I love Roadrunner! They always deliver fast. The only reason I don't give them 5 stars is because I have bought many pairs of shoes from them and although the order is always right the fact is you can't try on the shoes first and all shoes aren't sized the same and you dont know how they will fit until you get them so you never know 100% if they are the right size. I have bought 6 pairs of shoes fron Roadrunner and had to exchange 2 pairs by no fault of roadrunnershoes mind you, however, it is inconvenient to have to exchange them. One more issue to consider is the color some shoes appear in a picture can look a little different than seeing them in person which has only really happened once. Love these shoes. You don't sink into them, but they have great cushioning while being pretty responsive. Great for my long runs, wouldn't hesitate to wear them for tempo runs either.

In my opinion these are seriously good shoes! I am 66 years old, make a point to walk 10,000+ steps daily, and these shoes are by far the most comfortable I have worn yet. And I just literally wore down the tread on my previous 880 V12s, which I liked as well. These just seem to be that much more comfortable, still offering the same, great support. I highly recommed, especially at the current sale price the Running Room is offering!
First to start off- I brought this shoe a 1/2 size smaller! I wear a size 11 in Asics Glide 1+2, Noosa 13, Nike Pegues 38, Saucony Shift 2...New Balance 1080 v12 size 10.5. The upper material is fantastic- breathable and wraps the foot well. The tongue is gusset which helps with the lock down. The midsole material is the perfect cushioning New Balance offers- fresh foam X. The best part of this shoe- New Balance corrected the neck of the shoe. Last years v11- the heal cup had the heal slip at times in the run. The v12 neck collar is plush and holds the heal in place. The 1080 v12 is the perfect cushion ride for a daily trainer.
NB1080v12 runs large in regular D width, size DOWN 1/2 size from your normal running shoe fit (ignore the fit tip, it's wrong). Narrow (B) runs true to normal size. Better overall fit, same cushion in forefoot and heel. Regular D width not quite as wide as v11 and better overall fit as a result. Narrow (B) is truly for narrow feet. Heel will not create the same fit issues as v11, much more of a cushioned heel collar. Extremely comfortable shoe. High arches and narrow rigid feet are better off in NB FF More v3 if you need highest cushion level, but great overall shoe if you don't need max cushion. Very well made shoe.
I absolutely loved these shoes, I work as a mail carrier with USPS. I use so many different shoes & every brand, in regards of comfort these were & have been #1. But in regards of long lasting, they will probably last you a while if you aren't walking 714 miles, they started to tear little by little but overall the shoes remained comfortable & I loved them.
I have feet that are wide from mid foot forward and skinny in the ankle area. Finding comfortable running shoes with really good cushioning has been a challenge. I went from one brand to the next and they would shine in cushioning, but not fit my foot, or they would fit my foot, but not offer great cushioning. I tried these on a whim and they check all the boxes. The last is actually wide so my foot fits in the shoe! The fabric offers a little give also. The forefoot is not as cushioned as the heel, but not an issue for me as I am not heavy on the forefoot strike.
I switched from Clifton 8 due to the shape of my forefoot. The v12 1080 has been great from the first run. I only take short, slow runs. I intersperse that with short hill runs. The v12s are the first shoe to actually fit my foot AND not cause problems for my plantar fasciae or arch. I know it has been reviewed as a firm foam...and that is why I tried it. I wanted support, not squishy. I love these shoes!!! Let's see how they do in the AZ summer.
Read multiple reviews. For everyday wear great so comfortable. For running great so comfortable. They don't have a rocker or anything so you won't get any advantage in running form. I'm normally a forefoot striker and in these more of a mid foot. They say 8mm drop but might be lower based on feeling. I'm throwing everything else away and buying multiples of these when they go on sale.
