My son needed to get all-black shoes for his uniform and he said these are super comfy and easy to put on (velcro). They're sleek and not frumpy, unlike some traditional all-black uniform shoes, and he says they're great for running around at recess and PE. His foot normally needs a slightly wider fit but these don't bother him after a full day of wearing, even though the fabric is a bit less bendy and breathable.

Great, soft and seem really comfortable. We purchased as size 13 and the gave room to move and fit nicely on my boy. Easy to wipe off dirt from school too. I had been looking for a while for new shoes and these were great and on special at the time.

When I made the order, the product was written for Youth. So I ordered a 7 Youth, but I received a 7 Kid size which is actually for toddlers. Disappointed and returned the pair.
My daughter loves to run, dance, play tag and loads of activities that demands a nimble yet comfortable shoe. She's very happy with them and like their look. I always spend hours looking for the perfect shoe and this one fits the bill.
I bought these shoes as I wanted my girl to have all the advantages that her male classmates have running around the playground, instead of the non grippy half open options many of t girls wear. As they are all black, they easily pass our schools uniform requirements, they look light and nimble rather than chunky or heavy like a more masculine style, but the best part is that they have great grip. The lugs lean forward at the heel for stopping and back at the toes for acceleration. They are also not mesh anywhere so it is better for our muddy winters (never tested them in very wet conditions or puddles)
After several attempts at running shoes that are comfortable and stylish for my son, these were the winner. His feet are slightly wider, and we have had success with these new balance shoes.
I have had quality issues with every single pair of New Balances I've purchased for my son. They do not last.
