I just got home from my son's district track meet where he ran the 300 hurdles. After jumping the first hurdle I knew something was wrong. Each hurdle was jumped oddly and he ran his worst time of the year. After the race he showed us his shoe which had blown out. He was highly disappointed as he was hoping to run at state. My heart is broken for him. We purchased these shoes for him at the beginning of his cross country season this school year so they were not old. I really thought Nike made more durable shoes than this which is why we went with them but we have been sorely disappointed.

This spike is awesome (for lack of a more amazing word). As soon as I pulled it out of the box, I was in love. I've worn it a couple times on the track and ran a few 5K cross country races in it. I brought my 5K PR down from 18:59 to 17:56 in one week with this shoe. The AtomKnit upper is extremely breathable, comfortable, and easy to get on. The notched shoelaces are a nice touch that keeps your foot locked down. The upper doesn't hold water and keeps it light even with wet conditions. The ZoomX foam is great for a soft landing that also gives a little bounce. Then you get to the Zoom Air unit in the forefoot and it's still a comfortable feel with even more pop. The carbon-fiber FlyPlate also propels you forward to make you feel like you are flying. It is also ... MoreThis spike is awesome (for lack of a more amazing word). There is a lot going on underfoot and you can feel it but numbers don't lie. This shoe is made to smash PRs.

Beautiful spike, immediately helped me break 2:10 in the 800m. However, the ZoomX foam and plastic under the air unit wear put REALLY fast. These are not spikes to throw on whenever, these are pr spikes. I also ordered true to size, and the result is a ¼ inch gap in the toes. But you can't complain too much with these things performance.

I have been buying Nike for the last 45 years and this is the best track spike they have ever made. the air pods in the forefoot give an incredible amount of cushioning. The shoe is light and comfortable. The only situation that I would warn about is to make sure you know your size. I have worn a size 12 in road running shoes for the last 15 years, but a size 12 spike was just too big. When I saw these for sale at half the price and a size smaller I jumped on it. Used my shoes today and had a great training run! Not bad for a 61 year old geezer!!
There isn’t a really good way to intro these shoe. They are just a beast for practically every mid distance event however while their functionally may seem great, they are targeted at a very small portion of mid distance runners. If you heal strike even the smallest bit in these, they will slow you down. Really these aren’t worth it even if you have amazing form and great foot strike . They are just too taxing on your legs at longer distances. I can’t really recommend the Vaporfly enough in this secenerio. They work great for everyone. Normally I would say that they should only be used by higher level athletes, however if you can find them on a pretty good discount and you have strong legs, good form and foot strike then you should pick them up. Honestly I don’t think that the absurd quality and the price tag mix very well. There are better options out there. So save yourself some time and just get another pair of super shoes or spikes.
Bought these for my daughter for collegiate track and field. She wore them for one of her workouts and said they are definitely meant to be race shoes as her calves hurt her for two days after her workout while wearing them! She did not realize how flat footage she normally is.
As soon as my son’s shoes arrived the first thing I notice was that the orange outline around the swoosh on the blue spikes was not there. That’s because Nike did not design them like that only Dicks is advertising them with that color scheme. To make things worse, when I returned them at the store I had a bit of a back and forth with the young employee because she couldn’t tell that I was returning the correct shoes because they looked so different from the picture that the store displayed. Next, the material definitely feels like it’ll rip if handled roughly. I have an active 8 year old boy so I already knew the shoes didn’t stand a chance. I got the shoes at a heavily discounted price online because of my sons shoe size but if I had to pay the regular price for ... Just bought the shoe a month ago, my son runs AAA track, this a great he placed 2nd 400m time 51.0, same day run 11.0 in the 100m,Joseph is running in Marietta Championship track meet at Marietta High School this Friday
Sorry about the late review. Completely forgot about it! Son loves his new shoes. He wore it the day he got them and says it was a perfect fit and the color is very accurate from the picture. Highly recommended!!
I recently got these spikes for the upcoming college track season and was planning to race events from 800m to 3k. I wore them on the outdoor track a time or two and they felt pretty good just a little different from what I was used to. I then tried doing strides on a 200m indoor track and around the turn the air cushion almost seemed too soft. It felt like the shoes were rolling on my feet but they were plenty tight. After I took them off I noticed that the bottom where the plastic spike plate and the foam connect started to separate and rip. I think they would probably be ok on the outdoor track where the turns are wider but on the indoor track they were a little too unstable for me.
