Needed a new classic shoe that would match with everything. They’re so comfy once you break them in. They’re a sundae narrow and very stiff at first but after 1 day of wear they fit really well. Honestly I went a half size up after reading the reviews, but after breaking them in I don’t think I needed to as they’re a little bit loose now and I have to tighten the laces to keep them from slipping. Overall a great purchase and would definitely buy another pair!

I loved the color story of this shoe in the raw sugar/navy, however the toe box was too narrow (squished toes in all directions). It fit me well everywhere else, and felt cushioned with decent arch support. I had previously bought the Fresh Foam X Lav v2 in an 8-1/2 which fit well in the toe area, but the 8-1/2 in this 550 shoe was just too constricting in the toe. A size 9 in the 550 would have probably worked better. There was a light smudge in the suede of the toe, and a wrinkle in the toe area. As a sidenote, I had requested to be notified when these came back in stock...that never happened. I had to keep checking on size status myself. Returning.

These shoes are so cute, I love the way it looks on! But the fit is terrible. I swear these shoes are made for kangaroos. Who has feet that long and narrow?! The unisex and women's 550s fit differently too. I ordered both in W 6.5 but the womens one fits so much tighter than the unisex! I don't consider myself to have wide feet so when I say these are narrow, they are very narrow! You must have skinny feet to wear these. So while they fit "true to size" length wise, they do not fit width wise. I also don't recommend sizing up because they are long. Please New Balance... offer "wide" versions of this style!
I was so excited to get a new pair of 550s and loved the colors. The shoes are comfortable and look amazing, but I was very frustrated to pull the shoes from the box to wear of the first time to realize the stitching holding the outer suede layer to the material underneath is unraveled, therefore allowing the corners to separate on both shoes. The stitching continues to unravel if worn. I am very disappointed and have always experienced great quality from new balance.
I love these shoes so much and got compliments on them the first time I wore them! Overall they’re really comfortable, but I wish I would’ve sized up one size. They originally felt fine when trying on, so I didn’t in fear of them being too clunky. But now after wearing them a few times I wish I did. They’re not too small to wear, just would’ve been a little more comfy if I did. I usually wear a 7.5 and should’ve gotten an 8.
Comfiest sneakers I own. Perfect neutral color. Can dress them up/down. I can walk in them all day. They are slightly big but not a big deal thick socks can fix that. I got my true size 6 but I truly believe a 5.5 might fight perfect. Highly recommend specially for the colder weather.
I’ve had these for a week and the thick tough leather at the front digs in above both of my big toes when walking.I’m normally an AF1 wearer and regret buying these.I can’t wear them for more than 10 minutes without my feet hurting and where they dig in to my foot is all cut.Similar complaints all over TikTok and YouTube so unfortunately seems like a design flaw.
Before buying these, I was always under the impression to sized down for some reason. But don’t! I recommend buying your normal size, or even 1/2 size up if you want to wear thicker socks. It takes a few wears to break in a little, but they are super comfortable after that! This colorway is so adorable & a little less common too!
