Nike Air Zoom Pegasus 38 Men's Road Running Shoes - Black

The men's Nike Air Zoom Pegasus 38 is a light and nimble workhorse for your training. Nike built the Pegasus 38 around a bouncy React foam midsole. The material is popular in Nike running shoes because it provides premium cushioning while maintaining a springy ride. Designers added an extra pop to the ride with a Zoom Air unit in the forefoot. The pocket of air provides extra cushioning without extra weight, and it rebounds quickly for a snappy response when you take off. An engineered mesh upper is light and breathable, and midfoot webbing helps create a finely tuned fit. Nike shaped the toe box for a slightly wider fit this year, which makes the Peg more comfortable when the miles start adding up. With a durable rubber outsole that improves your grip on pavement and smooths out the ride, the men's Nike Air Zoom Pegasus 38 delivers high performance under an iconic nameplate.

This is a FAKE NIKE.... Myntra should take action against the seller and reimburse the amount. I trusted Myntra even though I was a bit sceptical buying shoes online fearing fake. The inner sole of these shoes are so soft that you don't get a grip while walking or running. My other Size 8 shoes are perfect fit for me whether its NIKE or Adidas. But these particular shoes are a bit tight fit making them uncomfortable. Please avoid this seller and Myntra should act and reimburse.

BEWARE of awkward heel design.

Pros: Product looks great.Cons: The fit was a bit narrower than compared to other brands like New Balance and Brooks. The awkward rounded and triangular pointed heel made me repeatedly turn my ankle when running around the playground with my kids. Maybe my fault for wearing them on uneven terrain, but I've never experienced any shoe that made me want to turn my ankles so frequently...

The Nike Air Zoom Pegasus 38 are amazing. Upon first opening the box, you’ll notice the shoes are very sleek looking. Putting the shoe on, it’s very comfortable, has the right amount of width through the arch and toes. The foam sole is very supportive, it is responsive and lightweight. The mesh upper is soft, flexible and breathable, it conforms to your foot but holds it in place. The hole for the runners knot is much appreciated and helps to hold your ankle in place on a run. The only downside, and I struggle to find one, is the length of the shoe lace. I double knot my laces and it was difficult to get the second knot in. For reference, I run half marathons and just completed the Virtual NY Half and my legs/knees/hips felt amazing on a recovery run in these shoes. ... MoreThe Nike Air Zoom Pegasus 38 are amazing. They’re very fashionable for a running shoe; something that can be worn for a long run and then transitioned directly into running errands. Bonus, my daughter said “mom, those are cool shoes!” so that’s a win.

Great jack of all trades running shoe.

After using these shoes for a year, I can officially say that these shoes are great all-in-one running shoes. They work for cross country, marathons, practically anything that you can think of. After using them for a year, they only look like dirt has taken them over. The foam has not worn off, and they still look, and feel great after 300 miles. I’ll definitely be using them for another year, as they are extremely reliable. However, there are some pros and cons. PROS: Very light for their size, fits almost any foot type, and comfortable for longer and shorter runs. Foam will hold for a long time, shows no sign of shrinking or tears.CONS: White soles will get dirty easily, and the normal version of the shoe has a very wide front-end, making it quite spacious in the ... MoreAfter using these shoes for a year, I can officially say that these shoes are great all-in-one running shoes. (Some may find it uncomfortable)CONCLUSION: great running shoe for any event, tackles marathons and 5-10k’s easily. For narrow to medium feet. If you like this, you should try the vaporflys, as they feel quite similar, as they are just a beefed up version of these shoes.

