Read the reviews and bought a pair from the local Academy. These shoes are VERY comfortable. I started running and was having problems with shin splints and irritated knees. These fixed my problem. They are so comfortable that I talked my wife into buying a pair. Once the wife wore them one day she orded an additional pair on line. Yes, I went ahead and bought two more as well. That is five pair of these shoes between the two of us. We love these shoes!

I bought 3 pairs of these shoes because I could not get the Tailwinds that I usually buy. The 1 st pair wore out in less than 5 months. I sent them back to Nike and they told me it was “normal” wear and tear. The Tailwinds usually last me 2 years. I would have had to wear these shoes 24/7 for 5 months and run the entire time to have them wear out that fast. Nike denied my claim. Even though I like the Tailwinds, because of Nike’s denial, I will NEVER buy another pair of Nikes.Note: I bought these from Famous Footwear, not Academy, but the review is for the Torch IV, not the store.

I have had several pairs of this exact shoe. I continue to purchase this shoe because it fits well and the feel of the shoe for me is better than most. I typically but this shoe in black because it goes with about anything. This time I bought royal blue because it was on clearance. But it was still the same great fit and feel. I wear out shoes quickly due to the amount of stress I put on a shoe. This shoe also wears well and better than most. I hope that Nike continues to produce this shoe.

You would not know what to write on a review until you have put the item for review to test. A couple of months ago, I ordered this pair of shoes and on October 29, 2017, I ran a 10k (3RD Annual Spirit Run in Livermore Ca). A measure of a good pair of shoes for me is when you feel you are are not wearing one and as if you are on walking on a luxurious carpet. Good feeling in the feet, it provides stability running or trudging flat or sloping ground whether landing on the toes or the heels. This pair of shoes is not bad to wear casually either with the good look...and fits right.
I’ll start off with the benefits. I have went hiking between 8-10 miles comfortably about 3 times and no problems. Soles of feet may get sore but hey I’m hiking. Running is where the issues comes in. These shoes absolutely destroyed my heels and my left sole. They left quarter sized blisters (now holes) in both heels and a dime sized hole on left sole. First, I ran 3 miles when I destroyed my heels with the quarter sized blisters. I wore mole skin on my heels and wore the shoes everywhere for 3 months. I figured they had to be broken in now so they newness is gone. That means maybe they won’t destroy my heels. I ran 6 miles today and finished about 35 min ago with mole skin on both heels (just in case) and that’s how I got the dime sized hole in my sole. I was just ... MoreI’ll start off with the benefits. I was just beginning mile 3 whenever I had to physically take the left shoe off and run/jog with the Left shoe in my hand. Luckily at monument part if you don’t mind dodging geese poo in your sock/shoe you can run without your left shoe.
Thought I wanted the newest foam shoes even though I am only a casual runner. My wife, a physical therapist, pulled these off the shelf and said "Try them." Amazing comfort and support throughout the entire foot. From walking (jogging) with our puppy to working out, these are the best multi-purpose shoes I have ever worn. Even tough enough for hiking since the airpod is protected around the heel unlike the much more expensive models.
From the very first time I tried on a pair of these, I knew they were right for me. They just fit me perfectly. Really none of the three pairs I've had have worn completely out/fallen apart. But after 13-14 months of daily use, it's usually time for new shoes. On my 2nd pair I decided to try some insoles. The green Spenco ones are awesome with these shoes. I recommend peeling out (they're glues in) the ultra thin insoles in these shoes and sliding in the green Spenco ones. It took these shoes from awesome to the best shoes in the world. hahaha
Very comfortable fit. While the mesh top type of shoe are lighter and cooler, they are not as durible against snags and scraping, so i chose these with a more substantial upper material. The compromise is they are warmer and it is summer. I think Under Armour has done a better job of combining durability and thermal comfort, but i could not find a current style of UA shoes that suited me (i dont wear neon) so i tried Nike for the first time, i am 35. I use them for casual wear, not sports. This may be the best shoe ever when the weather is cooler.
Had a pair of Nike Advantage I literally wore the tread off I've had them so long....but they were the most comfortable sneakers ever! It was time for a new pair . I had been searching for months for the right shoe, style, comfort, color and price all are major factors for me. After finally finding one to fit the criteria....guess what? ...they didn't come in my size. I have a pretty big foot for a lady (11) so cute shoes are few and far between.. I notice the sneakers were offered in men's size with a few minor changes in color. So I went into the store tried them on and fell in love. I have issues with my left knee and of course I'm not making any medical claims, but this shoe definitely helped alleviate the problem with the much needed heel support that my old ... MoreHad a pair of Nike Advantage I literally wore the tread off I've had them so long....but they were the most comfortable sneakers ever! With the exception of not being cushy inside ( easy fix)...it is an excellent shoe overall.
I love the good sole it has under the shoe, it looks well designed and durable. I was upset with other brands that looked fancy, but started to break apart in a few months. I only suggest that more E sizes be made available and not mostly D sizes for people that have wider feet like me. Durability of the sole of the shoe is very important - often times these parts of the shoe start to break apart first. I have yet to see just how durable it is - I will know in time just how long this shoe lasts me. I didn't like the reflective tape on top front side since I like to use this shoe on casual occasions. In fact, I painted it with a black permanent marker to disguise it. The Saucony brand I had before this started to break apart under the sole after the 5th time I wore ... MoreI love the good sole it has under the shoe, it looks well designed and durable.
