This is the Holy Grail of cleansers for oily or acne-prone skin. It has salicylic acid which is a must if you are prone to breakouts. It does a great job removing makeup residue as well. Careful if you are concurrently using Retin-A, as the salicylic acid can be irritating/drying especially if you’re brand new to the retinol game. If you’re a well seasoned Retin-A veteran, you should be good.

This is a really good facewash.....it controls oil and reduces acne breakouts.....really feels gentle and soft...it’s fragrance is so mild and a small coin sized amount is enough...use it twice a day!! But I think it dries your skin a little bit..but good...use it with a nice moisturiser...(I am using Neutrogena Hydro boost water gel ....and it’s best with this)....Really good...Price is on the higher side...But I think it’s worth it!!! Definitely recommended for Oily skin people with Acne-Prone skin....it’s also better than the Grapefruit wash since this doesn’t contain Parabens!! Five ⭐️

After having issues with oily build up and blackheads I thought I'd try this face wash. I washed my face before going to bed, the following morning and then the following night with this product as directed on the bottle, each time applying additional moisturizing creams/serums afterwards as I know face washes like this can potentially dry out the skin. The morning after my third application I woke up to my face being completely swollen, red and scaly with a burning itching sensation all over. That afternoon, all pores on my skin puffed up as whiteheads as if each one was infected and full of puss. This lasted for two full days, where my friends and family were concerned for my health and suggested I go to a doctor. By the third and forth day most of the infected ... By the third and forth day most of the infected looking white heads had subsided, however the bright splotchy red rash remained. It is now the fifth day since application, my skin is no longer inflamed, however it is still red, splotchy, itching and burning and now it is incredibly dry and pealing all over. I wish considering there have been so many bad reactions (I now know after reading others reviews) that this product be discontinued or there be some kind of obvious warning on the bottle! Like: "Hey, I may cause severe chemical burns, use at your own risk". I am now scared that the marks over my face may scar or the fine wrinkles from the dryness caused will never go away. For the safety of others - please consider discontinuing the sale of this product.

After 2 days of using this cleanser, my eyes are extremely swollen, red, sore and burning. It has gotten worse over the course of 2 days, once I noticed the reaction. I do not have sensitive skin at all and this is the only product I has changed in any daily routine. I recommend not to buy this and after reading multiple reviews about similar experiences, Neutrogena should really consider taking this face wash off the market & I will be warning people anywhere I can about this product.
I bought this on the recommendation of Dr Dray from YouTube. This is an affordable, effective acne car product. The cleanser has 2% salycilic acid (BHA) which can help acne prone skin. This is also surprisingly gentle on the skin. I have combination skin thsa leans more oily in the t zone and did not find this stripping or drying. For my acne, it was semi effective though I have found more effective products since. That being said, I still think it warrants 5 stars for those who are wanting to try something cheap and easily accessible!
Bought this a few days ago. Love Neutrogena. Have used their products for years. Skin was getting a rough texture, then woke up with the puffiest eyes, that I went to the emergency room for, as my whole face was red, inflamed, rough, tight, puffy and stinging! I didn't realise it was this product, I was blaming the cold weather.. until this morning, when my teenager started using it yesterday..her face is really sore, red and scaly! If you've received this many low stars, surely you should be looking into it. Save your money, don't buy this!
I have always thought Neutrogena was a great brand until I purchased this. I’ve NEVER had a reaction like this to any skincare, I’ve used and I like to experiment. I cleansed like usual, dried my face and then it was burning so bad it felt like my face was melting!! I now have bubbles all over my skin where I used this product and it’s unbelievably itchy.
I have super oily skin prone to blocked pores, and always need a cleanser with salicylic acid. I was pleasantly surprised by this Neutrogena Oil-Free Pink Grapefruit Cleanser I found on sale for $7! I actually bought 2 of them. One for the shower and one for the bathroom sink. Great for clearing up skin and smells really refreshing. Easy to use pump pack too. I've had zero breakouts since using this.
I bought this a few days ago due to checking out videos and beauty websites for best acne clearing gel face wash and came across this and decided to gave it a try. Been using it for exactly 4days morning and night. I read the stuff on your site and it states would not cause itchiness/dryness etc. unless used with another acne clearing products, but i have been using this on its own. The first day my skin was alright felt soft no dryness all. However, from the second day notice some extra breakouts but did not think much of it. The third day however my skin felt itchy, i noticed red bumps on my forehead. I use rose hip oil and moisturise my face after but still feel the need to constantly apply more moisture to my face. My skin is not sensitive but on the oily ... Initially when I had used this, I had only had a 1 or 2 visible forehead pimples with a few small spots which are not prominently visible unless it is viewed close up. However, I was hoping that the Neutrogena Oil-Free Acne Wash would be able to assist and target the visible red acne spot so after testing it, NEVER IN MY LIFE HAD THERE BEEN SO MANY BREAKOUTS! After testing it, my forehead had broke out with so many red spots along with my nose area, as I had applied some to my nose. My skin had also felt extremely dry afterwards but I am feeling way more disappointed with the extreme flaring up. I don't often write reviews but after the absolute harmfulness of this product, I have been compelled to warn others about this product. Once, again, I am extremely dismayed ... Never recommend this product!
