Arguably the best high-cushion basketball shoe from since the Lebron 17, and it may well out perform those as well. Extraordinarily light for the the cushioning provided, the GT Jump 2 is a significant improvement from the previous model, particularly in terms of stability and lockdown (no upper-tongue lace pressure this time, unlike the previous model). The zoom pods are also slightly firmer, and the well-caged React in the hell and midfoot does exactly what they intend it to do.It's extremely difficult to make a shoe this stable and well-protected also feel this active and athletic. I'll be buying multiples and stocking up so that I can keep wearing it on court long after it's discontinued. A triumph.

The shoes are a little tight at first but loosened up a bit as I broke them in. These have incredible cushioning. I played 6 pickup games to break them in and had no foot pain. I can't say the same for the Jordan 38. They have very good in lockdown and traction, but man that cushioning is phenomenal. Court feel is ok since you are riding very high, but I felt no lateral instability because of it. A really good shoe for heavier players. I would rate these just under the Jordan 29 and 34 which are my GOATs.

Old guy here... These are nearly impossible to find in-store near me. Had to order online and hope they felt good. I Bought these after I had foot surgery and needed a little more cushion under my foot. These are surprisingly soft and bouncy. I can see where they might feel a little clunky for a guard but in my advanced age, the soft landings are priority. A buddy of mine tried them on and loved them. He ordered them too!

I have two pairs of the G.T. Jump 1 and loved them. I "jumped" on the opportunity to get the new release. More of a mid-top than a high-top, but feels very stable and supportive. My only complaint is that it took a while to break in. I play twice a week for 2 hours at a time and they didn't break in for about 2 months -admittingly I only wore them every other time initially to see how my old G.T. Jumps felt. Now that they are broken in, the cushion and support are 5*. I like the materials, they seem like they will last long, and the traction has been great so far.
Nike, would you PLEASE make this shoe in a low top version? Let me know. Great shoe. Great impact protection, unlike most all other basketball shoes. I wish Jordan and Lebron basketball shoes had way more impact protection. Maybe the Air Jordan 38 Low that is coming out soon, has more impact protection? Nike is making great running shoes with great impact protection like the Alpha Fly and the Invincible 3. Now PLEASE make basketball shoes with WAY more impact protection, cushion, as even your high end Air Jordan and Lebron basketball shoes have little impact protection. Go up a half size on these. I am an outside shooter, shooting guard.
If you’re looking for a pair of super-cushioned shoes to either help you get extra bounce OR maybe all those landings hurt your feet and your joints more than they did a few years ago—this is your pair. I honestly think I tried on about 15 different Nike basketball shoes and if comfort and cushion is your aim, you’ll love these. They’re also sturdy but not heavy or rigid, so even if you are trying to move with pace, they don’t feel like moon boots. Excellent shoe.Runs mostly true to size, but if you’re sort of between sizes depending on the model, chose the smaller size.
I’m 38 and I’ve had multiple meniscus surgeries, and search for shoes with excellent cushioning. Im not lying when I say, “once I put these on, my knee pain went away!” It’s was like a miracle!I had the GT jump 1s, and they did the same thing for my knees. But…they were awkward ,heavier, and kinda cumbersome. It was hard to hoop in them . They also flexed right in the middle of the shoe, which aggravated my plantar fasciitis ( but that’s just me).So hesitantly, I returned them, and gave up my wonder drug for my knees.Well, all that has changed with the GT Jump 2! They are lighter, give just as much bounce and stress relief for my joints. They are much more agile, and supportive. The heel shoe flexes mainly in the forefoot, which I feel is a more comfortable ride. ... MoreI’m 38 and I’ve had multiple meniscus surgeries, and search for shoes with excellent cushioning. I liked the style but the fabric used to tie the tongue of the shoe to the sides is not elastic. It offers no stretch. The shoe makes my toes fall asleep just like my 6 rings did before I stretched the elastic out in the tongues. I just wanted to caution anyone else that’s had that issue that these may not fit you correctly.I really like the transition on the sole from forefoot to toes. It really provides a good ramping to gain momentum on a jump.
Bought these for my 5th grade daughter. She loves them. Super sticky & great traction. Awesome cushioning support on rebounding and jump shots. Good ankle support which was why we wanted to higher top. Don’t think you could wear these with ankle supports but you won’t need them if you make the shoes tight around the ankle. Buying another for my 7th grader. Bonus: adds 1.5” to height. Highly recommended.
This is by far one of the most if not the most beefiest cushion I have ever played on. But let’s start at with the outsole. It would always bite and my foot wasn’t sliding however, I was playing at my local gym which they aren’t always the cleanest. The usual swiping of the sole will be needed but I do believe if I play in a clean court cleaning the soles would be minimal. Outside was good. I never had an issue were I felt I was slipping. Now the cushion. The forefoot is a huge zoom unit and rear has some of the softest react cushion which is a great setup up. But I did say beefiest and to top off that great set up it’s loaded with an air zoom strobel and that takes it to a whole different level that makes me bounce after every step. Which is great for impact ... MoreThis is by far one of the most if not the most beefiest cushion I have ever played on. But let’s start at with the outsole. Which is great for impact protection. Now the upper is thin, flexible and breathable. No break in time was needed I felt ready to go once I put them on. With a nice, firm and secured lockdown. I love react and zoom air. But in this situation it did feel a bit too much for a player like myself. I like to get more court feel and with this set up you won’t get any. There is so much cushion it feel a little strange. A good strange but it might just be that I’m not used to playing in a set up like this. I would definitely recommend to anyone that want the most cushion on their feet. This will be the best pair of shoes you could ever have.
