Nothing beats the natural warmth and sense of quality that solid hardwood timber, like Tasmanian Oak, delivers to a home. Use Tasmanian Oak Dressed All Round (DAR) timber to create a naturally stunning and high quality look inside your own home. DAR timber is timber that has been machined to a smooth finish on all four sides, making it immediately ready to use as componentry for a vast range of interior applications, such as doors, windows, cabinets, stairs, bench tops, trims/skirting, and furniture. Tasmanian Oak is well known for its durability, workability, and versatility, however the unrivalled attraction of Tasmanian Oak is its stunning blonde tones and simplistic grain, which works beautifully with other interior materials and other timber species. Tasmanian Oak’s ability to be stained is second to none, making Tasmanian Oak an extremely valuable and popular interior timber in terms of colour matching or achieving a desired colour outcome.

I am using this oak to build an aquarium cabinet. It is beautiful in colour and looking forward to see how my design and handiwork turns out.

Nothing Wrong with the timber it's the barcode labels - they are almost a permanent fixture.Tried to peel off where possible but they tear and leave paper and glue. Tried water, tried metho - ending up getting most off with sharp chisel and cleaning glue off with metho and then had to sand it to remove glue stain. Did not want to use anything stronger or better for removing glue residue (eucalyptus oil) for fear of staining the timber which would be clear varnished.Memo to Bunnings Management - use removable barcode labels

I used this outdoors in a roof cable as decorative painted stripes of timber, to replace the pine the builder put there 20 years ago. I expect this stuff will last significantly longer than the pine which really started deteriorating after 12 years.
I bought this through click and collect and was wondering what the timber would be like. As it turned out, I needn't have worries, was great quality and didn't even need to get out of the car!
It's tricky with Click and Collect when you buy timber, as you can't select your purchase after inspecting it for yourself. These pieces were labelled 'select' grade, but had sap lines along each piece. This creates a weakness in the timber, and it can shatter when drilled.
The perfect timber for making furniture - doesn’t require any planing, routers well, very smooth hard wearing surface. Found that the timber had been squared properly all around.
Have been using Tassy Oak 42x19 DAR for 3 yrsmaking folding Clothes HORSES.Labels removed with a BBQ scraper and a littleTurls
Like all timber sales, if you select crap timber you get crap timber. Generally the quality of the timber is quite good. I've used Tasmanian oak for a few small projects and I'm quite happy with it.
The three pieces of select grade timber were taped together at pickup and I made the mistake of not inspecting them at the shop. When I got them home one had a machining defect, that looked like a rough gouge from the planing process. I was making picture frames so fortunately I could cut around it. The gouge was about a third of the way along the length and about 150 mm long and very obvious. Note to self, check your purchase.
