These shoes are some of the best that I have had the pleasure of wearing in a while. I wanted to wait to see how they held up for many different uses in my life. As you get a bit older (in my case, late 20s), you once again realize you have no time for unsupportive shoes and basic Nikes you wore in your younger years. Comfort is supreme. And if the shoe also happens to look good - that's a plus! I got both of those features in this shoe. Still lightweight with nice breathable fabric upper.SHORTCOMINGS: Indention and curvature under heal to better support shape of foot only ends up putting more pressure on the sides of a wide heal, giving a less cushioning feel there. Outer heal stabilzer seems to extend out further behind and arround the shoe than it's predecessor, resulting in bulkier edges and more trip-up potential. Because footbed cushion has more give overall, even though it's more shock absorbant and less flexible than V2, it still has less supportive structure than V1.CONCLUSION: It's a great 4-star shoe despite some shortcomings. My preference was the V1 minus the little "padded bricks" in the collar. If only V1 could be redone in All Black and Brown/Tan versions with improved lining durability. V1 was near perfect shoe for wide feet on concete, but this'll do.
