I purchased recent 990's because of my flat-foot problems. Basic black worked well and went with everything! But when I saw the V2 in blue and other colors, I decided it would be useful with other colors of my wardrobe. They also were a little less expensive. They feel fine for my flat feet.

I love the fit and quality. I wish that the shoes I just baught were offered on sale in a wide width. I bought the D because that was all that was available on the sale. The toe-box on these is smaller then most other models I have purchased

The materials used justify the price in my opinion. The midsole is just ok, which is something I expected from a V2, but the upper is impressive and comfortable. I was concerned with the no return on these but it worked out. Went a half size up, which was another good decision. No regrets!

Been wearing 1540's for a long time. After knee replacements I tried the 990's and every pair has been great. Bought the scarlet this year and now the NB blue both very supportive and comfortable. Nice to have a little color been stuck on grey for quite a while.
These are for Daily wear! This is like my 3rd pair this year!! Not because they were worn out; but because I like nice looking ones!! Also the fit is wonderful!!
Always a good comfortable fit. Great quality. Not a fan of the USA on the back. Kinda takes away from a sneaker that could be used with dressier clothing like the V5. I bought it because it was on sale. Will only wear the American made New Balance. Definitely worth the money.
Nothing buy ggod things to say about this NB model. My first time going with the navy colorway and I could NOT be any happier. Great quality and these sneakers look excellent with a variety of different outfits/looks.
So the shoe is enormous on me and there is always a bit of a risk in buying online but that's okay because one can typically return items. EXCEPT, No matter how much I begged, they would not let me. So, I'm stuck with a shoe I cannot wear because it can't be returned for no reason AT ALL. (The shoes were never worn outside, they are in perfect condition)
Love these shoes. Really attractive two tone blue design. They are well made, comfortable, and fit me very close to size. I wear 13 2E or 14 D in most NB shoes including 990 v3's-v5's. Ordered these in 14 D and the fit is fine. I liked these v2's so much that I have purchased pairs in additional colors. Keep them coming! 1998 was a good year.
Love the 990s--been wearing them for years and years--and appreciate having some color options for them. This blue variety looks particularly good--I can even wear them as walking shoes to/from the office on workdays and they don't stick out color-wise. Thanks for continuing to make such good shoes here in the USA.
