I erroneously thought this was extendable having previously used one that looked identical and was extendable by another 3-4 ft, spoiler it isn’t.Other than that it’s fine. The pull function to operate it is a bit disconcertingly long, you have to practically pull the middle section down the whole length of the second section which makes operating it a bit haphazard and effectively reduces the length.The jaw mechanism is great and chops through stuff like it isn’t there.Overall it’s good but doesn’t really give you much more reach than a pair of long handled loppers held at arms length.

I already have the longer telescopic version but purchased the lighter and shorter version for closer range work. I like these Fiskars pruners Range as they are really easy to use.Arrived promptly we’ll packaged (the courier let it fall on the floor when we opened the door, which he used to lean it against) Luckily no damage.However, the Lock mechanism - big orange button by the blades - curiously is the wrong way around: pointing the arrow to the Locked symbol actually unlocks the cutting part and vise versa... not attempted to unscrew to see if it can be put right as it works in its contrary way. No complaint otherwise

Cuts thick branches, convenient, very well made

Very well made and serviceable. Used to have the steps out and cut our willow tree by hand so this definitely helps as half the time the steps would be somewhere awkward to get at and Id give up before even starting! You only need the smaller model as the larger one would be toomuch for most say up 10ft. Depending on your reach. Cuts thickness wise a bit more than the 30mm stated. Overall very pleased as its convenient to use quickly.

Easy to use and does a good job

I bought this about a month ago and have used it twice. Once on a mango tree, the other on an orange tree. Cuts smaller branches really easily and isn't too heavy. I'm in a wheelchair and have been able to use it myself instead of having to pay people to come and prune the tree which is awesome. So if I can use it sitting down I'm sure most people would find it simple to use when standing.

Excellent online choice

Having chosen it online and not being absolutely sure about its suitability the Pruner is exactly what I expected and ideal for the task I needed it for - reaching the higher parts of my avocado tree to harvest the fruit and to trim the tree at the same time. The pruner is strong, sturdy, sharp and very easy to use. The other tools are for Christmas presents - again, sturdy and easy to use.

a wonderful addition to my armoury of cutting gear. Allows me to prune my fruit trees and hedge without resorting to ladders. Easy to use. Delivered as promised when purchased even if courier was later than tracking suggested. All in all a great item at a very good price.

Ok Tree Pruner Easy to Use and Fit for Purpose

I bought this about a month ago. It is works as advertised and is easier to use than other products with external cords. The length or rather height is not adjustable or extendable so it really only works from ground level to bushes/trees about 2.5 metres. This works for me in my garden but for higher trees it does work without other equipment. For what it does it works quite ok and is not at all complicated in it is operation. No assembly is needed and it works straight away with adjustment. It is probably a tad expensive but does save the need for getting someone to trim those higher bushes and low trees. I am not sure about durability but if it is looked after and light foliage is cut it will probably last although I am not so sure about the long warranty which ... MoreI bought this about a month ago. Bought this 4 months ago and Im very pleased with how it performs. First of all I used the sawing end as a saw and put some pressure on it and that made it bend, then I realised you do not need to put too much pressure and it just works itself. . It works really well, both the saw and the pruner. Very happy with product - as usual with Mitre 10 the goods were sent quickly....

Very good, durable pruner

I was motivated to comment by other comments wondering about durability. I've had an earlier version (it doesn't have the yellow blade guide and the puller at the bottom is slightly different) of this pruner for a long time, probably around 20 years. My usage level is light - once or twice a month. I used it today and it's as good as the day I bought it.Because it's so light, it's good for reaching out horizontally. Our house is on the side of a steep hill. I can prune the tops of trees in the front garden by reaching out from the 2nd level deck. I'm 73 and my upper body strength isn't very impressive.

Works as advertised

This thing does exactly what it says on the tag. People who give this less than 5 stars are clearly trying to use it for an unintended purpose. Seriously, who complains that it doesn't extend when it never claims to? Buy the bigger one doofus. Very easy to use. I highly recommend it.
