I usually go for classic 574s but wanted a more modern look this time. These look great and feel even better. The true test came when I visited Boston for the weekend and walked over 30,000 steps in one day with 25lbs. of camera equipment strapped to my back (I'm a photographer). By the end of the day, my feet and legs were a little tired from walking, which is to be expected, but they were not sore or aching like I was expecting them to be after walking 30k steps. I was actually quite pleasantly surprised. So much so that I convinced my girlfriend to look into buying some for her so the next day we took a walk to the New Balance store in Boston. Bought this for my grandson two weeks ago. He wears them every day!!! Tells me they are the most comfortable shoes ever. Went and bought the same for Grandpa. Won't wear anything else

I really wanted to keep these beautiful shoes and I almost did. The variation of materials with the clean seams, the (camel brown/light blue/dark red) color-way, and the price made it very difficult for me to put them back in the box. Even the details of the show laces were cute! But being 5'3" with a 7M/8.5W regular-wide foot, the narrow toe box on this 7M low-profile shoe, were the ultimate deciding factors to return them. (Bummed b/c I'm getting sick & tired of my size and width being sold out, so I was really hoping to comfortably wear a style that wasn't coveted by the entire universe.)

Purchased these for my college son. They are a good looking and comfortable athletic shoe for him to work out in. The fit is true to size. We chose the tan and dark green. So far so good and would recommend them.
I call these my dad shoes (even though I'm not a dad) but really, they're much more stylish than dad shoes. They remind me of the goonies or something. Super comfortable too. I bought them because my feet were getting sore wearing my boat shoes everywhere. Problem solved!I think these come in different widths which I wasn't aware...definitely could have used a bit wider for my fat feet. Length was a perfect fit thought.

Used to be one of my favorite affordable well fitting retro new balances...now became more expensive, fit inconsistent, and quality issues due to manufacturing lately in too many different countries of origin. I still recommend because of the style/color combos...but defintiely pay attention to the details mentioned.
This sneaker fits true to size and for a New Balance product the tongue is great it actually stays in place but that’s probably a function of the the laces more than anything. Speaking of the laces, these have a great look and they have a wet noodle quality about them, flimsy feeling, but they stay tied and hold the tongue in place. A great accomplishment for New Balance. The shoes have a chill old school vibe to them in appearance and design detail. These are not foamy plush running shoes. I feel the ground under my feet in these shoes. I use these for walking only. The ankle collar and heal cup work well for my narrow feet. The tread design is simple, no nonsense. I bought these because of the color scheme and my daughter says they look steezy. Cool.
I'll avoid shipping with DSW going forward. The box was mangled. I assumed something went awry in transit until I opened the box. The shaping innards were no longer in the shoes and one of the shoes was untied and stretched out. The previous recipient must have shoved everything back into the box they so eagerly tore apart upon arrival. This wouldn't have been as big a deal if these weren't a father's day gift. I'm disappointed in DSW not checking the previously returned item before shipping this to me. The mangled box should have been a clear red flag that trouble loomed within the box.
I love a retro sneaker. I pine for the style of the late 90s/early 2000s when all I owned were retro sneaks (some with platforms, oh how I long for them). These fit the bill. I got them in the mustard color in a size 8 (I wear a women's size 9.5) and the fit was perfect. I have a wide-ish foot; I don't have to wear a wide width, but I think because these are marketed as "men's" shoes they are a bit wider, which is nice. Lots of toe room. They're also incredibly comfortable and lightweight. I swear, I walked out of my apartment and within a few minutes two people had commented on how awesome they were. I walked a great deal in them one day and I had no issues with blisters, rubbing, or tightness. Love this shoe.
