A few months ago I ordered Brooks and they came disgusting and used. Full of dog hair and with stains. Against my better judgement I ordered these Nike purple Pegasus. They came USED! The soles were dirty and honestly looked like they’d stepped in dog #2 and were dirty. The tops of both shoes were dirty and the inside was pilled and looked like it had been rubbed from sliding feet in and out. I have no clue how dicks is accepting USED DIRTY shoes back and then mailing them back out to customers. I cannot believe I paid well over $100 for shoes and they come used. I will not be shopping for shoes here again. HOWEVER, these shoes are amazing and very comfortable. Just buy them in person.

As someone who works out six days a week and owns the previous Air Zoom Pegasus model, I was super excited to get this updated model, the Air Zoom Pegasus 40, on my feet!Immediately upon trying them on, I was thrilled by how the cushioning made my feet feel like I was walking on a cloud. These are the Wide model so the fit allowed some extra room for my wide feet. I typically have to go a half size up in regular shoes and did with these as well. While I appreciate the extra room width-wise, I would have preferred a slightly snugger fit lengthwise so I would go true to size. Since I typically workout indoors, this is usually not an issue but I do throw these on to walk my dogs in the evenings after work so it would be appreciated for when it starts to get darker earlier.Overall, the Air Zoom Pegasus 40 is a fantastic choice for those seeking comfort, style, and performance in their running shoes. The wide width fits perfectly for my wide foot and is very comfortable and stable. For reference, I have to wear an extra wide width on all my shoes because my insteps and flat feet make my feet extra wide. But this width on this shoe was exactly wide enough for my foot so I highly recommend this fit for wide foot people. As mentioned above this is a very light shoe and the soles are extremely soft and plush. These are very good things but we also have to realize that shoes like this will have some material weaknesses to it. Lighter fabric will definitely break down sooner than heavier materials but that’s totally ok in this case because I’m not taking these shoes to a construction zone. If I wanted something that lasted forever, I would buy myself some steel boots so I think the durability on these Pegasuses (Pegasi?) are great
The Air Zoom Pegasus 40 is a good sneaker. I took my pair on a recent cruise and was not disappointed. With all the up and down on the stairs, helping my kiddos get to the various activities offered, my feet were in great shape. Love the cushion support throughout my whole foot. Nice snug fit through the middle of my foot but plenty of space towards my toes to allow for some foot movement when running or walking. These shoes are true to size, so no need to size up or down. Love the breathable mesh material. A must when you are running around. There is good grip on the bottom, even when the ground is wet. Another quality shoe by Nike.

This particular route took me over asphalt, packed dirt, sidewalk, and a brief cut through a bit of fine gravel. Not surprisingly, the Air Zoom Pegasus 40s performed great in all these conditions. Excellent grip, perfect flex in the heel to toe transition, and an all around great run.Asthetically, I think it is a good looking shoe that I am comfortable wearing in a variety of settings. I also love the layered waffle pattern on the top, that extra breathability will definitely make these comfortable to wear even in the summer where triple digits temps are the norm in my area. All in all, an outstanding running shoe that ticks all my boxes!!
