The WiFi 6 technology does do a better job of managing my network traffic as none of our connected devices have experienced any slowdowns when multiple devices are being used at the same time. My internet plan is up to 800Mbps download/20 Mbps upload. After running two different speed tests for comparison I am regularly seeing 750-950Mbps download/21-24Mbps upload depending on time of day. NETGEAR Nighthawk WiFi 6 (RAX30)
14 August 2023

I am very happy with my NETGEAR Nighthawk 2400 WiFi 6 Router (RAX30). I have used Netgear as my preferred brand for my routers for many years, and I have never been disappointed. I decided to purchase a new router because I wanted to upgrade. I had my last router for approximately 10 years, and it was still operational, but I wanted a WiFi 6 router. The signal strength and range are better, so I am very pleased. I have been wanting to upgrade. However, I have been extremely hesitant to make a new purchase due to my fear that the set-up would be too time consuming. I definitely want to express my extreme pleasure that the set-up was very efficient, particularly when using the Nighthawk app! No parental controls - incorrect description
22 January 2023

We purchased this router to replace our prior Nighthawk as we really like it but kept having issues, needing to restart it. A key requirement for our family was parental controls. This feature is listed in the BestBuy description but does not appear in the feature list on Netgear’s website. I contacted Netgear support to ask about compatibility and was assured it came with parental control support. Unfortunately this is false. The option is grayed out in the app. By the time I got around to plugging it in and doing the set up, the return period had passed. Very, very frustrating. I have now switched to a more expensive but rock solid Synology router with strong parental controls and automatic reboot schedule.

I wanted to get a new router to help obtain faster speeds for my computer and better WiFi performance. Not being a techie, I had no idea what to buy. I did some internet searching and then went to a local store that sells multiple computer accessories and brands. I asked for an unbiased opinion from the store expert and told him my price range. I wanted the best for my money, but without spending a fortune. He immediately pointed to the NETGEAR Nighthawk and explained what all it could handle. I have both a personal computer and a work computer, along with a landline phone, two wireless cell phones and multiple smart TVs. I had heard of the name NETGEAR before, but had never owned one. Replacing 10 year old bridged N routers
20 May 2023

Followed instructions for cell phone based configuration. Wasted a lot of time, used browser based 'wizard' like the old routers and things went much better and faster. More choices this way than cell phone. The routers work fine. I can't say they are better or faster than the old ones but they are just as stable. One of the old WNDR4500's did not want to cooperate anymore.I liked the bookend style of the old ones. The new AX2400 hang on the wall above cupboards/bookshelves and look ridiculous. Spaceman Spiff meets Will Robinson. All the wires are exposed. But cannot see the status lights with the units laying flat. Progress has it's price.

I did a little research to find a router replacement for my aging Linksys AC1200. I was having some trouble connecting wirelessly from the far side of the house. The house is not large enough to warrant a mesh set up and I wanted to keep the expense down. I strongly considered TP-Link, Asus and Netgear largely based on reviews. Choosing to do the install myself I ran into trouble with the set up app. The app ultimately hung and referred me to phone support but the number the app provided was not a good number. I called the support number that came packaged with the router. I have to say this was the most pleasant and helpful support call I have ever been on. Works well as a consumer device!

I work in IT and this router works well for it's purposes. I get great speeds and a strong connection. It would be 5 stars if not for the following: setup is wonky if you don't use the app. I set it up via gateway, changed SSID, and wanted to connect the app afterwards, but kept scanning for the default SSID. I had to reset, connect app first, then change SSID. I don't anticipate this being an issue for most people though. In the same vein, I've got a DAS that has four 8TB disks. The router doesn't seem to handle being connected to such a large storage array (setup as jbod, might not be an issue with hardware RAID). While it is slow to boot with the DAS connected it works, although the interface that displays which drives or volumes is wonky as it does not show all ... MoreI work in IT and this router works well for it's purposes. This review is waay in the weeds for most, but from my experience this router is awesome, and the fact that it can handle what I've thrown at it at all is surprising. If you need a good router, this is the one!

The WiFi router from my ISP was not powerful enough to reach everywhere I needed a signal, so I thought this router would do the job. It works very well, and I get a strong signal everywhere, even through multiple walls.I've installed and configured many different WiFi routers, including other Netgear routers, mostly with no problems, but this one was challenging.I followed the instructions to use the phone app. Every step took multiple tries, and more than once I had to start over from the beginning. With these other routers, smart switching is either the default, or can be easily set. From the Netgear app I could not tell whether this router even had smart switching, let alone how to configure it.I got in touch with tech support, and the tech sent me a link that explained how to use the browser interface to the router to enable smart switching with the same name for both bands. Why the app can't do it is a mystery to me.For others with the same question, here is the link:https://kb.netgear.com/25346/What-is-Smart-Connect-and-how-do-I-enable-or-disable-it-on-my-Nighthawk-router
