New Balance 2002R Protection Pack High Desert

The New Balance 2002R Protection Pack High Desert is an athletic sneaker featuring a dark khaki ripstop nylon base, overlaid with suede in coordinating dark khaki and olive green. The midsole is done in Golden Cream, accented by a black tread outsole. The New Balance logo appears on the sides in black, complemented by black toggle-fasten laces. New Balance’s Protection Pack series was conceptualized by designer Yue Wu, who delved into the New Balance archives to update classic styles after observing how their forms retain their shape after years of wear. The updated 2002 series has been designed like an heirloom, built to last with durable materials and functionality, nestled under multiple layers for longevity. In our opinion, the best feature of the 2002R High Desert is its nature-inspired color palette, which will remain a classic, in keeping with its construction. The New Balance 2002R Protection Pack High Desert released on September 21, 2023, and retailed for $160.

I already owned a pair that I bought directly from New Balance. This pair was a totally different material (nubuck/suede vs leather), which makes me question the authenticity of the shoes. I’ve read online that others have had issues with StockX authentication, and they also seem to have pretty bad customer service if you do get fakes. Probably going to shop elsewhere in the future

These shoes look even cuter in person! They were so comfortable from the moment I put them on. And I always get compliments when I wear them. I'm someone that deals with buyer's remorse lol and I didn't regret these at all. I actually love them so much I bought another pair.

Great comfortable sneaker

Very comfortable and sturdy sneaker. Enjoyed these while walking over 30,000 steps a day in Japan. Also, very good for cold and rainy weather. The sand color I purchased goes great with everything. I've been able to wear these with joggers, trousers and leggings.

Great shoe, questionable service
30 January 2024

charged 2x for my order, company claimed it was a temp hold. I had to call my card company to do a refund. Quality of shoes seem nice, but review said to size up and they fit too big. I had to return the shoes and everywhere is sold out in my size.Overall the silhouette and colors of the shoe are

High quality shoe. Inaccurate color in photos
16 February 2024

The shoe itself is stellar. Comfort, fit and quality are excellent. However, the color is much more on the greener side than brown. The photos here online look more on the brown side. For the sale price, still a great deal on a solid shoe. Would recommend.

I had such high hopes

I really do love New Balance . I stand by the brand and comfort . I believe this was just a one off experience . But I received a pair of terrible quality sneakers .There are glue stains . Stitching loose and crushed box. They almost looked slightly worn or tried on !!!I am a bit shocked with the quality of what was delivered to my door .I wish I could get a refund !!! Or credit

New but dirty
10 January 2024

The shoes were a Christmas gift for my brother. The shoes appeared new but the bottoms were dirty. They had a weird orange stain and the sides were lightly scuffed. Fortunately I was able to clean them up but I was disappointed by this.

Perfect mix of style and function
28 January 2024

I bought these shoes about a month ago and I have found that I really love them. I normally need a wide width but these didn’t have that, but I’m glad because the normal width is perfect. They are very comfortable for long days while also making me look like a cool girl. I’ve worn them out to dinner and also when I’m just running errands. They never fail to make me feel put together and save my feet.

Compared to my 9.5mens 2002r protection pack. The 'RD' definitely had stiffer outsole/material construction, Less pliable, and definitely more snug in the mid foot and toe box. I did go a half size down to minimize the minor heel lift I got from the protection pack but now wearing the 'RD' I should have gotten them in 9.5. I can still get away with wearing the little more snug size 9 with the laces loosened all the way and not wearing thick socks.
