Great for recovery runs - wide

This was purchased as a max cushion shoe for recovery runs. This is my first pair of max cushion and compared to my other shoes were pillowy on foot strike. They are heavier, but that was to be expected. One thing that I realized with this pair (probably true with all max cushion type shoes) is that they are a little less stable. I've only gone as high as a 7 mile run on them and they work great!Fit - I have a wider midfoot, so not a lot of shoes fit me. This one had a wide enough base with no fitment issues.

Just Like the V3s, But Lighter Upper

Same cushioning as the V3s, but slightly more bounce given the split heel and rocker effect. More breathable and lighter feeling upper. Very stable given the width and despite the stack height. This is my first wear review and used it on elliptical trainer and treadmill. They feel like pillows on the upper and a slightly bouncy but stable stack on the soles. Really great shock absorption. Also, less 'tanky' feeling than the V3s, but I did not kind that with the V3s, which had a much thicker tongue. I love both tongues, but really like the minimalism of the V4 tongue, which still provides ample cushioning from the laces.

Had a few major ankle surgeries after an accident. Lots of metal in my foot. Swelling, pain, could only walk for maybe 100 feet for almost 2 years now.Bought this shoe at a local store and the next day I walked slowly for 2 hours with a few breaks. As one can imagine, I tried a lot.... so far, this is the only shoe I can comfortably walk in with minimal pain. Will never be able to run again, so cannot comment on that.So I am happy! However, only 4 stars because the heel produces a clack-clack noise on hard surfaces that is VERY annoying! Did I get a faulty shoe? Something wrong with the sole?? I don't know. If my feet were normal like before the accident, I would have returned them. But I keep them, so I can continue walking. More V4 for casual wear
12 April 2023

Hey guys, novel runner here, actually I'm probably more of a yogger. Anywho, I bought my NB MoreV4 after the shoe caught my eye with its ridiculous midsole. I love bold shoes and the red ones I have are most definitely bold. After trying every sort of Adidas Boost, even the yeezy 380 which is the closest to the squish factor I feel while wearing the New Balance. It has a rocking effect for a super smooth heel to toe transition. Also has more of a bounce back than boost. If you liked Boost back in the day then you will love the ginormous layer of Fresh Foam X. It is boost on steroids lol. So yeah, happy with my purchase!

Move over Hoka-New Balance wins the plush race!
27 February 2024

My new favorite sneaker! Been wearing the Hoka Bondi and Bondi X series for the last 10 years for their plush and comfortable feel. After 25 years in the United States Marine Corps, anything less plush would cause my back and knees to ache. Hoka switched their material and design (read cheaper) and their new Bondi’s are straight awful and remind me of the old hard style minimalist era running shoes.I began my search for a new plush alternative that was comfortable to jog in and wear all day. I bought my first pair of the Fresh Foam X More v4 and when they arrived-I immediately ordered another pair!Plush and comfortable and I feel a real return of energy during my runs. Highly recommend!!!

Nice Midsole, Meh Upper
9 August 2024

The roll of the foot feels good when running, but my foot feels like it wants to slide up and down the shoe. I made a runners loop and tightened them down, but now it feels like there’s too much of a pinch. I have a pair of ASICS Gel Nimbus 25, and the tongue on those is way more comfortable. Luckily the width of the NBs is just barely wide enough, but I can see it being a little narrow for some people. Honestly just try it in a store and tie the shoes in different ways till it feels as comfortable as you can make it.

The perfect shoe ?... Not yet!
7 February 2023

An excellent shoe ?... No yet... But finally New Balance has found the recipe for the midsole softness and comfort. Don't lose that softness and comfort, never go back New Balance! On the other hand, the trampoline effect below the heel is a disaster. It removes thickness from the sole and since the sole at the front is full, that no longer makes the shoe with a drop of 4mm, but a has we can say; a negative drop -1. In time we loose comfort . It would be necessary to eliminate this trampoline in the sole or make a drop of 6mm in the next linup. But keep that softness and comfort of the midsole, don't make the mistake to harden it like before. And you should offer that softness it on more models and also in a line of hiking and winter boots.

Very comfortable running shoes
13 July 2023

I purchased these mainly out of curiosity since the stack height looks borderline silly. I run 10-20 miles per week and rotate through several different running shoes. These are excellent for what they are -- extremely cushioned and easy to run in. From my rotation, I'd say these feel most like the Nike Invincible since you are 'disconnected' from the surface you are running on. These are more cushioned but not quite as 'bouncy' as the Nike's. I guess these NB's are also possibly a little more stable since the Nike's can make it seem like you're teetering on them at times. I do not notice a weight problem with this shoe although they by no means feel 'light'. I am running oftentimes twice daily currently due to the heat and I want to keep my mileage at my goal - ... MoreI purchased these mainly out of curiosity since the stack height looks borderline silly. Quality of the shoe and quality of service from Fleet Feet is excellent as always.

Worst shoes I've had
20 May 2024

For those who wants to buy this shoe. This is a honest review based on my experience. I usually don't write reviews but I'll spend my time to write this because I'm so furious!!!!I'm a triathlete. I've done 3 full Ironman distances. I can't remember how many times I've done a marathon. It's a lot. NEVER IN MY RACING LIFE I'VE EXPERIENCE A DNF (did not finish). It's because of these shoes, why I got my first DNF.I've tried this shoe because of a friend's referral. I've read about it and based on what was described, it looks promising. So I bought it and it's the shoes that I'm gonna use for my 100 mile race. I gave it a proper break in for 3 weeks. I felt uncomfortable but I thought it was just because of the fact that they're new.On the day of the race, just on the 11th mile, i can already feel the pain on the mid part of my feet and some Hotspot are building up. I've been using the same kind of socks for years and never had any problem. So I know it's the shoes. On the 60th mile, I had to throw in the towel. The pain on the feet was unbearable. I've had multiple blisters on both feet and the pain was crazy!!!! I was cursing and so mad that I still have a lot of energy to finish the race but can't go on because of pain and blisters. They're terrible!!!! The only reason why I'm giving 1 star because that's the lowest on the selection. And again, this is just based on my own experience. Maybe some have better experience on this one. But mine was a nightmare.
