I needed a pair of all leather uppers for work. I believe these actually debuted by Nike around 1984-84. Never had them, but still wanted them. We have dubbed them my Back To The Furure shoes as these are similar to the ones Michael J. Fox made famous in the movie. I'm so happy with these that I'm ordering the white & black version also! My only disappointment is that you can't get them in the vast range of color combos that you used to. Love them!

My shoes arrived this weekend. I was so excited. I've always loved this style, I remember owning a few pairs about 20+ years ago. Once I put them on I realized they are NOT breathable! My feet were instantly hot! I wore them for about 3 hours and I could feel the bottom of my feet getting blisters because there is not enough cushion. I also noticed that the heel is super wide and if you tighten up the shoe laces it makes the top of the shoe cut into your toes when you walk. So ultimately, you either have to have a loose shoe or have blisters on your toes where it creases every time you take a step.

I had a pair of nylon Cortez back in the day. So I saw these and thought why not. The leather is really stiff. The leather crinkles and digs into my big toe joint. Very uncomfortable. The toe of the shoe is narrow and the heel area is wide. The classic style is on point but I can’t tolerate these shoes.

These shoes are great! Very retro, and super comfortable. I have small/narrow feet, and I am a true size 6. The fit is awesome! My only complaint is that although it fit fine ( narrow ) in the toe area, the opening of the shoe was a little wide, so there was minimal gaping. But other than that, the shoes are fantastic! If you have a wider foot, these shoes are more on the narrow side, so you may have to size up. Super happy with my purchase!
I treat these more like dress flats than I do running/walking shoes. These follow the old-school fit of sneakers of the 70's era. As such, do not expect the level of cushion and support you get with modern-day Nike (like an free/fly/air model) I usually wear 6.5 in NIke's ( I have the fly knit and a number of other running shoes). Because there isn't the normal bulk of cushioning, my ankle/heel is swimming a bit. Others will size down a half size. I could have gone down to a size 6 (which I normally wear in heels). But the length would have me crushing my big toe up against the top. These are not as comfortable as my Nike Free shoes, but you get what you pay for (these are easily $30-$40 cheaper than my regular Nike purchases). I reach for these shoes pretty regularly though for going out. They go with everything, and don't cause blisters like my dress flats do, so I basically grab these (I got the black leather with white swoosh) everytime I need black flats (including with dresses, skirts, shorts, etc.). So don't go jogging or weight lifting in these.
I bought a size up from my usual size (EU 42, bought 43) but they are still tight in length, and pressing on my toes, but quite wide. I didn't realise it until I wore them for a longer period of time, so it was too late to return. Otherwise they feel comfy and look very nice. They also make a squeaky noise on certain floors (like you hear in a gym during a basketball game), that's very annoying.
I couldn't believe it when I saw that not only does Nike still make the Cortez, I could also get them at Sports Direct! I've been searching for the Cortez for a long time, if only for nostalgic reasons—growing up in the USA, these were THE shoes to have in the late '70s and early '80s. When they arrived, I opened the box and saw that red swoosh on white...and they're beautiful.
Was super excited to receive these in the mail. However, they showed up definitely worn or "tried on." Came with scuff marks, dirt and small splatter stains. Not HORRIBLE, but very noticeable. At this point, a little disappointed, but not worth returning. I usually purchase shoes in person from a store, but considering the times we are living in, I resorted to ordering these online. Won't place orders online again and will probably order shoes from the manufacturer directly.
I ordered these in my usual size but they felt very snug around the toes and weren’t comfortable so I had to return them. They would have definitely been a keeper- these shoes are really perfect to wear with just about anything from jeans and leggings to dresses and skirts. I like the bold Nike logo on the sides which elevates any look you put together.
I love these trainers they look so smart and extremely comfortable I had these when I was a teenager and I bought these for my 15 year old daughter she loves them and thinks they are extremely comfortableI bought a size 7 and they fit perfectlyI would recommend these trainersExtremely good quality for the cost
