My first experience with the nike shield pegasus was with the 38 model... since then I was just amaze hiw comfortable the shoes is and how well the sole grips even on wet surfaces. The Nike Shield Pegasus 39 is no different.... comfortable... very grippy sole and it is actually a weatherised running shoes meaning it is water repellant. I am so happy with my Nike Shield Pegasus 39

The shoe definitely is more on the comfortable side, I used it for treadmill running, outdoor running, and walking. It does feel stiff because of all the water-resistant material at first but you can break it in quickly. I was wondering what they meant by "Popping noises" when I was reading the reviews, you will understand precisely what it is when you wear it yourself. The water-resistant material around the box isn't uncomfortable but it's stiff in any way so every step will be rather loud at times. Breathability-wise, it's decent, I wore these for hours and my feet weren't all sweaty or wet. Unless you really need something that is more on the weather-proof side then go for these, otherwise, the regular Pegasus 39 would be a better choice because of its better ... MoreThe shoe definitely is more on the comfortable side, I used it for treadmill running, outdoor running, and walking. These seemed to check all the boxes for what I was looking for in a wet weather shoe and I liked the colorways--especially the black/gray/volt. But the shield material is too a bit too stiff, which means that in the area where the toe box meets the tongue of the shoe, the material bends in a way that makes a loud popping sound during each step when you lift your heel off the ground. I've had plenty of shield shoes in the past where this wasn't a problem, but this iteration is noisy and I don't think it will go away with time. Sad to send them back.

When compared to Gore Tex or any other weather proof shoe out their Nike really out did themselves. Longevity and durability these shoes were meant to last and keep your toes dry. The surface is almost anti everything when it comes to repellent. The continental treads are remarkably soft yet grip so well.
Just like the other reviews on here, I ordered a customized pair, I love the fit and design, but not sure if I can get over the popping noise in the toe area. It seems like nobody tests these shoes out before they sell them? The sound is extremely annoying. It's too bad because I do love the Shields.
I think the concept is great, to have a running shoe for inclement weather especially during the cold season. So, I hoped that this is the one shoe to rule them all, but my expectations were maybe a little high. The problem was that for me there was just a tiny pressure point in the area on the outer side of the arch, or in medical speak the lateral plantar part of the foot. That, although barely noticeable initially, created a sense of discomfort that I couldn't justify. Also, I noticed (like others did) that the shoe makes quite loud noise when bent during rolling off. The waterproof material gets folded in a loud popping way. Other than the issue described above, the ride felt comfortable and bouncy with the right amount of cushion and great grip. Key points (all related):1. The shoe does seem to run a little on the large side for Nike, which I presume is an accommodation of the thicker, "weather-shield" material out of which the upper of the shoe is made. That said, I have the same size I always wear in Nike. While maybe a touch roomier, they are exceedingly comfortable. If you normally wear between a 9.5 and a 10, maybe go with the 9.5 for this shoe.2. This shoe is intended as a wet-weather/cold-weather shoe. If you're sporting it on a warm/hot day, you are likely to end up with hot feet. Seems like that's the intent and by design. Great when it's cold or wet, though.3. The shoes definitely make a kind of ... muffled crinkling noise when you're walking/running in them. They are not designed for ... MoreKey points (all related):1. The shoes definitely make a kind of ... muffled crinkling noise when you're walking/running in them. They are not designed for stealth. Again, the noise seems to be the result of the thicker-than-normal "weather-shield" uppers flexing and bending as you walk or run in them. The noise has been a point of amusement on occasion, but in no way a problem or deal breaker for me.4. For me, they are about as comfortable as a pair of slippers. But I will put them away for warm weather months.
I did a lot of research before buying these thinking that these were going to work for me. I was very wrong. For some reason these shoes hurt when I use them for running. They don’t seem to have the right support in arch like I thought they would. On top of all that they are a bit loud due to the weather lining. Consider buying something else.
I was looking for some comfortable shoes to be able to walk for most of the day, and do so comfortably. After a recent visit to Disneyland, I quickly realized that I needed better walking shoes. These performed excellently!Every time I put them on, I forget about them. Why? It’s because they’re doing what they’re supposed to do, and if I don’t think about it, that means that they don’t bother me at all.I definitely recommend these shoes
Bottom line up front: the popping noise stops after a distance run/one day of wearing around the office. The water resistant material just needs to break in.I have plantar fasciitis and wear these to run as well as walk during the day at work. The cushioning works wonders to prevent aggravations. The reviews of the popping sound are warranted. But it DOES stop. I assumed it was the material and that it would stop. It did. And in less time than I anticipated. I would wear these 24/7 if I could. I have always enjoyed the pegasus variant of Nike runners.
