Nike Air Max 95 King of The Mountain

The Nike Air Max 95 “Japan” is a colorway of the vintage performance running shoe that shows appreciation for the country’s influence on American fashion. A September 2021 release, the “Japan” or “Smoke Grey” version of the Air Max 95 is not an original member of Nike’s old school “Concept Japan” collection of Japan-exclusive releases, but no doubt inspired by the line.

I thought I would try the Solinco Tour Bite as a replacement for the RPM Blast 17 string that I had been using on my K-Zen. The Tour Bite is cheaper than the RPM and had some good reviews on the website. Unfortunately my experience so far is that the Tour Bite is harder, less forgiving, and simply does not have the feel of the RPM. The spin generated is fine, but the control is not the same for me. Of course there are a number of variables. I had this strung at 55 and it may be that over time they will mellow out, but my take on these stings is that they are okay but inferior to the RPM blast and next time I will pay a little extra for what seems to be a better all around string.

Tried the Tour Bite 17g at 54 lbs in my Wilson 105 non S version. Had to order from Europe. The string broke very quickly. Probably after about 3 hours of play. My usual choice is the Tour Bite Soft 17g string. It lasts much longer like 3 weeks, and I hit 5 days a week. My review is a bit faulted as I only tried the regular tour bite once. So I am not giving it a fair chance on durability. I just havent tried it again since the soft version is back in stock.

I really like the performance, lots of spin and bite. It lets you do to the ball what ypu want . Deep, angled, high and heavy, fast drives and even slices. The secret that most people dont get is that this stings work better at lower tensions. I know that tension is a personal matter, but lowering the tension scares most players and feel that it is gonna fly on them so the string at the same tension without experimenting. I used to string my racquets with synthetic in the 90,s at 58 lbs but know with this strings i have been lowering until i found that 42 - 44 pounds gives me the best combination of power and control. My advantage is at i have my own stringing machine. I have try it twice and so far tension is holding on well. My recommendation is to lower the tension by at least 10 -15 percent to start and work yourself down. If you check the tension the pros are using it

Beautiful color way

I love how the air max 95 fits, always a good shoe. Colorway is one of a kind in my opinion. Also love the bottom outsole.

Fantastic trainers!
19 December 2017

Bought these for my daughter. And she loves them!! She said They are so comfy the best nikes she's ever had. She has had lots of bikes in the past and these are defiantly her favourite. I ordered them on line as they didn't have the colour she wanted in store. Quick delivery and the girls in store were really helpful. Would definitely recommend.

Gorgeous shoes
13 August 2020

So happy I bought these! The most gorgeous pastel trainers I’ve seen. If you are unsure which size to get go for your usual Nike size if you already have some as they fit true to size. I am either a 5 or 5 and half depending on shoe brand and these fit perfect in 5 and a half.

Great shoes! Great price
9 September 2018

I'm extremely pleased with my purchase. These shoes are extremely light weight yet really sturdy. They give good cushioning and support to the feet. They look very stylish, not too clumpy. A very well made shoe which will hopefully last. The sizing is spot on. Only one small criticism, the laces are not as long as I would like.

Rare Trainers
25 January 2017

Scrolling through the office website, I came across these beauties. In search for a new pair of trainers these caught my eye and I had to purchase them. They're unique, different, and just something I can imagine not many people would be having and thats what made them special. In light of this, I was lucky to get them in my size as they were just about to sell out as I knew they would. I am a massive trainer collector, but these trainers had just stood out of the bunch, the size, the fast delivery, the colour, everything.

Weird/wrong sizing
10 July 2017

I bought a pair of Air Max 95 Light Bones last week. I checked multiple shoe size converting tables and figured out my EU size 39 is UK6 (or UK6.5). Turns out though that I received a size EU40 which, according to the sticker in my shoe, is equal to UK6. EU40 should be UK7.5. In the end it didn't matter since the shoes fit well, but I'm still a little confused by this sizing.

men sizing

Nordstrom categorized these as women sizes but they are men’s. Had to return and re-order. Otherwise, great sneakers, love 95s. Red is a true bright red.
