Super nice. Love all of the layering and stitching in this Classic basketball shoe. The insole is very comfortable. The build quality and material quality is excellent.These shoes are interesting in that they look absolutely great with jeans, but don't fit my taste so much with shorts. So good for colder weather. Also note that they run a little bit on the narrow side. I have slightly wide feet and it's not a problem, but they are more form-fitting than roomy.

The seams inside the shoe are awful! We've had to cut and add sections of moleskin to the inside of the shoe because it was causing blisters and bleeding. Sucks with how expensive these shoes are!

I was so excited for these shoes but there are indents in the toe area that make the shoes look so cheap in person. I’m pretty disappointed. Also it came in a bland brown shoe box that was not a New Balance box.

Love the design of this sneaker and was super excited to wear them. However, upon arrival the toebox of one of the shoes obviously had a manufacturing flaw leaving permanent creases, ruining the aesthetic. I'd heard good things about NB quality, and was sorely disappointed in these so I had to return them.
I had thought to size down because I was looking at reviews, but turns out a 6.5 was too small (I'm a 7). So when I ordered my normal size it fit perfectly! SUPER comfy too.
I was shopping in the store for the red/wht/blk version of the NB 550 , but also, they wasout of stock ? therefore , I've made the purchase on the store website, Howevere, while Iwas in the store I made the purchase of the royal blue/wht/blk version , now I have 2 pairs.
I exclusively buy New Balance athletic shoes in size 16 and have never had a sizing problem. I do here. There is no toe room or toe width and the shoes are unwearable. I may try to size up to a 17, which would be a first in getting a shoe that size.
Decent traction for court play. Shoe length is OK. Upper material is super stiff; it took several hours of use to break in. Not like modern mesh materials. Toe box is much narrower than normal sport shoes. If you’re on the border between standard and wide, this is one style to definitely get the wide size if available.
Great looking, nice details. However when I walk in a quiet enough place (like indoors) I hear a rubbing sound. At first I thought it was the new rubber soles but after inspection I found that the stitching on the tongue rubs against the lace area and makes a sound like Velcro only not as loud.
I ordered this pair and one other. Both pairs arrived with damages/defects. When I called customer service I was told the only thing that could be done was to return them. They would not give me a replacement pair or provide any other accommodations. I used to buy new balance for the quality of the sneakers but this experience has made me think otherwise
