I usually wear women's size 8 and ordered these in a men's 6.5 in the white/white colourway. Would have grabbed womens, but they're never in stock or gone before you know it! Fit is good, albeit a little tiny bit big. Might have gotten away with a men's 6, but women's 7.5 is usually way too tight. I'm almost always a EUR39. Didn't want to chance sizing down. So far so good, but the only thing annoying is the exposed midsole foam. Dirty in 5 minutes of wear. Are they the most comfy shoes I own? No, that title goes to my 990v5's, but these 550s are a totally different look. Good shoes overall.

I bought these trainers in pink. They were really nice to start with, however, the plastic at the back of one of them keeps digging into my foot. It is like it is loose or something. The other trainer is fine. Considering how expensive they were and only had them a really short time it is frustrating. Currently even with 2 pairs of socks and a plaster on my heel it leaves a red mark and makes me limp after a certain amount of time.

No other shoe is this comfortable and looks this good all around. Ultraboost takes a back seat in comfort. Crocs don’t look this good. Basically if you wanted air forces but needed to wear them all day without your feet hurting. Can’t help but keep getting pair after pair. Last ones lasted me a year and still look good beat in.

Worth the purchase! The shoes are both super cute and comfy at the same time. A super universal pair and the gray is super subtle. Didn’t even have to break in, they were comfy off the bat. Super good choice if you’re looking for a back to school or every day type of shoe. Planning on getting a different color soon!
Cute but these are really stiff and have an oddly shaped toe box. They look U or square shaped at toe…different in person. I am surprised at the number of stellar reviews actually. These may be ok if you have flat feet or walk flat footed, but for anyone with any type of arch, these are not my favorite. In hindsight, I should have sent back but already threw the box away. Prefer other NB models to this one. Just no.
I bought these for work because I needed something all black. I usually purchase New balance because they're a little more comfortable. It's the first time I've purchased the 550. I usually wear shoes from the 800 series. When the 550s arrived I was very surprised by how heavy they were. They are a sturdy shoe with a thick rubber sole. The shoes don't have much bend in them. I'd say they feel almost like a low top boot. I've only worn them for a few weeks, but the shoe seems like it will last quite a while with heavy use. I'm pretty happy with the performance of the shoe, however I wish they were a little more comfortable.
I have yet to see any real helpful reviews for those are looking to purchase these for the first time. For reference, I normally wear a size 12US in Nike, Vans, Adidas (Jordans, Eras, Boosts, etc.). For ALL New Balance shoes I've ever purchased, going down a half size is a must for me, and I did so again with these (11.5), and they are a perfect fit, as expected. Know that you are buying a full cut shoe, meaning these puppies are meant to be laced up right and tight. If you leave an eyelet open, you're almost assuredly going to have some bad heel slippage, just the nature of these shoes. But if you can get a perfect fit, and lace them up completely, the heel slippage is very minimal, and you sort of forget about it. Regardless, don't expect these to be molded to ... MoreI have yet to see any real helpful reviews for those are looking to purchase these for the first time. The New Balance 550 is serverely undersized. Many reviewers stated the shoe is a bit larger than stated size, but that was not the case with my order. The 11.5 US size were substanially shorter than my other same size New Balance athletic shoe, and even the width was much narrower. I had to return them. It has been 10 days since return and still have not received an acknowlegement of their arrival, though the carrier states they were been delivered a week ago.
Decent traction for court play. Shoe length is OK. Upper material is super stiff; it took several hours of use to break in. Not like modern mesh materials. Toe box is much narrower than normal sport shoes. If you’re on the border between standard and wide, this is one style to definitely get the wide size if available.
