Air Max 270s don’t stand the test of time.

For the styling, I give the shoes a 5 star rating, same for comfort and fit. For durability and quality of materials, it has to be a 1. When I saw the bottom of the shoe, I questioned how long they would last. I bought multiple pairs and colors, but the Black/Bright Crimson/Blue/White colorway was my go-to. It’s approx. two years later and they’ve all but fallen apart. The right air cushion has deflated and the sole is almost completely worn. I’m not hard on my shoes and I don’t wear them everyday Mostly on weekends. Gone are the days of Nike shoes being made with quality, but pricing just seems to increase. I won’t be buying anymore of these.

Comfortable but flawed design!

I really wanted to love this shoe. It was comfortable and i could wear it for extendable periods of time. However, it has one very fatal flaw: Within 10 days of use, I noticed scruff marks on the inner facing air bubble. They look really bad on an otherwise perfect pair of black sneakers. I purchased black soleley for the reason that dirt wouldnt show and this was a complete bummer. I returned the shoe. I would recommend that Nike redesign the plastic of the air bubble to make it less prone to scruff marks. A quick google on air max 270s shows that this is a pretty common issue and folks have resorted to all kinds of mitigations to fix it. I wouldn't expect something like this for a brand new shoe.

Great Look, Questionable Quality

I bought these shoes less than a year ago. I love the look of the shoes but any lateral movement (e.g. playing casual tennis) caused the soles to ride up the side and it was very uncomfortable, that was noticeable straight away. I had to adjust the sole but it’s as if they were unsecured or unglued. Also holes in the mesh appeared very quickly at the toe and both edges of the toe flex of one shoe. For $160, this should absolutely not be the case.

Great design. Color palette coordinator , needs to get a major upgrade
12 May 2024

This is by far one of my favorite Nike pair of shoes. I got the one that has the green heel with everything black. I wish this had the option of customize it, since all of the others designs are not appealing. They feel incredibly bad, it is unfortunate since the based is so great but the color pallet of the options are atrocious or simply boring and there’s no in between. Sad to the one I got is not longer available, I’d like to re order the same pair to subscribe the ones I have that are getting in bad condition.

Like and Dislike

Likes: Looks & Comfortable. I bought 4 colorways. Really like walking in them.Dislikes:Lining inside above is so thin, now there are holes on the crease, on all 4 pairs; kinda embarrassing. The heel is not thick enough therefore they don't last very long.On one pair, the heel on the right shoe now has a hole and is now flat, can't wear this pair anymore. On a second pair, same issue, will have a hole on the heel very soon and will be flat and unwearable. One a third pair, I stepped on a tack in the park/grass, now flat and unwearable and I only wore it a few times. So on my 4th pair I mostly wear it indoors only.I didn't get my money's worth so I will not buy again and don't recommend to others. I expected better from Nike. Disappointed.

Needs better quality control…
18 December 2023

Ordered *early* as a Christmas gift for my son. I’m glad I checked the shoes before wrapping them! The box came damaged (no biggie) but upon further inspection, noticed one of the shoes looked aged. Maybe a display pair? No inside tissue wrapping like new Nike shoes normally arrive. These look to be clearly damaged and the fact that Nordstrom pegged them on an online order is frustrating. I’m now forced to hunt them down a week before Christmas. Please get better quality control on online orders!

Poor Warranty Service from Nike
4 March 2024

My son purchased these shoes with the money he had earned for school clothes. After owning them for over a year his left shoe went flat. We were excited to learn Nike warrantied the shoes for two years from the manufacture date and began the warranty process. Dicks instructed us to call Nike to file a warranty claim. Now we stand 2 months later and still no voucher from Nike. We have called Nike several times and each time they are polite but unwilling to expedite the claim. We just keep being told the voucher has been mailed out and should be there any day. Well that claim is no longer ringing true. Nike refuses to just give a credit for their online store or compensate the for the 2 month delay. Frustrated, just frustrated.

Poor quality
19 November 2023

Purchased these for general use...gym/walking. After less than 30 days, the top of the shoe near the toe area was tearing through (and yes I wear a thick sock.) The material is stiff and not well ventilated. The sole provides little comfort when walking for extended periods of time. My expectation with the Air Sole at the heel, the comfort level would be much higher. Paid $140 and was disappointed with the overall quality and comfort. Look cool but would not recommend.

Poor quality for a Nike shoe. Dicks has horrible return policy.
20 March 2024

These shoes were purchased a month ago. The inside sole is falling out. I went to return to Dicks since I am within their 90 day return policy. Dicks will no longer take any Nike or Adidas shoe for exchange/refund. You have to go thru Nike or Adidas warranty program. Nike will not exhange/refund since these our outdated shoes. They will only take shoes within a 2yr date. These shoes are dated 2/2022. I am now out $160. Think twice before purchasing this style or any shoe from Dicks Sporting Good.

these shoes wear out quickly
4 June 2024

I’ve been wearing Nike sneakers for the past 25 years and never had a problem until this one. And I’m a 50 year old guy, I wear these shoes, maybe twice a week to do moderate workouts. After about four months, the air pillow on the left shell suddenly collapsed. I couldn’t walk in the shoe or use it anymore because it was uncomfortable. I wrote to Nike let them know that the shoe seemed to be defective and they told me that it was from normal wear and tear. The quality of the product seems to have diminished. My new favorite brand is Hoka.
