I grew up in St. Louis and was excited to get a fresh pair of “White Ones” as they are a city staple. basically the shoe is all Velcro and you can remove and change out different areas to change the look of the shoe. The unboxing was cool and there is a nice display board that you can store the changeable items. It came with black accents that you can add so it does look pretty cool against the white contrast of the shoes (see pictures). I think the ideal around these shoes was crazy cool however I’m not sure sure your true sneakerhead would rock them. Since every panel is basically Velcro into the shoe you can see the seams and areas where the panels are sticking up so I makes the shoe look kind of bulky. The shoe felt great! It felt exactly like the AF1 I used to wear many years back so it was nice to see the quality and fit was exactly the same across the board of all the AF1 I wear. The design of the shoe was definitely unique. Something I had not seen before. At first I was a little thrown off with just the overall “what to do with the shoe/how to interchange logos and colors”. But as I continued to wear them, the shoe gradually grew on me and I started to think about the rareness and cool factor behind wearing them and having the ability to change colors based on my outfit. These shoes are great. I love the versatility of being able to create my own shoe. They work from the basketball court to taking my dog for nice long walks. The best part is not having to worry about getting dirt on them. If a part gets dirty I can un Velcro it and clean the dirty part. They’re a bit loud to start. The Velcro rubs together, but after wearing them a dozen times and adjusting the placement of the interchangeable pieces they wear into place real nicely. I’m looking forward to being able to increase my collection of interchangeable pieces so I can keep matching my shoe to the rest of my outfit.

The removable patches on the shoes were very cool and once switched out with the other pieces that came with the shoes, you’ll have a totally different looking shoe. Along with the shoes itself, you can also find black shoe strings, black Nike swooshes, and black Nike AF1 labels. With the shoes being Velcro in some areas I did notice that hair from myself or my animals would get stuck in it and it was a hassle to have to keep cleaning them out. This is one of the more unique shoes I've ever owned. It has the traditional clean look of the nike all-whites but it is stitched with real leather. The inside has a lot of cushion and bounce to let you wear this all day. I stand all day and my feet felt great after a full day in these. The design is really ingenious too. The leather is stitched to minimize creases and move with your step so that it does not bed. Some traditional leathers shoes i have are not this flexible and show wear pretty badly. This shoe will last a long time from the construction. This is all before recognizing this is an airforce 1 style that works anywhere. BIG BIG fan of this and will be my new day shoe for any activity.

The sizing runs big length wise. Average in width, even for those who have wide feet. You shouldn’t have a problem rocking these shoes if width is a concern, don’t let the slim design fool you, they are roomy. I do advise to size down since they run big in length. The sole is solid, not as flexible as a running shoe, but it is comfortable due to the cushioned insoles. I wore them throughout the day and my feet didn’t hurt or seem to bother me in any way. I wasn’t running in them but wore them to go out to dinner and run errands around town. They are a bit on the heavier side if you’re into lightweight shoes though. Overall I think it’s a great shoe and the the new design didn’t compromise the integrity of the original design.One thing that I really liked about the shoe is the interchangeable Nike swoosh. Going from white to black is pretty cool! It’s like having two different pairs of shoes. Personally I prefer to switch out the swoosh, the detachable leather velcro in the back above the heel and the one on the tongue of the shoe to make it pop. Having the back bare and exposing the plain velcro with the embroidered Nike AF 1/1 is also something I liked about the shoe. It’s neutral but different at the same time which makes them stand out. The only thing I would change about this shoe is the removable leather velcro on the entire shoe. You can’t customize the rest of the shoe and therefore it’s kind of pointless unless you want wear them bare with the other leather velcro attachments. The shoe is white and all the removable parts attract dirt and I can foresee dirt getting trapped in between all the seams. That’s one flaw I see in the shoe and something I would change. The concept for the design is great, very unique and it would appeal to the young generation and shoe enthusiasts such as myself.

I love the fact that you can customize how you want your shoes to look! They come with various pieces that you can swap out on different parts of the shoe so that you can really make them your own. I usually wear a wide size shoe, but these fit pretty comfortably after loosening the laces. The durable soles made walking long distances pretty easy on my feet. The biggest downside with the whole shoe made of Velcro is that the more you wear them, some parts will loosen up a bit and not fit as close together or bunch up in some areas. You can also hear the sound the Velcro makes while walking, which reminds me of the sound of a diaper, so it’s a little awkward. Otherwise, really nice shoes with great customization.

The white looks clean but it looks wide and big and has that Frankenstein look. The black doesn’t make it appear as wide and big. It makes u focus on the black velcros. It’s just a strange shoe but cool because no shoes out there have this capability. The fit was snug and felt a little tight but I think it’s the style of the shoe. Even though I got laughs from friends and family, my son thought it was cool on me.
