I am no stranger to networking and I've owned a plethora of Netgear extenders and routers over the years. In the Nighthawk family I've owned the AC1750, 1900, and 2600 (flawless). I decided to upgrade to AX and install AX wifi cards in my three laptops. I gave my 2600 to my nephew after purchasing the RAX4200--HUGE MISTAKE. This router cannot maintain a 5g connection at all. The disconnects are nonstop no matter what channel is used. Firmware upgrades and downgrades did nothing. 2.4ghz worked fine, but I stream and game on 5g and that was where the problems came nonstop. Terrible product. After the most recent disconnect while streaming music I gave up and instantly purchased the ASUS AX3000 that was sittting in my shopping list on Amazon. Best decision ever. Had everything up and running with the RAX43 in less than 25 minutes and soon after, had wifi speeds that were dead-on to our paid internet speed.So far our experience with this router and the nighthawk app has been great.Based on that experience, we would recommend it to anyone looking for a great router with easy setup.

First, I probably wouldn't purchase any other brand of router. Netgear does a fantastic job overall. This particular Wi-Fi router (RAX23) has half the range of my last router (Apple Airport Extreme from... ages ago). I used to be able to be at my next door neighbor's house and have no difficulty tapping into my router. Now I have to be inside my home to get a connection. On a related note, the Netgear Nighthawk app is limited in the capabilities it can perform (can't assign fixed IP addresses to the most common items in my home). That said, the performance so far has been reasonable as long as I'm in my home (not the driveway or street as before)

The wifi just stops working randomly. There's wifi but no internet. Detected by all my devices at home. It doesn't matter what I try. I have to restar the router several times to get it to work. Now the fun part starts. You only get 1 year warranty with this. With no chance to even chat with customer support about this. The only option for you is to either get help by yourself, pay Netgear and extra premium for extra support or get a new router. I purchased the RAX43, and it has been working great for a month, then BOTH routers on the same night factory reset themselves. No logs available since the reset clears everything. Backup these routers. Since I don't have any logs, I do not know if it was a malicious act or something to do with the routers' firmware. I could not justify dinging another star for these two occurrences, but if it keeps resetting, another star or two will have to be dinged.I used a competitor for many years (that wrt was awesome), and seen good things about the Nighthawks, but if there isn't any improvement in these routers, I will be moving on.

Also Much cheaper router. AC technology handles up to 7 Gbps. (I will probably never have ISP that fast? But who knows).
I recently purchased and installed this router which replaced a Nighthawk R7450 AC2600.After seeing some comments about others having issues with the Nighthawk app to do the installation I was somewhat nervous about what to expect.Following the app instructions step by step my experience was the easiest router swap I have ever done, and I have gone from B to G to N to AC.I love all the information the app provides about the happenings with the unit.Range is awesome and the speed is noticeable with all the devices connected to it.Streaming with no hiccups is huge plus.Not sure what I thought I could gain by going to WiFi 6 but I would do it again knowing what I know now.I would definitely recommend this router to anyone.
