I came from a pair of HOKA so i wanted something just as comfortable or better and these foam runners are better for my feet and knees. I typically wear them to the gym and brought them in vacation recently where I was walking the entire time and my feet and knees felt fine. I have bad knees and typically after a long day of walking my feet will also bother me these are truly the first pair of sneakers that were comfortable all day and night long. They are so good that I gifted a pair for my parents because they enjoy walking daily and they also love them.I would recommend these to anyone that is in their feet ... MoreTheae sneakers are very comfortable. They hold up really well. In this case I would say you get what you pay for. My only real complaint is that they are not even close to stylish and look way too athletic. I wish they had a pair of these high quality foam runners in a more stylish option for some casual wear. My feet and knees would be vet happy if i had some comfortable shoes like this with jeans or other casual attire.

I've been wearing New Balance 880's since v.8 in 2019 and they are now my Go To shoe. I generally run between 20 and 40 miles per week, depending on which event I'm training to compete. I consider myself a recreational runner. The 880 is very comfortable, requiring no break-in period. I can do a long run right out of the box. I've also found that this shoe can support high mileage. In the past, I could tell my shoes were ready to be replaced at about 300 miles because my joints would ache. Since I've been running on the 880's, I've never had these pains but always retired my shoes at 300 miles just to be safe. With the 880 v11 that I just retired, I performed a test to see if I could get more miles out of them. I ran 423 miles and had no problems. Fresh Foam X 880v12

Overall I do believe they are a good quality shoe. These shoes are lightweight and comfortable to walk in. However, I am finding they are quite different to settle into as I do quite a bit of stair running. My runs are four to five times a week and when I use these shoes the balls of my feet feel like they are burning. I have probably 60 miles on them and they still feel the same. The fir is very good and my feet don't shift within the shoes. However, I would not recommend them for the type of running I do. I am giving them four stars because of the overall fit. If I would rate them as to the comfort of the run they would be a two. I would likely not replace these shoes with a like model as they simply don't fit my needs.

Initially a good fit. Great color choice.
6 March 2023

Wear with blues jeans. Initially comfortable. Other people see the color and have inquiries about the shoe. However, you would think that someone who would order a Size 12 Wide would weigh over 200 pounds. The result of someone of this weight wearing a New Balance Fresh Foam shoe, "the 'foam' quickly becomes too soft and looses its form. " The fix, make the foam more dense for larger shoe sizes in order to handle the weight for extended wear and increased and extended comfort!

Laces Too Short; Too Snug; Unstable
14 September 2022

I purchased the Fresh Foam X 880v12. I was looking for a moderately cushioned, neutral shoe due to an old football injury, which causes a supination issue with my right ankle. The laces were much too short. I had to relace skipping two lace holes until I could purchase longer laces. Being new to "fresh foam" shoes, I found them to be rather unstable. I have purchased New Balance because they offer wide shoes. I normally wear 10.5 4E US. However, I have recently been purchasing 11 4E because the shoes have been short in the toe box. I purchased these shoes in an 11 X-Wide (widest available) and found these shoes to be tight. I have high arches and my feet look like they are bursting out of the shoes. Not happy for the price. When a majority of their shoes were made in the US, they didn't seem to have as many issues.

NB 880 v. 12
23 December 2022

I have worn New Balance shoes for more than fifteen years; every two years I buy a new pair. I wear them for exercise-running and walking-and wear them afterwards. Now that I'm retired, that means wearing them every day. I've had 880s for awhile and I like them very much. Right now I'm breaking in my new pair of 880 v. 12, so I can't give them a 5 yet, but all is going well. I bought the light blue with orange trim-something new for me. The shoelaces are a little short; it seems to vary with each version, some longer, some shorter. But I am happy with my new pair of New Balance running shoes.

Quality control issues
11 January 2023

I tried on a different color in a store. The 11.5 wide size fit well. I ordered the black here in that size. They did not fit the same. While the shoes said 11.5 wide, they fit like an 11 regular. The shoes I received were also dirty, prelaced and had clearly been returned before. Oh, the shoe laces are too short as other reviewers have said. I'm a long time New Balance customer and can't find shoes in a color I like that fit. The odd colors fit fine. Something simple like black is mismatched and way too small. New Balance needs to get their act together AND please add a color or two that's more mainstream. A sizeable chunk of your customer base doesn't want wild or pastel or... colors.

Reliable Choice
13 February 2023

I have worn this particular style of New Balance for several years and have purchased a number of pairs during that time. As a frame of reference I'm a walker (suburban streets) and also wear the shoes for daily activities. The only real differences I have seen in the 880v12 from previous 880's are the shoestrings and a more snug fit toward the toe. After wearing the shoes a few times (break in period I guess) the toe area feels just fine. The shoestrings are the reason I gave only 4 stars. As others have noted, they are shorter and seem thinner. Not a deal breaker but just not as substantial as prior versions. All in all a good shoe.

Shoes Themselves Are Very Good, Shoestrings Way too Short
5 January 2023

I use the shoes for exercise walking and they work very well for that. I like the feel and look. Could not tie the shoestrings with a bow--too short, and the half-bow kept coming undone. Very annoying. I had to purchase longer shoestrings, adding several dollars to cost of shoes. Cannot understand why a brand like New Balance would skimp on shoestrings. Had same problem with last pair as well, but could use matching shoestrings from an older pair of shoes from another brand.
