Inspired by the underground rave scene of St. Petersburg in post-Soviet Russia, the Nike women’s Air Force 1 Fontanka ‘Yellow Strike’ showcase a reconstructed build in a neon monochromatic palette. The leather upper projects a DIY aesthetic, highlighted by offset layers and wayward stitching. Tonal synthetic suede is utilized on the Swoosh and heel tab, while doubled-up tongues are constructed from soft textile. The sneaker’s one-note finish is disrupted by a white ‘cassette tape’ block of Nike React cushioning embedded in the midsole. Underfoot, the rubber outsole is split down the middle, with the two halves seemingly pieced together in misaligned fashion.
