The 990v1 is an undisputed classic. I'm so happy that I've finally been able to acquire a pair. New Balance has been on a roll later. Teddy Santis has done an excellent job overseeing the Made In The USA line. If this review makes it to Teddy or anyone else with sway, please bring back the 587, 996, and 998. These are awesome retro models, I would love to have a pair in my collection. Please make them is larger sizes, I'm a size 15. Keep up the awesome work.

I'm so glad they/NB keep on making these classic trainers, I thought I may never get a hold on these classic. The build is extraordinary well build, comfy to the foot for a extended time wearing it. It is highly recommended for everyone that wants to stick on a classic style and comfort.

I'm so, SO happy the OG 990 was recently offered up again as a general release. I, too, turn 40 this yr and I've always admired these. The ""Version 1"" SEs are outstanding, so are these GRs. The QUALITY of the materials simply has to be beheld in-hand & on-foot to be believed. My words cannot do this soft, smooth & plush suede justice, and the Vibram sole will last for miles. I've always admired the straightforward styling and clean lines; it's an elegantly simple & smart looking shoe. And now having worn mine for several days, I can vouch the old tech was ahead of it's time & the 990 is a comfortable all-day shoe. Surprising, in a way, due to its age, but the dual density cushioning is both soft & firm. I use these shoes on my feet. After I put them on I walk with them. Kidding aside, this shoe makes me feel good, I mean reaallllly good. Walk around all day and my feet feel supported. Goes well with slim fit pants, shorts, even just by its self. Super grippy. You'll be happy. Made in America. Boston Mass. feels right. Go Redsox. I know why all these euro backpackers wear these shoes now. They are just too good at what they do. I feel like a hype beast and old man status at the flip of a tshirt. Talk about versatility. New balance customer service is horrible. The shoes look "olive"/brown and I received grey with blue. Then they didn't want to refund me initially although the wrong product was sent. Avoid this shoe.
purchased these for my girlfriend since her white turtle dove 327s were getting beat after two years. quality is amazing and I can't wait to see her wearing them out. she's a size 6 womens and purchased a 4.5 men for her. hopefully new balance gets my size in stock!
