I usually wear women's size 8 and ordered these in a men's 6.5 in the white/white colourway. Would have grabbed womens, but they're never in stock or gone before you know it! Fit is good, albeit a little tiny bit big. Might have gotten away with a men's 6, but women's 7.5 is usually way too tight. I'm almost always a EUR39. Didn't want to chance sizing down. So far so good, but the only thing annoying is the exposed midsole foam. Dirty in 5 minutes of wear. Are they the most comfy shoes I own? No, that title goes to my 990v5's, but these 550s are a totally different look. Good shoes overall.

Great aesthetic. Pretty comfortable right out of the box. They fit true to size but there is a bit of heel slippage if you lace them loosely and they do run a bit narrow in the body. Something to consider if you have a wider foot. The leather is subpar. The construction on these is very solid, especially the outsole. Definitely seems like you can beat these up for a while and they'll last. They rival the AF1 in the chunky department, these are heavy boys. Glad they brought this instantly iconic silhouette back.

The. BB550 is a very attractive shoe, quality craftsmanship, and comfortable for walking and casual wear. Compared with other NB shoes, the 550's run more narrow. I can normally wear either a size 13 D, 13 2E, or 14 D in 990's, 860's, 880's, 1080's, etc., but with the 550's a 14 D is the smallest size that fits comfortably. They are also quite stiff when new and take some wearing to break in. Overall, I really like these shoes and already have several pairs in different colors that I wear often. Others will undoubtedly be added to my collection as new color ways come on line. Give them a try but err on the large side to get a comfortable fit.

I have yet to see any real helpful reviews for those are looking to purchase these for the first time. For reference, I normally wear a size 12US in Nike, Vans, Adidas (Jordans, Eras, Boosts, etc.). For ALL New Balance shoes I've ever purchased, going down a half size is a must for me, and I did so again with these (11.5), and they are a perfect fit, as expected.Know that you are buying a full cut shoe, meaning these puppies are meant to be laced up right and tight. If you leave an eyelet open, you're almost assuredly going to have some bad heel slippage, just the nature of these shoes. But if you can get a perfect fit, and lace them up completely, the heel slippage is very minimal, and you sort of forget about it. I'm a 9.5, just under the wide mark. I got a 9.5, standard width, in these (BB550PWB) and they fit almost perfectly but definitely wearable. They fit a little long for me while everything else feels normal... I might be able to go down half a size, but worried that my semi-wide foot would fit too snugly in a size 9. I'd rather have a little more room than have it too snug, even if I have to wear thicker socks or tie the shoelaces tighter. If I try to wear them with loose laces, my heel slips. For reference, I stay true to size (9.5, standard width) with the 992, 997, 2002r, 5740; TTS, wide width with 574's... all fit perfectly snug, but not too snug, on my feet. In general, I'd recommend trying on a pair in-store before making a purchase online, considering every foot is different. I didn't get to try on the 550s in person, took a chance online based on how my other NBs fit, and I'm pretty happy with them the way they are.
Clean, clean, clean is all I can say. This shoe is fantastic for those wanting a white shoe without "having what everyone else has". The sole of the shoe is very sturdy and has great control. The insole even has a lair of Fiberglass, like that you would find in a boot. (Basically, this means the shoe will start to mold to your feet, think Birkenstocks). However, if you do any digging online, you will find that the leather for this line of shoe is sub-par, and is mainly fibers with no grain coated in a thick layer of plastic. But the comfort of the shoe really stands out over this. There is a break- in period, for me it was about 2-3 days. Overall, a must have for my closet.
I've loved the look of the 550s for a while, and this was the first pair I managed to get my hands on. I have pretty wide feet; I wear an 8.5 in skate shoes and typically need to do a 9 in everything else. I got a size 9/EU 42.5, and the toebox looked so small when I took it out of the box I had to check to make sure I hadn't been sent a women's size 9 by accident. I managed to get my feet *in* the shoes, but the entire front half of my feet were so cramped it wouldn't have been possible to walk enough to break them in. Sadly, sizing up to a 9.5 or 10 would probably just make them way too long, so I'll likely just never get to wear this beautiful model from NB.
and that's probably why you're checking them out. And yes, on feet they really look fantastic and tie many outfits together. However, the leather quality is questionable. Dropped mine once and now have a little permanent dent on the left toe area. Additionally, the fit is a bit weird. Size 13 felt like the right length but the shoe would slide up and down the heel thanks to the tongue being so far forward (making for a huge opening). Had to go with a size 12 even though I end up having to curl my toes a bit cause...you know...anything for the drip. The actual construction of the shoe seems extremely sturdy though, as is usually the case with NB, and it looks just as nice in person.
Always been a new balance person my entire life, wanted something new and in-style so I went with the 550s. The shoes look great but I have found walking in them really uncomfortable, especially on my big toe. I was honestly hoping I could just return them because the fit was not right for me, but I got them quite dirty for my first wear. Still love New Balance more than any other footwear brand! Just thought I would leave some constructive criticism
I had high hopes when I orders these because a friend of mine recommended them to me. Honestly I was so disappointed. I wear size 10.5 and I've never had any issues with shoes being tight the 550s are extremely narrow in the middle to the point that it was painful to wear. In terms of length they do run true to that length. But the width is VERY tight. I returned them. the size 11 was also very tight only longer
