Perfect for longer walks, quite light in wweight, good stability and support. My go to shoe for a few years already.Expensive but worth it, as it holds for a long time.

My old ones will now become my garden shoes, giving me more stability and confort while gardening. New Balance is theonly running/walking show I can get in my size in a woman's shoe - that really holds up.

This shoe saved my feet. I have inherited horrible problems with my feet. Arthritis and plantar fasciitis are my main complains. These shoes provide the support I need to keep walking pain-free. This is my second pair. They've been a real life-saver.
I bought these to replace my old 990v4 pair. I love these! I was a little worried about the violet color, but I think that adds just a touch of femininity to the shoes! They are so comfortable and I love that they are made in USA! Great shoes!
Was recommended years ago from my sports medicine doctor as being a great supportive shoe for walkers . Must be my 8th pair . Finally a New balance 990 shoe is offered in a different color other than black, white or light gray.
New Balance sneakers were recommended by my foot doctor who also wore them. I have been wearing them almost on a daily basis ever since. I love the fit and comfort. I was delighted to be able to order on line and get a great fit. Thank you for a wonderful product.
I'm on my feet a lot at work and these have been a huge improvement in comfort over my old sneakers. Dark grey goes with everything, even more-so than black. I like the lilac accent color too. They do run about a quarter of a size large in comparison to all my other shoes, but it's probably good for my feet to have a pair of shoes with some extra room in the toe box.
I have worn 990's through years of running. The stability supports my ankles and the cushioning doesn't cause knee pain. Until V5, that is. I knew as soon as I took my first step something was different. I have very flat feet but, in the past, the shoe had enough support to correct the issues from this. With the V5, I felt as if the middle of my foot was flat on the ground and my heel and toe box raised. It was so uncomfortable. I made two loops around my neighborhood and immediately took them off and put back on my 2 year-old V4's. Gee whiz, New Balance. Is this some cost cutting measure? So disappointed.
As I said, my wife Darcy does not have the best feet. The 990 is the ONLY SHOE she will wear!!! Hope new Balance keeps making, and, improving them!!!Lastly, Thank-YOU Mike for founding such a wonderful firm!!
