If you have tried the 1080 - you will be blown away by this shoe! No break-in necessary. Ready to go, comfort approved by mile one! It is the most plush ride NB offers. Comparable to running on marshmallows! My main concern was that with it being so cushioned, it may lack stability. I was wrong. During the gait cycle, at the heel strike, the midsole collapses but not in a concerning way. It absorbs that shock and uses that energy for the push off. I love the stack height and you can feel the cushioning all the way to the often neglected metatarsals. This is the perfect pavement shoe for longer runs. I use them for a 5k with no problem. If you’re popping out 10k’s this shoe will gladly accept the challenge.

I ordered the white gold color for the fall. I already had a pair of the white in this style. I love this shoe. I have a sensitive ankle from an injury years ago and lower back problems. These are so supportive and very comfortable and stylish.

Just switched to this shoe from HOKA... much better cushioning with support and spring to running step! Also the shoe tongue is perfect length and padded and with its low heel rise my insert fits! Whew I now have a light weight cushioned level 5 shoe for my difficult flat feet and IT band sensitivity that is perfect for short and long runs!!

I come from the More V3. Pretty disappointed in this newest version. All the pre-release reviews were glowing so I expected a much better shoe. First off, I have true 8.5 sized, wide feet. The V3 8.5 wide was absolutely perfect. The toe box was wide and they didn’t squish my feet. This V4 is narrower in the toe box and midfoot causing my big toes to rub the side and some cramping in my midfoot. Why, why, whyyyy is New Balance making every shoe they create more narrow? I should not have to get an extra wide when every shoe I’ve ever owned is run of the mill wide. I had to get a 9 in this shoe as a result, and now my heel slips because my feet are 8.5. The uppers are stiffer than the V3 so I feel like they don’t have the flexibility the V3 did. Second, these shoes ... MoreI come from the More V3. Pretty disappointed in this newest version. Second, these shoes have CUSHION. I mean, I was expecting an upgrade to the V3, but holy marshmallow man, Batman. This could be a good thing or a bad thing. If you’ve got a job like hospital or as a cashier/ store employee, these will be pretty good. But I tried to jog in these and just sank into the cushion. They have a very pronounced rocker, so my toes kind of point up, which is putting a lot of pressure on my heel. When you’re walking though, you do feel the comfort of the cushion. The profile of these shoes is quite large as well, so if you’re worried about that, these are not for you. They made up for it with some good colors, but the size of these soles is not for the faint of heart. These V4s are all right. I just wish they had kept the width and the uppers of the V3s. I’ve been looking everywhere for a new pair of V3s, but they’re sold out everywhere. I guess I’ll wait this out and see how they do with the V5s
I have never worn New Balance shoes, and I never thought I would. I gave these a shot because I've tried the HOKA Bondi and they did not work for me at all. These were recommend as another option. I have IT band issues. I've been trying to find shoes for a couple of years that would not cause me any IT band pain while I'm walking or jogging, or even standing for a while. These shoes have worked for me. They are extremely comfortable. The first few steps were a little weird because it rolls differently on the feet, but I got used to it quick. These helped me out so much. I'm able to walk and jog longer now. I've had these for almost 9 months, I'm hoping they'll last for a while. I'm even going to try out the trail version of this shoe.
I have worn New Balance for years. I was so excited to try this new shoe and bought without trying them in based on past experience. They do have super cushion, but they pronate my foot out, which is so unexpected. If you need that, these shoes are like marshmallows in your feet. Sadly, for me, they are a no go.
Although this show is very soft feels like you are walking on clouds, it’s not for me. I had an achilles rupture 6minths ago and thought I needed a shoe that would help my range of motion and that would be comfortable. If you don’t have an ankle injury and fully healed this might work for you. What I found is that it’s not enough support. When I walked my ankle was in constant action which caused a lot of soreness and fatigue, bc of the drop sole in the shoe. My ankle was just not ready for this shoe. I honestly thought that was what I needed but not yet.
I went to the shoe store reluctantly. I have two pairs of six-month-old Hoka's and have had a disappointing experience with them. My thinking was that there would be no better shoe. Well, surprise. This is a shoe you want to try when you think all else has failed. The Fresh Foam More V4 is the answer to any woman who is on her feet all day and hurting all the way through. I can't recommend it highly enough!
I had a pair of 1080s that I loved and decided to try these since they are marketed as having more cushion. These are the most uncomfortable running shoes I have ever owned. Make my feet and heels hurt so badly that I can barely walk around my house, much less exercise, in them. Very disappointing considering the price and that they cannot be returned.
These shoes are extremely comfortable and cushiony, however they make a small annoying sound when walking and running. It may only be an issue if you like to creep on people but most of us runners have our headphones on anyways. I like that they made their logo reflective. They are very roomie, I wouldn't recommend sizing up.
