different the technician had me do is to run the water tank dry and stick a paper clip in the hole in the cover. We will see if it works tomorrow morning, but I’m not holding out any hope. I also purchased an identical unit for my daughter last year after she loved the coffee from ours. It lasted less than a year and had the same problem as our unit. Same error codes in spite of multiple descaling attempts. I tossed the unit in the garbage and purchased her a new one, of course this was all before our unit developed the same issues otherwise I’d have purchased her something different. Not sure what I’ll do once my machine quits worrying again. I love the coffee, but their machines are very poor quality. Perhaps I’ll look into another original line machine like I have in NC or find someone else’s coffee I like with better equipment. The only reason I’m not giving them a one rating is because my old unit (sans the troublesome technology) works great.
If you're on the go and don't have time to tinker with making a nice cup of coffee or espresso - this machine is a winner. Pop in the capsule, press the top button and watch it go to work. It is a bit loud, but most espresso machines are when building up pressure - this one just spins the capsule instead of the traditional methods. It creates a lovely crema on your cup and does a very good job. Now, let's go over the good, the bad, and the ugly. The good: Makes a great cup of coffee or espresso. It's quick and easy and only takes one button and making sure your container is below the spout. When you open to put a new capsule in the old one drops into a disposal bin (that is also easy to remove and empty) and accepts the new capsule. Upon startup it does have wifi ... It's quick and easy and only takes one button and making sure your container is below the spout. When you open to put a new capsule in the old one drops into a disposal bin (that is also easy to remove and empty) and accepts the new capsule. Upon startup it does have wifi capability. This may seem like a bad/ugly but it isn't because the only purpose of this is to ensure that you have registered your product and get support if and when you need it. As far as I can tell it does not need to be connected to operate. Its a decent size but small enough to fit anywhere on the counter and looks great as well! The bad: Proprietary capsules. Each capsule has a barcode the machine scans to create the designed cup of coffee/espresso. This barcode gives all the information - amount of water, pressure, type of coffee/espresso - to the machine to create a cup. If you have your own coffee, or want a specific roast to be different (e.g. want a double shot of espresso instead of just a single shot) you are out of luck. With the capsule they are saying that you better be happy with what the machine makes because there is no alternative. The ugly: The capsules. I am not a fan of these at all. They are made of thin aluminum and will dent with a slight drop. While that isn't a big deal the big deal is you have no idea what you're going to get until you make your cup of espresso/coffee. Obviously the capsule size indicates what cup/shot you are going to get but as far as flavor goes - you're completely blind until you try it. You do not get to use your own coffee either, as said before. Sure, there are sample packs, but if you have a favorite coffee you'll never be able to make it with this machine unless it is a Nespresso capsule. Another ugly point is that these machines are super prone to errors and malfunctions. This will also ultimately waste money because of the design of the machine when you insert a capsule the machine punctures and functionally "uses" the capsule. In this case, if your machine errors and you open it back up to fix the error - it dumps the capsule in the waste bin without actually using it and making coffee. While I have not experienced any errors I also have not been using this machine for 6+ months, so I have no idea on the longevity of the machine.Because of the ugly factors here, I am unable to recommend this machine to someone. The only people that I may be able to recommend it to are those who already have a Nespresso capsule they know they like as well as don't know how to properly use a manual espresso machine or are looking into a automatic machine.
I am a daily coffee drinker and I literally have to have a cup every morning or I feel as though I cannot function properly. This machine absolutely takes my coffee drinking experience to a whole different level and has opened me up to flavors and styles that I probably wouldn't have considered on my own.I want to start by saying I love the design. It is very modern like and goes well with my other kitchen appliances and decor. The slim style allows it to be placed on my countertop and still allows space for me to do any prep work for a meal or to place another small appliance beside it, if I choose. It's definitely not big and bulky but works like it is much bigger than it is!! There's a whole lot of power in this compact frame. The instructions were somewhat easy to follow but I am I "hands on" person so I needed to just go for it myself and learned how to work the machine properly just using common sense and previous knowledge of coffee makers. As far as usability goes, it is really simple, quick, and not over complicated to use. Most of the work is done for you. Just pop in the pod/capsule and the machine adjusts to it and literally does all the work for you.The coffee is definitely premium tasting and I've been loving trying flavors I've never had before and trying different styles of "joe".The clean up process is also easy and I love how the machine disposes of the used pod/capsule for me.While on, there is some sound but I don't think it is loud or noisy. It definitely puts a lovely smell in the air every time I use it and there's just something calming about that, to me.The only con is not being able to use any other brand of pod/capsule when I run out. It's not a deal breaker but something to be made aware of.Overall, it is a nice addition to my kitchen. I love how it looks, it's capabilities, how fast it is, and the fact that I get to experiment with different coffees right at home!!
This was not our first Nespresso machine, we have a Creatista as well, but this Vertuo Next machine is my favorite of the two. I appreciate the black body with rose gold accents, it looks sleek and fancy on our counter. It's got a slimmer footprint so it can slide between our other small countertop appliances easily. It was easy to get unboxed and set up, once we ran the initial cleaning cycle to just clean out any dust or whatever may have been left inside from the manufacturing process we each made ourselves a cup of some very tasty espresso. It included a sample pack of various espressos and coffee capsules. It included a sample pack of various espressos and coffee capsules. I love how simple it is to make whatever drink you want - you pop in a capsule, lock the lid, and press the button and the machine reads the barcode on the capsule and automatically knows how much water to add. Very cool! It heats up very quickly and the water temperature is always just right. The used capsule falls into a used capsule storage bin and that can hold 10 capsules before it needs to be emptied. You can make anything from a 1.35 ounce espresso to an 18 ounce pour over style carafe. I prefer the double espressos myself, but everything I have tried so far has been outstanding, some of the best coffee and espresso I have ever had. Each drink comes out with a beautiful layer of thick, foamy crema on top and tastes fantastic. This machine uses bluetooth and you can download their Nespresso app and connect your machine to it, this will keep you informed on the health of your machine, telling you when to run the cleaning cycle, and you can also purchase more capsules through it when you're running low. We have had nothing but good experiences with this machine. We absolutely love it!
