The router’s performance is generally decent, providing stable Wi-Fi connectivity and good range. Overall, the Netgear Nighthawk AX4 is an okay choice if you need a basic Wi-Fi router with decent performance. However, there are other routers available that offer better features and performance at a similar price point.

Good for what I needed

Speed is excellent, 600 Mb/s, and more than most networks offer anyway.Connection has been stable, both wireless and LAN.Set-up was difficult, but this might have more to do with the Spectrum modem than this router.Coverage throughput the house is less effective than promised; bars go down quickly after 20 feet. Good enough for most of our needs though.I don't like the Nighthawk app and prefer the regular browser log-in instead.Overall, I can recommend this router as a good competitor in its price range.

Great router

I have always had NETGEAR routers. However, the Nighthawk that I just purchased and installed is so nice! It was the easiest one I have installed up to date. The app makes it so easy to do. It runs you thru each step. I like that it tells me the speed of my internet, keeps the company honest, and I like how it warns me when I click on a suspicious link and so many other functions to keep my info safe! I highly recommend the Nighthawk. You won’t regret the purchase.

Integrity is questionable!

I bought refurbished from Amazon an Im it was compromised an I’m being targeted by human trafficking so the corruption within corporations made sure I got this malicious router! NETGEAR was fair to transfer registration to my name! Just sucks that it is a licensed NETGEAR distributor Amazon selling NETGEAR products that aren’t supported by NETGEAR! An I need support an that just confirms this was a conspired malicious attack because the criminals new it wasn’t supported! Plus I got an email saying thanks for registering product when I scanned QR Code but log in an says it is registered to someone else! So why send an email saying thanks for registering product in the first place, it was deceiving and Im sure the terrorist was well aware of that also! Netgear RAX35 V2 Review

Very pleased with my new Netgear AX3000 RAX35 V2 Wifi 6 router. Significant speed boost from my prior router - no problem hitting max speed on my 400mbps cable internet. Boots in about a minute, setup was fast and easy, and range really impressed me. I was super positively surprised by the range - Netgear recommends this for small to medium homes (1500 Sq feet). I placed this in the center of my 4000 sq foot home and was able to get great signal all the way out in my driveway, 80-100 feet from the router and through 4 walls. No dead spots anywhere in the house. Amazing! This router well exceeded my expectations.

No more lag

I upgraded from Google wifi to Netgear because I was not able to do video calls at the same time as my partner. After further investigation I found that Google wifi was still using WiFi 5 protocol which didn't allow parallel uploads among devices. So after some research I found list of routers which supported Wifi6 and finalized on this one. And haven't faced any lagging issues for about a week now. Also during online speed tests I am seeing about 20-50% faster speed for both download and upload.Also glad that it allows specifying both 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz channels separately if required for supporting older devices.

Not recommended - resets to factory defaults after power failure and more

This router loses your settings during extended power failures. I don't know what the maximum time it will maintain settings is, but mine were lost during a 28hr outage. This was beyond the capability of my UPS. Use backup to save/restore your settings.After a power outage if you don't sign in to your Netgear account, the router can lock out your browser, even if connected by LAN. Should this happen, clear your browser history of all references to Netgear's, routerlogin, and your router's IP(normally 192.168.1.1). This should allow you to access the router's configuration again.Netgear's support is poor at best. It took over two and a half hours to get this sorted out. This model didn't have these problems.The wi-fi signal (by itself) doesn't have enough strength to work on it's own in, our household, but when used with the Nighthawk Tri-Band Extender, you should be able to get enough signal for a 75 ft perimeter.While the number of ports is small, this router (as well as the extender) are connected to Netgear eight port managed routers and can handle a Windows Server in addition to a MySQL server running on a full time basis just as it would if it were running in a small to medium size business.If you need a media server in your router, this model doesn't have the USB port to do it but there is a model that does handle it (as well as creating your own cloud server that can be used to backup your mobile devices too). The previous model I had purchased had this feature but is utilized on the Tri-Band extender instead.When used with the Arris cable modem for 600 mbs, the system has a download of up to 545 mbs with an upload speed of 18 mbs. This setting may change in the area you are in.I turned off the new wi-fi features (ax) and kept the wireless b,g, n and ac going. If you don't need ax, don't use it because you will get better performance especially if you need ac. Netgear can be a bit anxious at times when new features come out (the Nighthawk series is known for that). That feature may work better in six months when firmware upgrades are available.If you have more than 14 wireless devices running in your household and have multiple family members streaming videos at a time, then you should return the network equipment your ISP gave you and go with this equipment because chances are, the ISP equipment won't handle it.Especially if you are using their router to piggyback your ISP provider's hotspot services for their customers that should be considered a security concern in your household in the first place.

Took some work, but amazing after that

I'll start off by saying I had some initial frustrations that made getting internet from my modem extremely difficult. It tooks about 3-4 resets before I finally got it right. After getting it setup, it's incredible. Wifi 6 is super quick and responsive, the Nighthawk app makes it simple to see what devices are on your network, change your passwords, and overall manage your Wifi connection without needing to login into the router via the browser. I have a speed of 300 with Spectrum and my devices can actually hit that with this router versus getting it slowed down once it's used by my devices. Overall, I'd still recommend the router for anyone who is looking for a great router with superb performance
