Highly Uncomfortable, very shocked. I've been trying to break in these shoes for 3 weeks now and I go back to my 8 year old Asics Gel Nimbus 20's every day; The 993 doesn't have the sustainable daily comfort I was hoping for. These absolutely no padding on the back of the shoe for the back of your heel and the tongue is also not padded as it should be. For he price New Balance cut too many corners

These are my first pair of 2002R. I’m excited to have a pair of protection packs. I always liked the style. They look awesome on foot and styled properly. For comfort, the fit is great for my foot which is quite wide and high arched. They fit snug with good lock down on the laces and no heel slip. Maybe they are a tad narrow, but nothing that won’t break in. That said, I’m a little surprised by how stiff the sole/support for the 2002R is upfront. They didn’t have that much give under my toes/front footpad like other running shoes I’ve worn. I believe they will break in over time though, so I’m keeping the high rating. Heel padding is great with the N-ergy padding.
