I love this shoe and it’s probably my 6th pair or 574s. I love the cushion and comfort. I love the classic look. If you have a slightly wider foot, this shoe does have a wider toe box that the unisex (gender inclusive as they call it now to appease a certain crowd) shoe does not have. That model is more narrow and not a good fit for most men. I have an average width foot but I enjoy the wiggle room. The color gray is spectacular and matches just about any outfit. The only improvement they could make on this model is a little more arch support. I find this shoe has adequate support but would like just a little more arch support and a little more heel cushion. These do have a removable insole, so adding your own for more cushion and arch support is an option. Love em!

Classic style with endless personal expression. That’s always the NB 574. This amazing blue and green combo a really so crisp and sharp. I only care that I love them but everyone notices them and asks where I found them. Another perfect combination from NB.

Slightly tight around the toebox, but I'm used to walking around barefoot a lot, so my toes may have splayed out more than others who wear shoes a lot. My big toes press against the inner corners despite measuring 27.5 cm which is listed as 9.5. However in NB 574s that are size 10, the overall shoe seems a bit too roomy and sometimes has heel slippage if I don't tie the shoelaces extra tight. The materials and construction are very good for the price. Maybe I would like the form factor of the 990v1 more.

I started seriously looking at New Balance for comfort and a better lifestyle shoe that is supportive of my very flat feet. New Balance has scored on both fronts. My recent pair is my third in the last year. These sneakers provide retro and contemporary style in one shoe. More importantly, they keep my feet in good shape and I can walk for hours and feel nothing. A great sneaker.
ML574EI2 Grey with Navy... looks grey & black in the pictures, but it's definitely a dark navy color! I am on the verge of being a wide footer, got a Wide and they fit fine, just a tad wide (obviously, for being a Wide fit, lol) I think I could've gone D width, but I appreciate the extra wiggle room. Tried these at work for 8+ hours, in a warehouse environment... comfy on feet throughout the day, but a little sore at the end. It's subjective and every foot is unique, but I think it's better for casual wear or shorter trips... for now, probably until I break them in. Overall, I think it's a great shoe! Excellent material & finish, even though they're not US Made.
I've been a fan of New Balance since the early 80s, i love the style of the 574, and the comfort of wearing this sneaker. High quality shoes and the sale price was unbeatable. These sneakers are a perfect addition for anyone. The retro style add a little special moment to any attire. I always get compliments when I wear these out. Comfortable. Supportive snug fit. I am recovering from a broken leg and these sneakers are great for all my PT. Definitely a staple to have in your wardrobe.
I've worn New Balances for years without any durability issues, but my most recent pair of 574s fell apart in just seven months of regular use. All I do is walk in these shoes--I have different footwear for running, hiking, etc.--and yet, one of the outer seams on these has split wide open, basically from top to bottom, simply from normal wear and tear. This strikes me as evidence of a meaningful decline in the quality of materials, stitching, etc. that are used in these shoes. Perhaps it was just an idiosyncratic quality assurance failure--I don't know--but I do know that I'll be buying my next pair of shoes elsewhere.
I bought these in an attempt to make my husband more fashionable and it works! As recommended, I ordered half a size up and it was a perfect fit. The shoe is a little stubby and chunky when you look directly at them, but the photograph really nicely and really tie an outfit together. Also they are super cushy and comfortable immediately. I tried them on for fun and I wish they still had the smaller men sizes so I could by them for myself haha.
