If you have tried the 1080 - you will be blown away by this shoe! No break-in necessary. Ready to go, comfort approved by mile one! It is the most plush ride NB offers. Comparable to running on marshmallows! My main concern was that with it being so cushioned, it may lack stability. I was wrong. During the gait cycle, at the heel strike, the midsole collapses but not in a concerning way. It absorbs that shock and uses that energy for the push off. I love the stack height and you can feel the cushioning all the way to the often neglected metatarsals. This is the perfect pavement shoe for longer runs. I use them for a 5k with no problem. If you’re popping out 10k’s this shoe will gladly accept the challenge.

I wanted to get a new black pair of shoes for the gym and running. I got these for my birthday and was super excited! Still am. My only issue is that they are more of a dark navy blue color than they are black. I went to the store to exchange them, and the ones online have the same product number as the ones i got for my birthday. It’s not the end of the world, but I was really excited about getting the “black & starlight white” color and not something else. Just a HEADS UP for anyone else looking at these. Other than that, they look good and I’m sure will work out fine.

I purchased a pair of these because I was looking for something for my work. They felt great when I tried them on at the store. I could felt them make contact with all areas of the soles of my feet without squeezing them. However, after wearing them for two, 14 hour shifts as a nurse my legs and back hurt so much I couldn't hardly walk. A week later I was at the chiropractor receiving a brace. Currently I can get out of the brace ,I have tape on my back, and using massage to relieve pain and inflamation. These shoes caused a subluxation of my spine and wearing them for such a long period caused my back stress trying to stabilize from the extra foam. They may be ok for shorter time frames of wear but not for a nurses schedule like my own.

I have a super bad knee due to an autoimmune condition. I was looking for a great walking shoe. I have a pair of Hokas and they were very good. However, they were also very ugly. I found these New Balance and was super impressed with the color options. They also have maximum cushion. So glad REI lists the cushion rating as a category in their running shoes. I love these shoes! 6 stars if possible!
The color on the website is absolutely not the color they are. They are more of a grey black and have silver sprayed over the top of the white base. I’d ordered two pairs, both were wrong. The color name on the box was different to that on the site. I thought I’d just been sent the wrong shoes. Nope! When I contacted customer service, both on chat and in email, they were terrible. Refused to admit they were wrong. Told me I had the right shoes. No taking responsibility. I’d needed them for a specific event, they didn’t care. Apparently the ones in the image (just black top with white base) do not exist!! They are supposed to be dark grey with silver spray. Still not changed the sales images though. I come from the More V3. Pretty disappointed in this newest version. All the pre-release reviews were glowing so I expected a much better shoe. First off, I have true 8.5 sized, wide feet. The V3 8.5 wide was absolutely perfect. The toe box was wide and they didn’t squish my feet. This V4 is narrower in the toe box and midfoot causing my big toes to rub the side and some cramping in my midfoot. Why, why, whyyyy is New Balance making every shoe they create more narrow? I should not have to get an extra wide when every shoe I’ve ever owned is run of the mill wide. I had to get a 9 in this shoe as a result, and now my heel slips because my feet are 8.5. The uppers are stiffer than the V3 so I feel like they don’t have the flexibility the V3 did. Second, these shoes ... MoreI come from the More V3. Pretty disappointed in this newest version. Second, these shoes have CUSHION. I mean, I was expecting an upgrade to the V3, but holy marshmallow man, Batman. This could be a good thing or a bad thing. If you’ve got a job like hospital or as a cashier/ store employee, these will be pretty good. But I tried to jog in these and just sank into the cushion. They have a very pronounced rocker, so my toes kind of point up, which is putting a lot of pressure on my heel. When you’re walking though, you do feel the comfort of the cushion. The profile of these shoes is quite large as well, so if you’re worried about that, these are not for you. They made up for it with some good colors, but the size of these soles is not for the faint of heart. These V4s are all right. I just wish they had kept the width and the uppers of the V3s. I’ve been looking everywhere for a new pair of V3s, but they’re sold out everywhere. I guess I’ll wait this out and see how they do with the V5s
Had a few major ankle surgeries after an accident. Lots of metal in my foot. Swelling, pain, could only walk for maybe 100 feet for almost 2 years now. Bought this shoe at a local store and the next day I walked slowly for 2 hours with a few breaks. As one can imagine, I tried a lot.... so far, this is the only shoe I can comfortably walk in with minimal pain. Will never be able to run again, so cannot comment on that. So I am happy! However, only 4 stars because the heel produces a clack-clack noise on hard surfaces that is VERY annoying! Did I get a faulty shoe? Something wrong with the sole?? I don't know. If my feet were normal like before the accident, I would have returned them. But I keep them, so I can continue walking. I've got weird feet issues like fallen arches, a corn on the outer edge of one foot and another one on the bottom of my other foot. Needless to say, finding shoes that feel comfortable requires a lot of trial and error. I went to try a bunch of New Balance shoes (1080 v13, 880, More v4) at my local store and the pair I knew right away was comfortable are the More v4. I felt no pressure on my corns and it felt like the last used on this shoe conformed to my foot shape better than the others. The toe box was spacious and my heel felt locked in. I ended up buying two pairs.
Best comfort shoe for CRPS and PsA. I have struggled to find comfortable shoes that I can wear without causing pain. These X Foam More are a game changer for me. I’ve just bought a new pair to replace my 1st pair. I’m now making the 1st pair my slippers for around the house as they are still comfy, just worn down enough to warrant a replacement. They lasted about a year which is great in my book with my foot conditions. I was buying a pair every 3 months of another popular brand before I found these MAGIC SHOES!
Great shoes for walking though they are almost too squishy for running. Has that unstable marshmallow feeling like you’re sinking with every step. No energy return or propulsion. I’ve ran 18 miles in them so far and still on the fence. If you want a super squishy recovery shoe or walking shoe those these may be for you. Fits true to size with a nice wide toe box. Probably the best color way I’ve seen in a shoe.
