I have been wearing 990s for about 15 years now I think this V6 is the best looking version yet. As a 57 year old man who is overweight and has fallen arches, these are the most comfortable shoes I have found. In fact, I am retired and I wear these shoes almost exclusively. The toe box of the V6 is a little smaller than that of the V6 but they are still comfortable. I wear a 12 wide and the V6 has the room to accommodate my prescription orthotics. I cannot recommend these shoes enough. If you have foot issues and/or pain in hips and lower back, do yourself a favor and try them out. Oh, I almost forgot, New Balance includes an extra pair of laces in gray. They look great.

I have lost count of how many pairs of 990s I've bought over the years and loved them as a running shoe. Osteoarthritis prevents me from running these days and so I've switched to cycling and walking. I recently purchased the 990v6 with high hopes but must say I do not find them to be a good walking shoe. There seems to be TOO much cushioning in the heel. So much so that they feel less stable on uneven surfaces like brick sidewalks in historical districts. And the absorb so much energy that it actually takes more effort to walk than with a shoe that has a firmer heel.

Another great 99X pair from New Balance. I had been a fan of Made in USA 99X for years - sure they are premium pricing but 100% worth it. The look is classic and most of them had been super comfortable. I love this refreshed design over the previous generation of 990 - not a big fan of the "wing" on the 990 v5. In terms of comfort, this one is definitely much better than the 990 v4, and probably slightly better than my other favorite 993. In terms of sizing, I'd say this runs a bit wider than 993/990v4 though - I have wider feet, I wear 10.5EE or 11D on a couple 993s and 990v4, I got this 990v6 in 10.5EE as well and I feel it runs a bit wider - however, if I had try this on before I buy, I probably would have stayed with 10.5EE anyway.

First off comes far from true to size way to big and roomy. Way over priced for a basic mesh suede shoe where ground feel including rubber sole feel is quite noticeable. Needs more stack to become comfortable especially for people with foot issues like neuropathy are diabetes's. I was overwhelmed by how uncomfortable they really were including less suede and less style than reviews made them out to be. How about make a shoe with longevity possibly like an upper mesh suede look like the 9060 with cushion like the Vongo are the fresh foam x v4 with a sole that will be all year around friendly with stability . Let's face it some people can not afford shoes every three months especially at prices at this price that will be wore down in a couple of months . Maybe one day there will be the ultimate shoe with a great combination of comfort with looks. It's a okay shoe I guess if you have no foot issues and you have money to spend but just not for me maybe others but lacking the right combo in my case . Don't want to bash new balance they have great shoes but very disappointed at least in this case...
I love these shoes. They are comfortable. They look good. The nice grey color goes with everything. I can wear these with most outfits wether I'm wearing sweatpants or jeans. I like that they are made in the USA. The materials feel high quality.Other shoe company's quality has gone downhill and I'm tired of trying to "win" them on garbage apps with limited quantities and insane resale prices.SIZING - I normally wear a 13 in other brands. I went with 12.5 after seeing many other reviews recommending going down half a size, and I'm very glad I did. These fit perfect and they still have a tiny bit of room to spare.
The long awaited 990v6 didn't disappoint this buyer. My initial impression was that it is more streamlined and less chunky looking than it's v3, v4, and v5 predecessors. I slipped them on and the fit was spot on, took a few steps and they felt very comfortable, took a walk and I was sold. These are very nice shoes that look more modern, not like dad's shoes. I have worn them several times now for walking, light exercise, and for running errands around town. They are comfortable all day long from the beginning. I can't wait for additional color offerings to come out. Try a pair of v6's. They aren't just a remake/upgrade of their venerable predecessors. If you are looking for a state of the art running shoe to log mega miles, there are better, lighter choices. But, if you want a great looking lifestyle shoe then take a pair of the v6's for a test drive.
It's chunkier than the 990 v5, but I appreciate the sleeker modern design elements, and feel that folks will get used to it once the newness wears off and we see some other color ways and collabs. I am a size 11 in most all NB, but I purchased both the 11 and 11.5 and ended up sticking with the 11.5 for the v6. Now I wonder if that was a mistake. It's really comfortable with plenty of room in the toe box, but it looks a lot more substantial up front (wider maybe) which makes it a bit less easy to rock than a v5 or a 991. I find the 991 made in the UK's to be snug in the mid toe, and these are not at all. Materials are all high quality, but the v6 has more plastic than other versions, which some might find off-putting. I don't mind it, just noting it. The fit was a huge problem for me. I come to New Balance because of the reputation of fit. It's very hard to find 14B at your company. A true fit was not what I received unfortunately. I have retired from the Army, but when I was Active Duty in the Army the PX exchange ordered my 13B and 14B running shoes from New Balance. The shoe always fit until now, it doesn't feel like a true fit. I would order different colors in this shoe if I was sure about the fit being narrow fit for sure. It's very important for me to have this type of shoe. The only dress shoe that works for me are Ferragamo made shoes, due to the narrow fit of the shoes. I hope and trust that New Balance doesn't fail me now. The 990v6, 990v3 in red, and 990v6 in black is what I seek from New Balance.
I'm not exactly new to the New Balance hype, but this is my first pair of 990s. The 990v6 was definitely an amazing pair to start off on. I have to force myself now to wear them. They are extremely comfortable, extremely stylish, and just outright my favorite shoe I have on rotation currently. The quality is there, the stability, it's everything I love in a shoe. The materials are premium. Plus the little signatures thrown in with the Made in USA branding just adds the little kiss of patriotism. 10/10 from me.
