I actually felt like I was running a bit faster during my shorter run with the Next Nature due to the firmer midsole.While I love the sustainability aspect of the Next Nature, there are two things I would change about the shoe. The sneaker could do without the very large Nike "Move to Zero" logo on the medial side of the upper/midsole. It looks like an afterthought to the overall design, and just does not look good in my opinion. Additionally, I'm a bit worried about the durability of the midsole. While I'm a fan that Nike is reusing old midsoles and giving the shoe a second life, it looks like it may crumble after some more runs (the carbon plate and glue are visible which gives the shoe a raw aesthetic, but it just looks like it has a shorter life than the original Alphafly) Time will tell whether this is true!Overall, the Alphafly Next Nature is a great, functional sneaker that gives you a lot of energy return and really improves your running time - all while using recycled materials. I'm not sure if I prefer this model over the original, but I really appreciate Nike's move towards sustainability.

The snug-fit around the arches of my feet also feels very supportive!I never wear running shoes but thought the design of these were pretty cool. It’s hands down the best running shoe I’ve worn! The only things I would change are the color of the midsole which has a brown tint to it (which may be a result of it being made of recycled materials) and the pinwheel design on the inside of the shoe. They don’t effect the performance of the shoe, which is most important to me in a running shoe but, I personally like a clean midsole and a less busy design. With all that said, it’s still the best running shoe I’ve worn!

The heart rate and rate of perceived effort is lower compared to other shoes at the same pace. I prefer this over the Vaporfly Next% 2 (which is also excellent, and some people consider the gold standard) for marathon racing.The only reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5 is because the shoe is VERY narrow in the arch. It’s quite noticeable when walking but once you start running it’s no longer an issue. I personally didn’t have any noticeable issues and my runs went pretty fine.The combo of the ZoomX insole and Flyprint support improve the arch fit significantly and I love it.

I don't know how they could possibly improve this shoe. It's perfect.First thing I noticed is how feather-light they are. Light, yet strong and stable. By far the softest ride I've ever experienced. My feet and ankles feel safe and secure, while simultaneously staying super comfortable.The upper material molds to my foot: Strong, light, supple, flexible, durable, breathable, cool, dry. Though the upper is secure enough to use without laces, the laces are cleverly offset to the side, to keep them off the bony part of top of foot. If you can test these out in person and try them on to find your right size - these would be 5 stars and PERFECT! These shoes unfortunately run really small and narrow. I am usually a size 6W but I think I would even be comfortable going one whole size up with these. My right shoe is a lot more comfortable than my left shoe, and I am assuming this is because of the wrong sizing and causing the back part of the shoe to dig into my ankle. I am a big fan of bright-colored athletic shoes, as I am typically a neutral-colored everyday shoe person, so the lime green soles and light aqua knit is super cute to me. The colorway is fun for athletic wear.

The main points that make a shoe's upper stand out from the competition are its lockdown and breathability.The Alphafly Next Nature has a small cushion heel wrap that helps keep your foot in place during runs. The midfoot of the upper is composed of Flyprint which is a more rigid weave that encompasses the arch and top of your foot (reminiscent of Flywire cables). The combination of materials keep your foot locked.Flyknit upper surrounds this shoe and allows for ultimate breathability. You can run for days on end in the warmest of climates, and your feet will never overheat due to the way Flyknit allows air to flow into the shoe. It's a soft (especially in the toebox) and lightweight material that conforms to the shape of your foot for comfort throughout your run.Overall, this shoe is checks all the performance boxes of breathability, cushion and lockdown. It's one of the comfiest competitive running shoes I've had the pleasure of wearing. If you are in the market for a shoe that will improve your marathon time, look no further than the Alphafly Next Nature!
