I usually wear women's size 8 and ordered these in a men's 6.5 in the white/white colourway. Would have grabbed womens, but they're never in stock or gone before you know it! Fit is good, albeit a little tiny bit big. Might have gotten away with a men's 6, but women's 7.5 is usually way too tight. I'm almost always a EUR39. Didn't want to chance sizing down. So far so good, but the only thing annoying is the exposed midsole foam. Dirty in 5 minutes of wear. Are they the most comfy shoes I own? No, that title goes to my 990v5's, but these 550s are a totally different look. Good shoes overall.

No other shoe is this comfortable and looks this good all around. Ultraboost takes a back seat in comfort. Crocs don’t look this good. Basically if you wanted air forces but needed to wear them all day without your feet hurting. Can’t help but keep getting pair after pair. Last ones lasted me a year and still look good beat in.

Worth the purchase! The shoes are both super cute and comfy at the same time. A super universal pair and the gray is super subtle. Didn’t even have to break in, they were comfy off the bat. Super good choice if you’re looking for a back to school or every day type of shoe. Planning on getting a different color soon!

The shoes are comfy and look nice. My only complaint is that the shoe came with a scuff mark on one the shoes. Thats why I took 2 stars away. It was too out of the way for me to return the shoe so I just kept them. I wish they wouldn’t have came with the scuff mark. Still love the shoes and will definitely buy in other styles.
Cute but these are really stiff and have an oddly shaped toe box. They look U or square shaped at toe…different in person. I am surprised at the number of stellar reviews actually. These may be ok if you have flat feet or walk flat footed, but for anyone with any type of arch, these are not my favorite. In hindsight, I should have sent back but already threw the box away. Prefer other NB models to this one. Just no.
Great aesthetic. Pretty comfortable right out of the box. They fit true to size but there is a bit of heel slippage if you lace them loosely and they do run a bit narrow in the body. Something to consider if you have a wider foot. The leather is subpar. The construction on these is very solid, especially the outsole. Definitely seems like you can beat these up for a while and they'll last. They rival the AF1 in the chunky department, these are heavy boys. Glad they brought this instantly iconic silhouette back.
Overall the shoes are very nice and the soles are very comfortable. One major issue that made me consider returning the shoes is the area right above the big toe. It was incredibly painful walking with the shoes for the first week but now that I've had the chance to break them in, it's a non-issue.
I have yet to see any real helpful reviews for those are looking to purchase these for the first time. For reference, I normally wear a size 12US in Nike, Vans, Adidas (Jordans, Eras, Boosts, etc.). For ALL New Balance shoes I've ever purchased, going down a half size is a must for me, and I did so again with these (11.5), and they are a perfect fit, as expected. Know that you are buying a full cut shoe, meaning these puppies are meant to be laced up right and tight. If you leave an eyelet open, you're almost assuredly going to have some bad heel slippage, just the nature of these shoes. But if you can get a perfect fit, and lace them up completely, the heel slippage is very minimal, and you sort of forget about it. Regardless, don't expect these to be molded to ... 550s look amazing but the quality of the build is horrible. stiff pieces of material stiched heavily in a certain area over the inside of the shoe causes sever pain to the foot. many people say it only happens on thier left foot but for me both shoes were painful. never had a new shoe hurt this bad
Always been a new balance person my entire life, wanted something new and in-style so I went with the 550s. The shoes look great but I have found walking in them really uncomfortable, especially on my big toe. I was honestly hoping I could just return them because the fit was not right for me, but I got them quite dirty for my first wear. Still love New Balance more than any other footwear brand! Just thought I would leave some constructive criticism
