Great on any surface and if I use them with my NewBalance inserts, I can walk in all kinds of situations with all types of surfaces all day, without having exhausted feet. I also seem to have people ask me where I got them because they look good. Gor-tex is the icing on the cake, especially in winter rainy to snow of Europe travels. Feet stay dry and warm. This style is typically mens or unisex, so be sure to get fitted once in men's sizing to know what to order.I did not add photos, these look just like the photos in the ad/description for the shoe.

I have purchased my last three pairs of NB from Joe’s and have been very happy. However, they no longer have the model I purchase so I tried something new. Unfortunately I will be returning these shoes. They are nice but they rub on my ankle and will not work for walking or hiking.
These are cute, comfortable and stylish. I like them a lot. A great fall/winter bootie.
I just came back from 15 days travel in France. Days of uneven walkways, cobblestones, brick and crushed rock pathways and country roads as we explored this country. Even the 25000 step days in Paris were managed well in these boots. I was sore, but was the only person who did not have bruised feet and swollen ankles or knees at the end of the day. I did use the CFX premium cushion insoles with these (a little worried to see them on final clearance on this site...) On a side note, I had several people ask me where I got these during my travels (they very disappointed that it was American purchase due to inability to do the same), apparently these are considered stylish in France at this time. They're so comfortable on my feet and not so heavy like other boots.I used them for a trip to Las Vegas and they held up pretty good.
Feels it's more like water repelling, not proof. Leaks water in after only few days. Uncomfortable lace closures, i only bought it because it was cheap..
didn't seem to be up to the usual new balance quality. was a little hard breaking them in the ankle cuff kind of rubs in the wrong spot like it should be a little higher to cover the ankle or something.I did put the insole in and that helped. after reading the reviews seemed like most people loved themmaybe I got a bad batch.
