The style looks great but the fit is much different than the 990 standard collection. It has some straps in the inside heel that are really uncomfortable. The shoe is much more lightweight than standard 990 as well. Its non-returnable so order with caution. I'm afraid I won't be able to keep mine so I'll have to find a new buyer.

The only reason I bought these was to support a company that manufactures shoes in the United States. The quality of this shoe is A++ so far and they look cool too. Will continue to support NB made in USA shoes. They do tend to be a little longer than Nikes but still fit well.

Looks great and feels great. Clearly a quality, well-made sneaker like you would expect from New Balance's 990 line. Bit of a high arch which may take some time to get used to. Also runs somewhat big -- I am typically a 9.5 sneaker but could have gotten away with a 9 on these. Overall very pleased.

I have several pairs of retro V1 shoes and really enjoy wearing them. Simple, lightweight, and well made. This latest release in olive, grey, and blue fit great and are really fun for casual wear. Though I'm not crazy about the "green" color, that doesn't preclude me from wearing them often. Can't wait for future releases to add to my collection.
Maybe my favorite shoe in terms of aesthetics I bought from New Balance. My only complaint is so far i've had a minor blister issue at the heal. Not sure if this is shoe construction or my inability to put them on correctly. I've never had any issues with any New Balance shoes in the past. Either way I love these shoes and I'm getting plenty of compliments on their appearance.
There are no returns on these, and they are easily 2 sizes larger than the 574s in the same size. An expensive lesson to learn about reading the fine print. Stick to the models you know will fit you!
One of the cleanest silhouettes of all time. Super light weight & comfy on feet. Teddy Santis did an amazing job on these & the entire collection! My all time favorite!
The color isn't as pictured and the quality isn't what I'm used to seeing from New Balance. I'm very disappointed with this shoe. Beware - non returnable. Although this is stated in the fine print, I found this to be unfair as the shoe looks different in person and I would like to return it.
The hot red insole make my white sock red. So, I washed the insole but it still make the socks red. I can't believe it happened in 990 series. Compared to 992, 574 I think the width is smaller.
The toe box on this model is small and tight. I have had multiple other MADE in USA shoes and have always been happy with fit and quality, so when I saw this listing, even though it says it is non-refundable and I couldn't use the 20% off discount I have, I still went ahead. I couldn't have possibly imagined that not only would it fit so much differently but also, that I couldn't exchange it for a size up? truly shocked to my core.

The first version of New Balance’s beloved 990, the silhouette boasts a sleek build, here featuring hairy suede on the upper for a premium look and feel, paired with sections of mesh that enhance breathability. The sneaker showcases the classic N logo on the side, now arriving in a neutral colorway for daily wear. New Balance’s 990 series has recently been rejuvenated in a major way as the brand continues to celebrate the seminal franchise and subsequently crank out new colorways and OG reissues alike. The original 990 made waves in the early 1980s when it became the first running shoe with a three-figure price tag. In the years since, New Balance has consistently perfected the design with new versions that remain known for their superior comfort.
