Such an iconic shoe in an iconic series of shoes. Has that retro look to it, but the technology in the sole and the premium materials on the upper has stood the test of time. Really nice and comfy shoe all around. Great for all day wear. I would say TTS is best for this shoe. A worthy collectors piece too. I will be going for the other 3 pairs too.

Very happy I lucked up on these in the draw. Perfect addition to my NB collection. These are versatile yet subdued in color and style. Been wanting the ogs. Finally got 'em!

What's with giving a shoe you like a low score because you couldn't purchase. I don't get it. With that said, I received my pair a few days ago. Best 990. Other versions still look too geriatric for my liking. Please release more!

I was so glad to get these and when I received them they looked amazing. Unfortunately when I went to try them on, the lining on the inside toebox of one of the shoes had been overlapped and stitched together creating a bunched group of folds that got in the way of the toe. Seemed like a very lazy mistake that could/should have been caught.Other than that the shoe is amazing and looks fantastic. Feels great true to size. I normally wear 10.5 and wear 10 in the 992 but these felt great in 10.5.
I'm excited that I was one of the fortunate ones who was able to get these before they sold out. Out of the box, there were some shaping issues with the left shoe. I attribute that to packaging. I believe it'll work itself out once I wear them a few times. There was also a loose loop in the stitching of the word "New Balance" on the back of the shoe. Shoes is very high quality. I'm not really into that red though but overall shoes still look clean. Love the shape of this pair so much. Wish that cushion has lil more bounce and softness.
Everything about this 990v1 looks extremely authentic to when they made it in 82' even right down to the box. As an added plus in came with a cool little travel bag and like 4 different sets of laces. I'm not a shoe collector but I'm afraid to wear these. I almost just wanna keep them in the bag and awww at them.
I love the look, but I'm actually surprised by the comfort (out of the box) of this classic shoe from 40 years ago. The tongue and surrounding ankle areas don't have the same padding as the 992's or 993's so I had to use the 7th eyelet to create a better fit. Some may want to get a half size smaller if you have a little room left in your normal size.
like many others i'm sure, i don't wear pigskin. really wish NB would offer bovine based kicks in the upper made in US level. i go back to the mid 80s with NB and have fond childhood memories with them.