Great true running shoe
29 March 2021

For the last several years, I've worn Nike's Metcon brand of training shoes, so getting these Pegasus 38s was a true change of pace (pun intended). Overall these shoes are very high performance - light and secure on the foot, great cushioning without feeling disconnected, and fairly well ventilated.CATEGORY 1 - Looks & MaterialsI'd classify these as purely a performance shoe. Some shoes have hybrid potential and can work as a casual lifestyle shoe and a gym shoe. These are not that. They're handsome, with solid colorways and good design, but the extended heal and relative thickness of the sole means they aren't as versatile (in my opinion) as some of Nike's other options. But these are likely bought to run, so that's not a big deterrent to the core market. The ... MoreFor the last several years, I've worn Nike's Metcon brand of training shoes, so getting these Pegasus 38s was a true change of pace (pun intended). They're handsome, with solid colorways and good design, but the extended heal and relative thickness of the sole means they aren't as versatile (in my opinion) as some of Nike's other options. But these are likely bought to run, so that's not a big deterrent to the core market. The upper is largely mesh and the tongue is integrated. I think I prefer Nike's Flyknit for its thinness and ventilation, but this still felt comfortable and cool. Laces and holders seem well built - the shoe effectively stretches and holds around the foot, so not a lot of pressure or tightening required.Tread felt tough and like it will wear well with time. Has good "knobs" - not a trail running shoe but had no trouble on pavement, concrete, and even some mud on my runs.CATEGORY 2 - PerformanceThese blew my mind on the first run. My training is typically varied and my shoes have lately been more training shoe than running shoe (so Metcon has been my brand). The difference in feel was immediately obvious. The cushioning feels like the right mix of impact protection and responsiveness. Some running shoes can feel aloof, but I felt very stable in these. The combo of zoom air and Nike's foam cushioning seems to be pretty well tuned at this point. They feel like they propel you forward and support your foot at every point in your stride. They are very light. There's a fair amount of material in the sole, but I never had a sense of inertia or momentum from the shoe. Maybe not quite as light and close to the foot as a Nike Free shoe, but you're also getting a lot more cushioning. As I mentioned above, they performed great across a series of surfaces. Tread is a great middle ground between traction and speed. The extended heal is a little strange. Not sure I really got much out of it as I am more of a mid foot striker, but maybe it helps certain running styles. It certainly didn't get in the way, and it's so light it has no impact on the balance of the shoe. The only potential negative for me was ventilation. The mesh upper is nicely cushioned and feels great, but I don't believe it breathes as well as some of Nike's other materials. Not a huge issue for me as my runs aren't exceptionally long, but might be something to keep an eye on for those who are doing an hour+ runs.CATEGORY 3 - FitThese fit true to size to other Nike's for me. Size 13 on the dot. Toe box is standard and heal fit is secure.Very secure. They have a bit of a sock-like feel to them, which i liked. My foot never slid, and I never felt like I had to readjust. They were immediately comfortable with no break-in period for me. Definitely something you could wear for an extended period of time without pinch points.OVERALL THOUGHTSThese are a great running shoe. My last pair of true running shoes was Nike Flyknit Lunars, and these are a massive improvement in performance. They are purpose-built and look it, so I probably won't be wearing these to work or out to dinner (not that dinners out are really an option right now), but they do the job they were built for very well.

Great, comfortable trainers
27 April 2023

I've bought several pairs of shoes from another well known brand that's known for the comfort aspect but doesn't always make the best looking trainers! These Nike ones, although a little pricier, are definitely worth it. Really comfortable, even on long days of walking. The only thing I'm not massively keen on is the breathable fabric as your feet can get a little cold, and they're not great in wet weather. Not sure why manufacturers have stopped making leather trainers!I'm normally a size 9 but had to go for 9.5 in these as the 9's were too snug.

Pegasus 38 A Gift From The Gods

Amazing! Ok now that I have that out the way let me tell you why. The Nike Air Zoom Pegasus 38's feel like your walking on clouds or jumping bear foot on your comfy mattress. The fit was just right. Getting your exact size should be no problem and will be a good fit. The flexible material provides a comfortable feeling and the ability to possibly still fit great a half size smaller or bigger. The design is a looker, what seems to look like a typical running shoe of sorts finishes off with a unique design at the tail end to let people know, Yep! these are my comfortable Pegasus 38s. Ideal for a run or a walk these shoes are even comfortable enough for all day use which can also be just sitting around the couch, as long as your mother allows shoes in the house. Overall this is a great shoe to provide you with a comfortable feel and great flexibility for whatever your day brings.

Super comfort

I took these shoes for a couple of runs already and I really felt the difference from the other shoes I've worn before. The response when you run is noticeable, I'm really happy with these. First thing I noticed is the weight-very lightweight which I feared should mean no support or cushion, but I was wrong. I like everything about the shoe. One negative thing I felt was the toe box seemed somewhat tight but still the front of the shoe was nonetheless very supportive. The sole provided good grip on the uneven (and varying surface) sidewalks in my neighborhood as well as asphalt. In addition, they performed just as well the time I used them on a treadmill. There is quite a lot of cushion in the heel which made for a very comfortable run (about 3-4 miles, usually). ... MoreI took these shoes for a couple of runs already and I really felt the difference from the other shoes I've worn before. Aesthetically, I like the color scheme a lot, but I’m afraid after a few outdoor runs the large amount of white space in the heel/back of the show will dirty up quickly. Overall, a good lightweight running shoe with plenty of support and loads of cushioning. The shoe is so comfortable and you can walk or run with them for a long period comfortably.
