Classic example of a microphone that gets you great bang for the buck. I used this in conjunction with a transformer based pre-amp (GAP PRE-73 MKIII Plus). The vocals I recorded sound professional, with that cool Neumann airy boost, present in the mid range and realistic. I bet it sounds great on other sources too. I like its small size too, it's very practical. Recommended.

The mic itself is fantastic, as you'd expect. A very crisp sound compared to my Sennheiser MK4. The recorded sound keeps its quality remarkably well even when recording at a much lower gain and then normalised/compressed back up, to a preferred hearing range. With my Sennheiser I would notice the tinny effect, whereas with the TLM 103 there is little to none of that, save in the breaths which I remove anyway.Great purchase and this mic definitely provides the quality Neumann are known for.

An extremely sensitive microphone which needs a good room and isolation to get the best out of it. If you are used to NT1-a mics the TLM 103 might seem almost too bright till you learn how to use it then its capacity for detail becomes apparent. I'm not marking for looks, value for money or durability because it looks like a Neumann, value is how you perceive it and like any microphone it is fragile.

The microphone is as you would expect a Neumann to be. Flawless sound and glad we bought the Studio Set with the cradle. An outstanding sounding microphone and a perfect addition for our studio. May buy another for a stereo set at some point.
