The idea behind these is cool and the execution was great overall. The only thing that is a huge mark on what is a great shoe, is the lacing systems durability. The reflective laces are rough textured and slowly saw through the straps. Which is a problem because you can't wear the shoe when the lacing breaks. Of all the things that could lack durability, the lacing system is a deal breaker. However, I can not stress enough how awesome everything else about the shoe is. The react out-sole with real tread is amazing and the strong loop on the back is fantastic when you want to pull them on fast. As long as you get the correct size, they are very comfortable. It should come as no surprise that the comfort on these are above average. They sport the same soles as Nike's flagship running shoes but in a more urban design. I am a size 10US in 95% of all my Nikes. These however ran very small. I had to return them the first time to go 10.5US. They fit perfectly however the overall bulk of the shoes did increase. It doesn't bother me though because the black/purple ACG colorway was just so clean!

These are amazing shoes that run very small. After ordering 1/2 size up I had to return and get a full size up because my toe was hitting the end of the shoe. They are very comfortable and light, they feel solid, and the details in the design are really well thought out. I ordered the all black and they exceeded expectations. They look even better than online. I am tempted to stockpile a second pair. I'm a big ACG fan from way back but I was hesitant about the ripstop material when I read about it. Now it's like I want all my shoes to be like this. I think these are right up there will some of the best ACG stuff over the years.
I highly recommend the Terra Gobe. I am traditionally a size 12 in Nike (the Epic React Flyknit 2 fits me great in 12). I went a full size up to 13 and the Terra Gobe fits well, in fact the toe box is slightly wider and taller than the Epic React. Thanks to prior reviewers, I put in soft cotton laces that won't grind away the eyelets. Note, this shoe is NOT waterproof. I tested it with a garden hose and got wet socks. But the upper appears very light and strong and more abrasion resistant than knit fabric. Nike has a great concept here but please upgrade the eyelets and rectify the sizing. What I like most is the rugged and durable outsole that still allows for flex. The React foam feels a bit stiffer and more ruggedized that in my React-based court shoes, which makes sense for the purpose of these shoes. The combination of laces with multipoint straps provides a very locked in feel. The loop at the back is intended to help get the shoe on, but the loop opening is vertical which is different and takes some getting used to versus pull loops on my court shoes. Also, the heel cup is rigid all the way to the Achilles heel area. Have always had traditional footwear for hiking; usually shoes rather than boots ... but wanted to try something akin to a trail running shoe but with more stability because of carry a hefty pack ... and these are the absolute sure thing for that.Very secure footing even on wet rock, roots or any other technical trail ground; superb support of foot and suptremely comfortable ... wonder why it took me so long to try ACG Nike gear!!!
I saw a lot of comments saying to size up, so I went in store to try these on. The sizing was the exact same as the other shoes there, I am a 10.5 and they fit perfectly. I did notice that most of the sizing complaints came from people with larger shoe sizes, but it was not the case for me. After a 5 mile run in these, they are very comfortable, only thing to note is that they are definitely not suitable for all climates, these are probably the warmest sneaker type shoes that I have ever worn. While I did appreciate this as it is 20 degrees were I live, that is not the case for everyone and I would not recommend these for hot climates.
I was thinking that I've found my shoes. Really. I travel a lot and I can't carry lots of stuff with me. So in these ones I:- were as daily shoes;- run about 3-4 miles every other day;- do light trails every week.That's it. And I love them. Traction, comfort, breathebility, support - everything is cool.And then I noticed that they started to tear at the folds in front of both sides of the shoe. Check pictures.I really-really hope that this is just this particular pair and Nike can assist with changing it, but it is what it is.Feeling frustrated... =((
