I’m not sure why this item can’t be exchanged if it’s not one I can try on in store. Only gray is available in stores and from experience NB shoe sizing can vary between colors. E.g bought two diff color fresh foams and the sizing is very different.
I bought these because my 990v3 tore. I thought these 990v4 would have the same comfort as the 990v3 but I was incredibly wrong. The 990v4 are so uncomfortable I don’t even want to wear them.
Color is not as pictured at all. The entire shoe is glittery and the 'N' is extremely metallic/shimmery. Really frustrating that this is a $200 shoe with a misleading image that cannot be returned. Horrible customer service.
These are my first pair of New Balance shoes. I walk a minimum of 5 miles a day and fell in love with the quality and comfort. I was slightly worried about keeping the lighter colorway clean, but combined with a nice waterproofer, they still look brand new. I found they fit true to size compared with any of my Nike's, but the 990v4s seem to have a slightly larger toebox and snugger heel.
I’ve been wearing new balance shoes for the last 10 years (mainly the 574s), but decided to upgrade to the 990 made in USA shoes and have been very impressed. There is certainly a noticeable difference in quality and I haven’t gone a day without wearing them. The 990s will be my go-to pair of shoes for many years to come.
I was initially disappointed when I saw the special edition shoes on display in the New Balance store and they did not have my size in stock. They had only been on the market for a couple of weeks and already most sizes were gone and no more available. The color combinations were excellent and the best I had seen over the last few years. To my surprise I was able to find the ones that originally struck my eye on line and was able to find my size after several weeks week of checking on line. Thanks to New Balance for coming up with the new color combinations instead of the drab single color shoes in the past. The only thing I wish would be to include a wider size.
These are top level comfortable. I wear a pair of 990’s to work everyday, and I couldn’t recommend them enough. Full support. Full comfort. Great look. American made. What more could I need or want?
990 series are the only shoes I can wear, I highly recommend them for people with plantarfaciatis issues
