I usually wear women's size 8 and ordered these in a men's 6.5 in the white/white colourway. Would have grabbed womens, but they're never in stock or gone before you know it! Fit is good, albeit a little tiny bit big. Might have gotten away with a men's 6, but women's 7.5 is usually way too tight. I'm almost always a EUR39. Didn't want to chance sizing down. So far so good, but the only thing annoying is the exposed midsole foam. Dirty in 5 minutes of wear. Are they the most comfy shoes I own? No, that title goes to my 990v5's, but these 550s are a totally different look. Good shoes overall.

After waiting to get the 550s for over a year I was so excited when I was able to grab these. They are cool looking shoes but are terribly designed. The leather is too thick at the top of the shoe so every step you take when you walk the toe creases and it literally digs into where your big toe meets your foot. Never had this problem with a pair of shoes before. Think it was either the leather was made too thick or they designed the part of the shoe that bends when you walk wrong. So uncomfortable to walk in that I have bruises and friction. blisters on the tops of my foot from wearing these. Just so uncomfortable to walk more than 20 steps in these. Sneakers are supposed to be stylish yet comfortable. They really dropped the ball with these because I can't even ... MoreAfter waiting to get the 550s for over a year I was so excited when I was able to grab these. Great aesthetic. Pretty comfortable right out of the box. They fit true to size but there is a bit of heel slippage if you lace them loosely and they do run a bit narrow in the body. Something to consider if you have a wider foot. The leather is subpar. The construction on these is very solid, especially the outsole. Definitely seems like you can beat these up for a while and they'll last. They rival the AF1 in the chunky department, these are heavy boys. Glad they brought this instantly iconic silhouette back.

Got a pair of the BB550 in the sea salt color and I love them. Softer, more premium leather than other shoes like Air Forces. The off-white bone color they have makes them way more stylish but also gives them the ability to be more casual. Nice shoes. I would say the colors are accurate for the "sea salt."4/5 stars because my feet can start hurting after a long day around the like medial sesamoid. This isn't just with me or the basketball variant but it's just an uncommon complaint from some that wear the 550s.Usually wear a size 10 or 10.5 and most of my shoes are New Balance; anywhere from skate shoes to runners. I got a size 10 in these and they fit perfectly. I have yet to see any real helpful reviews for those are looking to purchase these for the first time. For reference, I normally wear a size 12US in Nike, Vans, Adidas (Jordans, Eras, Boosts, etc.). For ALL New Balance shoes I've ever purchased, going down a half size is a must for me, and I did so again with these (11.5), and they are a perfect fit, as expected.Know that you are buying a full cut shoe, meaning these puppies are meant to be laced up right and tight. If you leave an eyelet open, you're almost assuredly going to have some bad heel slippage, just the nature of these shoes. But if you can get a perfect fit, and lace them up completely, the heel slippage is very minimal, and you sort of forget about it. Regardless, don't expect these to be molded to ... MoreI have yet to see any real helpful reviews for those are looking to purchase these for the first time. For reference, I normally wear a size 12US in Nike, Vans, Adidas (Jordans, Eras, Boosts, etc.). I'm a 9.5, just under the wide mark. I got a 9.5, standard width, in these (BB550PWB) and they fit almost perfectly but definitely wearable. They fit a little long for me while everything else feels normal... I might be able to go down half a size, but worried that my semi-wide foot would fit too snugly in a size 9. I'd rather have a little more room than have it too snug, even if I have to wear thicker socks or tie the shoelaces tighter. If I try to wear them with loose laces, my heel slips. For reference, I stay true to size (9.5, standard width) with the 992, 997, 2002r, 5740; TTS, wide width with 574's... all fit perfectly snug, but not too snug, on my feet. In general, I'd recommend trying on a pair in-store before making a purchase online, considering every foot is different. I didn't get to try on the 550s in person, took a chance online based on how my other NBs fit, and I'm pretty happy with them the way they are.
The color way is perfect for the fall and feel in love with it immediately. These are my first 550 but I went True to Size and they fit perfectly. I can see that if I went a half size down they would be tighter so do with that what you will.Overall the fit of the shoe and the colors are perfect. You get the retro but not the pain. The one big disappointment about these shoes is the fact the paint is already stripping away after wearing them 1 time. You can see the photos below.Maybe it's just my pair but I really wish the paint was better on these so order at your own risks.
No secrets here, NB 550s have recently become seemingly everyone's go-to sneaker, and I totally get it. Clean lines, leather construction, throwback style that pretty much goes with any outfit for any occasion. If you don't have a pair yet, definitely add to your rotation in a colour way you like. This black pair had really good leather quality compared to some other colour ways I have seen, and I think they're super easy to wear. I switched out the laces for beige rope and it really elevates the silhouette making it appear to be one of its ALD counterparts. Highly recommend, not necessarily for comfort, but for style and dependability.
Clean, clean, clean is all I can say. This shoe is fantastic for those wanting a white shoe without "having what everyone else has". The sole of the shoe is very sturdy and has great control. The insole even has a lair of Fiberglass, like that you would find in a boot. (Basically, this means the shoe will start to mold to your feet, think Birkenstocks). However, if you do any digging online, you will find that the leather for this line of shoe is sub-par, and is mainly fibers with no grain coated in a thick layer of plastic. But the comfort of the shoe really stands out over this. There is a break- in period, for me it was about 2-3 days. Overall, a must have for my closet.
and that's probably why you're checking them out. And yes, on feet they really look fantastic and tie many outfits together. However, the leather quality is questionable. Dropped mine once and now have a little permanent dent on the left toe area. Additionally, the fit is a bit weird. Size 13 felt like the right length but the shoe would slide up and down the heel thanks to the tongue being so far forward (making for a huge opening). Had to go with a size 12 even though I end up having to curl my toes a bit cause...you know...anything for the drip. The actual construction of the shoe seems extremely sturdy though, as is usually the case with NB, and it looks just as nice in person.
